Be Gentle, My Master
Chapter 2301
The incidents before the coma slowly returned to her mind.
In Ye Zi’s heart, a trace of complex emotions flowed.
It was Baili Xia who saved her, using her blood to save her life.
A light footstep came from outside the door, and Ye Zi quickly closed her eyes.
That footstep slowed as it reached the door.
Step by step, it quietly reached the bedside.
As if afraid of waking her up.
Baili Xia lowered her eyes to look at Ye Zi, whose pallor had long since faded, gradually turning rosy.
The poison was completely cleared, she was alright.
Her gaze fell on that familiar face, the slightly twitching eyelids catching her eye.
“You’re awake?” she said softly.
Knowing there was no way to hide anymore, Ye Zi slowly opened her eyes, looking at her indifferently.
“Don’t expect me to thank you. I didn’t need you to save me in the first place.”
Baili Xia smiled lightly and said gently, “I didn’t intend for you to thank me either.”
“I just came to tell you something.”
To make her more comfortable, Baili Xia had someone replace the chains with longer ones.
Ye Zi moved her body and sat up.
She looked at Baili Xia, her voice icy.
“Don’t think you’ll get anything from me. I won’t tell you anything.”
“I’m not here to get information from you. I just want to tell you a story.”
Ye Zi frowned, she wasn’t interested in listening to a story.
The only reason she was still willing to live was the hope of possibly escaping.
Seeing her silence, Baili Xia sat down on the chair beside her.
She organized her thoughts, and the past turned into words, coming out one by one.
“A long time ago, there were five little girls in an orphanage, they were good friends…”
…
The story was somewhat long, and Baili Xia told it slowly.
She hoped Ye Zi could gradually absorb it.
Even if she couldn’t remember everything, awakening a fragment of her past memory would be good.
Ye Zi listened quietly, initially rejecting and unwilling to hear Baili Xia’s nonsense.
But as she listened, those unadorned words seemed to resonate with her deep inside.
Why did it all seem so familiar?
“One day, one girl was adopted and never saw those girls again until many years later…”
Suddenly, Baili Xia stopped.
Beads of sweat appeared on Ye Zi’s forehead, her face turned pale.
The memories made her head ache intensely.
Baili Xia had experienced it before, she knew that kind of pain could be unbearable.
She dared not continue, quickly standing to bring a glass of water over.
“Don’t think about it anymore, here, have some water.”
Ye Zi raised her slightly trembling hand to take the cup, drinking it in one gulp.
Just now, her head suddenly started to hurt more and more, something that had never happened before.
It seemed that the more she thought about what Baili Xia was telling her, the more intense the headache became.
Baili Xia took a towel to wipe the sweat from her forehead, and after drinking the water, Ye Zi felt much better.
She raised her hand to cover her forehead, saying, “My head really hurt just now.”
“I know, I’ve experienced what you’re going through.”
Meeting Ye Zi’s somewhat surprised gaze, she continued, “I was hypnotized by someone too.”
“You’re saying I was hypnotized?” Ye Zi clearly didn’t believe it.
“Yes, some experts can hypnotize parts of your memory. Once you try to touch those memories, the pain will be intense.”
“My symptoms back then were exactly the same as yours now.”
