The male servant immediately became timid in front of Mu Xuri, looking a bit panicked.

“M-Master, something happened, Madam had an accident.”

Mu Xuri frowned, “What happened?”

“Madam passed away, Mr. Nangong is upstairs checking.”

The people in the hall were suddenly shocked, Madam died? How could it be?

She was perfectly fine during dinner last night, how could she suddenly die?

One after another, the disbelief was evident.

A person, so fine, how could they suddenly die?

Ning Anran’s eyes were filled with panic; although she didn’t like Wen Yu and wanted to step on her.

But she never expected that Wen Yu would actually die.

Her gaze fell on Mu Xuri, feeling inexplicably that this had something to do with him.

Mu Xuri’s brows furrowed deeply, his expression grave.

“Let’s go up and see.”

Ning Anran hurriedly walked over, pushing him into the elevator.

Mu Lingchuan also felt a bit anxious, but with Zimo by his side, he couldn’t rush up immediately.

He could only support Zimo and head to the second floor as quickly as possible.

The group arrived at Wen Yu’s room, and Nangong Xu saw Mu Xuri and immediately made way for him beside the bed.

Mu Xuri gave Nangong Xu a cold look and let Ning Anran push him to Wen Yu’s bedside.

He looked down; Wen Yu’s face was peaceful, appearing serene, with eyes gently closed, seemingly no different from usual except her face was slightly paler.

Mu Xuri’s trembling hands reached out, holding Wen Yu’s right hand in his palm.

Her hand was cold, without a trace of warmth.

“What happened to her? Nangong Xu, hurry up and save her!”

Nangong Xu looked at him lightly, his eyes fluctuating.

“She has been gone for a long time.”

“How did she suddenly go? What exactly happened?”

Mu Xuri’s eye corners trembled slightly, his voice sounding heartbreaking.

Such an expression would surely make others believe that the gentleman was deeply saddened by his wife’s death.

Mu Lingchuan supported Zimo, standing not far behind Mu Xuri. He couldn’t bear to let Zimo witness such a scene.

“You should go back to your room.”

Zimo wanted to go over and see Wen Yu. Yesterday, they had still talked together, and she couldn’t believe Wen Yu suddenly died for no reason.

Though she didn’t have much affection for Wen Yu, always feeling Wen Yu belonged to Mu Xuri and was Xiaxia’s enemy.

But, ultimately, it was still a human life.

“Go back first.” This time, Mu Lingchuan’s voice was more determined.

For someone pregnant, seeing too much of this scene wasn’t good.

Zimo looked at An Ran sleeping in bed with Wen Yu, hesitated for a bit, then nodded.

Now with a child, her heart indeed wasn’t as strong anymore.

Such a scene made her feel sad.

After Zimo left, Mu Lingchuan looked at Nangong Xu and asked, “What was the cause?”

Nangong Xu looked at him before shifting his gaze back to Mu Xuri, saying, “She died of heart disease.”

“Heart disease?” Mu Lingchuan’s gaze fell on Mu Xuri’s back, surprised.

“I didn’t notice Wen Yu had any heart problems.”

He wasn’t sure, after all, Wen Yu hadn’t been back at the Mu Mansion for long, and their interactions weren’t many.

Perhaps, the third uncle would know.

Mu Xuri’s hand trembled slightly, as if gathering his sorrowful thoughts.

He didn’t turn around; his gaze still lingered on Wen Yu’s face.

“She indeed had heart issues a few years ago, but because she was young, she didn’t pay much attention to it; who would have thought…”

“It’s entirely my fault for not making her get more check-ups?”
