The next morning, it was almost ten o’clock, and the main house was as quiet as usual.

All the servants were performing their duties in an orderly manner.

The manservant dusting the hall had already been there for a long time.

His gaze would occasionally flick upstairs, but Wen Yu’s door remained firmly closed.

As time ticked by, an inexplicable unease welled up inside him, and he felt that something was increasingly amiss.

This was completely unlike Wen Yu’s usual self; she usually rose early and would come down for breakfast in the morning.

The manservant frowned, looked around, and seeing no one, he quickly headed upstairs.

At this time, apart from Wen Yu still in her room on the second floor, the other rooms were empty.

The manservant no longer held back and walked directly to her door, gently knocking a few times.

He stood at the door for a while, but no sound came from inside the room.

Feeling a tightness in his heart, he quickly knocked a few more times.

This time, he used more force.

However, there was still no response from inside the room.

The manservant realized something was wrong and immediately took out his phone to call Yeying.

In less than ten minutes, Nangong Xu arrived with a medical kit.

After exchanging a few words with the manservant, the two went upstairs to Wen Yu’s room.

They knocked on the door, but there was still no response from inside.

Nangong Xu took out his phone and called Wen Yu’s number.

The crisp sound of a phone ringing came from inside the room.

Wen Yu was really in the room!

Nangong Xu didn’t hesitate anymore, raising his leg to forcefully kick the door.

Though he usually wouldn’t reveal his abilities, the door seemed to be made of paper in front of him.

The lock was kicked open with a single blow, and the door flew forward, crashing to the ground.

Nangong Xu strode into the room and immediately saw Wen Yu lying quietly under the covers on the bed.

He quickly approached the bed and reached out to check her breathing.

Suddenly, his fingers lightly trembled.

Wen Yu had stopped breathing.

Nangong Xu quickly raised his hand to hold her wrist, his fingers pressing against the pulse point.

But the temperature was cold to the touch, and there was no pulse.

She had been dead for a long time.

“Notify Mr. Xiaojiu.”

He frowned, his gaze scanning everything in the room.

The door was locked, and the room’s only window was locked from the inside as well.

The manservant had said that no one had entered Wen Yu’s room.

Even last night, he and the other servants took turns watching from below.

Who could have killed her so silently?

Nangong Xu and Wen Yu were not close; if it weren’t for Mr. Xiaojiu, he wouldn’t have even looked at her.

Yet, the fact that someone could commit murder in the Mu Mansion still shocked him.

The manservant immediately called Yeying again to report what had happened.

After the call, Nangong Xu looked at him and said, “Go and notify Mr.Xuri and the others.”

The manservant nodded and left.

In fact, he didn’t need to notify them.

The sound of Nangong Xu kicking the door just now was loud enough to alarm everyone in the main house.

Several people were now standing in the hall, looking for the source of the noise.

Even Mu Lingchuan and Zimo had returned from the backyard, and the number of people in the hall suddenly increased.

Seeing the manservant coming downstairs, Mu Xuri’s gaze immediately turned icy.

“What were you doing upstairs? Is that a place you can just go to freely?”
