Be Gentle, My Master
Chapter 2337
Baili Xia went back to her room, tidied herself up a bit, and then finally headed downstairs.
When she reached the side hall, she saw Bei Tianyou sitting in the main seat at a glance.
He was dressed in a white casual outfit, fresh and understated.
Long, sword-like brows, a high nose bridge, and deep-set eyes complemented the sharply contoured face.
This time seeing him, his complexion was much better than the last time.
It seemed Brother You’s health was getting better and better.
“Brother You.” Baili Xia called softly as she walked toward him.
Seeing Baili Xia, the corners of Bei Tianyou’s lips tugged up slightly of their own accord.
This girl had finally come back safe and sound.
At the wedding at the Mu Mansion last time, he’d vaguely sensed that something was off.
Sure enough, news soon spread that Mu Xuri had fallen from power, and that Baili Yang had been cleared of false charges.
The storm in the Mu Mansion had been far more intense than he’d imagined; fortunately, Mu Xiaojiu had been there.
In the end, everything returned to calm.
What he hadn’t expected was that this girl would suffer such serious injuries to save Mu Xiaojiu, and almost die at the hands of the Assassin.
When he rushed over, this girl was still in the operating room.
He’d sent over all the best medicine he had on hand.
Luckily, her life was tough enough that she pulled through.
Once Baili Xia sat down in the seat beside him, Bei Tianyou said lightly, “No problems with your body now?”
Baili Xia knew what he meant, and smiled as she countered, “I can jump around just fine now, so I guess that means I’m okay, right?”
The corners of Bei Tianyou’s lips unconsciously curved into a faint smile. Since this girl could still joke, it looked like everything really was fine.
Seeing that she truly was all right, the stone in his heart finally settled.
“Where’s Mu Xiaoyao? Why didn’t he come down with you?”
Baili Xia had just opened her mouth to speak when she suddenly paused.
This was Bei Miao, after all, the Bei Family’s territory.
She didn’t know what the Bei Family would think of the things Brother was doing outside.
It was better not to say too much.
After thinking for a moment, she said, “Brother went to see a friend. He said he’ll be back later.”
Bei Tianyou’s sword-like brows moved slightly. He nodded faintly and didn’t press further.
Baili Xia let her gaze sweep around the room and asked, “Where’s Guisu? Why don’t I see him?”
“There’s some training today. He’s leading the brothers in drills on the back mountain and will be back tonight.”
Baili Xia nodded and didn’t say anything more.
She’d promised Guisu she would come see him in a month, and when the time came, she’d really been afraid he would abandon the matters on Brother You’s side and run back to Jin City to find her.
Fortunately, she’d soothed him over the phone and persuaded him to stay.
As they spoke, the servants brought the dishes in.
Baili Xia stood up, ladled a bowl of soup for Bei Tianyou, and placed it in front of him.
Sitting back down in her chair, she looked at Bei Tianyou and asked, “Brother You, has the date for the Defense Camp’s competition been set?”
“By the looks of it, there’s about two months left.”
Baili Xia nodded. Two months—long if you said long, short if you said short.
Back when they’d been fighting for the qualification to represent the Bei Family, Guisu had helped Bei Tianyou a lot.
Once Guisu helped Bei finish the competition, he should be able to get on with his own life.
“I wonder how the training’s going now. Do you have a good chance of winning the competition?”
Bei Tianyou looked relaxed as he said, “This time, several major families in Bei Miao will be taking part.”
“Their power varies, some strong, some weak, but compared to us, they’re still a bit behind.”
Seeing him so confident, Baili Xia unconsciously let out a breath of relief.
It seemed he was determined to win this competition.
