“Sir, why don’t we go back first?”

Seeing Mu Xuri being mistreated here, Leng Yu felt upset.

But she didn’t have the courage to vent at Mr. Xiaojiu’s people, so she could only try to comfort Mu Xuri.

Mu Xuri shook his head; he couldn’t leave.

He needed to find out the current progress of this matter clearly.

Otherwise, he would fall into passivity.

From the hall, sounds of someone coming downstairs echoed.

Mu Xuri’s heart tightened, knowing that Jiu was coming down.

In less than a minute, Mu Xiaojiu’s tall figure appeared at the entrance of the hall.

He glanced over at Mu Xuri and walked straight to the stone table in the courtyard to sit down.

That demeanor had lost all respect for Mu Xuri long ago.

Mu Xuri had no choice but to endure and signaled Leng Yu to push him over.

“Jiu, what’s going on? Has something happened?”

Mu Xiaojiu looked at him indifferently, saying nothing.

His deep-set eyes were inscrutable, impossible to read his thoughts.

Seeing him not speak, Mu Xuri asked again, “You’ve returned, why didn’t you attend Lingchuan’s wedding? They’re all waiting for you there.”

Yet, Mu Xiaojiu still said nothing, leaving Mu Xuri growing impatient.

“Jiu, what’s the matter? You can tell me, I might be able to give you some advice.”

“You truly don’t know?” Mu Xiaojiu’s voice was chillingly cold, making Leng Yu shiver instantly.

“Jiu, what are you talking about? If I knew, why would I come to ask you?”

Mu Xuri pretended to be confused, his expression showing a hint of displeasure.

Mu Xiaojiu slightly furrowed his brow; even now, Third Brother wanted to hide something.

He asked, “You came to find someone, right?”

“Find someone? I came to find you,” Mu Xuri continued feigning ignorance.

“I heard from others that you’ve returned and saw you didn’t go to Lingchuan’s wedding for so long, so I came over to check.”

Mu Xiaojiu’s heart sank slightly and said, “You’ve found me now; you can go back.”

“Not attending Lingchuan’s wedding would be unreasonable, right?”

“I’ll explain to Lingchuan.”

Mu Xuri grew a little anxious, as he couldn’t probe the medical room’s situation this way.

He lowered his gaze in thought and finally came up with an excuse.

“By the way, Jiu, I had a servant who said she was going to deliver some wedding candy to Ye Hua.”

“She hasn’t returned yet. Have you seen her?”

Mu Xiaojiu’s fingers twitched slightly; finally, they were getting to the main point.

“I’ve seen her. She’s still alive.”

“Alive? Jiu, what does that mean?”

Mu Xuri hurriedly asked, clearly showing some tension in his eyes.

Mu Xiaojiu’s gaze flickered, keeping everything in his eyes.

Mu Xuri quickly realized his faux pas and explained, “Did something happen to her? She wasn’t supposed to leave the banquet today.”

“But she’s always been well-behaved on my side, doing her work well. That’s why I agreed to let her come.”

“What’s going on? You have so many people here; it shouldn’t have anything to do with her, right?”

Mu Xiaojiu coldly observed him, remaining silent for a while.

The courtyard was eerily quiet, with only the slight rustling of spring breeze moving the leaves.

“Is she really just your servant?”

“Yes, she’s just a servant. Did she do something wrong and offend you?”

“Hand her over to me, and I’ll surely discipline her when we return.”

There was no need to continue the conversation here.

Mu Xiaojiu stood up, saying, “I’ll keep this person. I’ll hand her over to you after dealing with things.”

With that, he no longer paid attention to Mu Xuri and turned to head towards the side yard of the medical room.
