A call, though not loud, was clear, and immediately woke up the dazed Wen Yu.

Wen Yu shuddered, as if suddenly awakened.

She had been walking mindlessly along the road, lost in thought, not expecting to run into anyone in the back hills.

This call frightened her quite a bit, and she looked up in terror towards the direction of Baili Xia.

“Who is it?”

“It’s me, I’m Xiaxia,” Baili Xia said softly, walking towards Wen Yu.

Wen Yu looked carefully and saw it was Baili Xia.

Her hand gently patted her chest, and only then did her heart calm down a bit.

“You scared me, what are you doing on the back hill so late?”

Baili Xia gave a slight smile, walked over, and stared at Wen Yu’s somewhat pale face tonight.

“I came to exercise, it’s a habit I’ve developed.”

Seeing Wen Yu’s eyes slightly moist, she asked, “Mrs. Wen, what’s wrong? Are you upset?”

Wen Yu was momentarily stunned, turning slightly to wipe her eyes.

“It’s nothing, just some family trivia.”

What Mu Xuri asked her to do was not only difficult to speak of, but also completely trampled a woman’s dignity. She didn’t want anyone to know.

But the obvious attempt to cover up on her face, how could it escape Baili Xia’s eyes?

Knowing she was embarrassed, Baili Xia lightly patted her on the arm.

“It’s nothing, who doesn’t have a little tiff at home now and then, it’s normal to have such things.”

“Just like Brother and me, we also quarrel sometimes.”

“But after quarreling, everything’s fine, and our relationship gets even better than before.”

When a woman is vulnerable, she’s also more easily drawn in.

In Wen Yu’s state, giving her some support might change her attitude towards herself in the future.

Baili Xia sincerely comforted her, but beside her, Wen Yu’s face grew increasingly grim.

The problems between her and Mu Xuri were not the minor squabbles of a young couple.

Though what Mu Xuri asked her to do felt like a personal insult, it could still be construed as a kind of special interest.

More seriously, Mu Xuri had begun to avoid Wen Yu, and her importance by his side was no longer as it used to be.

This kind of thing couldn’t be solved by just a quarrel.

She knew Mu Xuri’s character; if she lost her value, she feared the day of being abandoned wouldn’t be far off.

When she was younger, she naively believed that as long as she served Mu Xuri well, he would treat her well in return.

But only now did she realize it wasn’t like that at all.

Now Mu Xuri was merely using her to vent.

Unless, she still had value.

If she lost that value, would she… after all, she knew too much.

“It’s nothing, it’ll be fine in a few days, thank you, Xiaxia.”

Wen Yu blinked her phoenix eyes briefly, resuming her usual grace.

“You and Xiaoyao are on good terms now, right?”

Baili Xia didn’t hide it, smiling, “Very good, Brother has always treated me well.”

Wen Yu nodded, as if a weight had been lifted.

“That’s good, I heard some time ago that Jiu spent the night in your room, and thought there might be something between you two…”

She didn’t continue, leaving Baili Xia to explain the rest.

Baili Xia’s expression didn’t change, maintaining her smile.

“Those are just rumors, Uncle was only in my room playing video games, Brother was there too at the time.”
