Be Gentle, My Master
Chapter 2510
One of the black-clad adversaries gave a cold snort and shouted into the cave, “Come out, your tricks have been uncovered, and they won’t work anymore.”
Baili Xia remained motionless, hidden behind the corner.
The first layer of defense had been breached, now it was time for an actual fight.
She listened intently, paying close attention to the footsteps.
The two were getting closer, their flashlights sweeping through the cave.
As the light swept over from the corner and onto the other side, Baili Xia squinted her eyes and suddenly dashed out.
Silver needles shot towards them again, only to hear two thuds as they were intercepted by the tree bark in their hands.
Baili Xia didn’t hesitate and immediately hid back behind the corner.
This time, following the direction of the hidden weapon, the black-clad adversaries instantly pinpointed Baili Xia’s position.
“Over there,” shouted one of the black-clad men.
He waved his hand, signaling for his men to follow.
Having locked onto Baili Xia’s position, they wasted no time and immediately moved toward her.
“Come out, we can see you,” the black-clad man shouted again toward where Baili Xia was hiding.
Hearing his shout, Baili Xia couldn’t help clenching her fists tighter.
She glanced back to see Wu Ming sitting on the ground, resting against the wall.
Weakened, he no longer had the strength to fight, his once sharp eyes now tightly closed.
Baili Xia felt a painful tug in her heart; she must not let them discover Wu Ming hiding there.
With his current condition, if discovered, he would undoubtedly be their first target.
Their goal was her; as long as they captured her, their objective would be achieved, and Wu Ming would be safe.
With this thought, Baili Xia reached for and pulled out the dagger from her waist.
This was the dagger given to her by her Uncle, and today, she would use it to protect Wu Ming.
Even if it meant dying here, she would fight the enemy to the last moment.
Uncle, bless me.
Baili Xia silently prayed, listening closely.
The footsteps drew nearer, eight meters, five meters, three meters, two meters…
She gritted her teeth and suddenly dashed out, appearing in front of the two black-clad men.
Taking advantage of their momentary surprise, Baili Xia charged at them with the dagger.
They were too close; the one in front couldn’t dodge and had to raise the tree bark to block.
But the bark, thin as it was, could stop silver needles but not the sharp dagger.
The dagger pierced through the bark, stabbing into his chest, leaving a deep wound.
With a successful hit, Baili Xia immediately retreated.
The other man, seeing his comrade injured, ignored him and immediately drew his dagger to pursue Baili Xia.
The cave was small, and after only a few steps back, Baili Xia clashed with him.
But he was not only more skilled, he was also much stronger; in the fight, Baili Xia was clearly at a disadvantage.
She barely avoided the dagger thrust by the black-clad man when his left hand formed a fist and swiftly attacked her face.
Baili Xia quickly ducked her head to dodge, but he was far more experienced than she was.
Seeing her duck, he immediately lifted his leg and swept it towards her.
Baili Xia had to fall backward, rolling on the ground to barely avoid it.
Hearing the fighting inside, the leader of the black-clad men outside quickly ordered two more people to enter the cave.
Baili Xia caught sight of the two more entering from the corner of her eye, her heart tightening.
One was already tough enough; with two more, she had no chance at all.
