Suddenly, the car came to an abrupt stop.

“What happened?”

Is there another unexpected incident near the Bei Family’s place?

Bei Xier was worried in her heart, and she looked forward.

Ahead, there were several black SUVs parked by the roadside, with some black-clad individuals standing beside them.

They didn’t have their headlights on, and nothing was visible in the night. It was only upon getting close that one could notice their presence.

Those people clearly noticed Mu Xiaoyao’s car and turned their gaze this way, as if trying to figure out who they were.

Seeing their car stop, the black-clad individuals began whispering among themselves.

Mu Xiaoyao looked at them, feeling a bit conflicted inside.

The presence of these people in black indicated that Uncle and that girl were still in the mountains.

However, now that they’re aware of him, can he still go look for Uncle and the others?

He glanced at Bei Xier beside him and felt even more hesitant.

If he were alone, perhaps he could shake them off and enter the mountains.

But with this woman…

Mu Xiaoyao made a decision, immediately turning the car around and heading back down the mountain.

The black-clad individuals noticed their car turning around and instantly realized something.

The leader waved his hand, and some people got into their cars, swiftly pursuing Mu Xiaoyao.

Mu Xiaoyao glanced at the rearview mirror, his sword-like eyebrows tightly knit.

They’ve caught up, and the goal was achieved.

There weren’t that many people chasing them, hopefully, they can escape the pursuit of the black-clad individuals.

Long Ting and the others should be arriving soon.

Mu Xiaoyao turned off the headlights and sped forward relentlessly.

But, this old car could only reach a top speed of 100 kilometers per hour.

Soon, those SUVs got closer and closer.

Bei Xier looked back, seeing those cars less than a hundred meters behind, and her heart was tense.

These people are ruthless murderers, obviously intending to kill her directly.

She had a feeling that the target of these black-clad individuals was her.

However, she had never offended such people, why did they want to kill her?

Sure enough, just as the thought passed through her mind, gunfire sounded from behind.

In the dead of night on the winding mountain road, the gunfire was abrupt and piercing.

Shortly after, sporadic gunshots came from behind.

Fortunately, the distance was a bit far, and the car was in motion, so those bullets didn’t hit their vehicle.

Watching the cars get closer in the rearview mirror, the crease between Mu Xiaoyao’s brows deepened.

If this continues, once they’re close, there’s no escaping.

Suddenly, Mu Xiaoyao jerked the steering wheel, changing course, heading for the city.

In the suburbs, there’s no outrunning these cars, so heading to the city was the only option.

Even though the Bei Family might be looking for them in the city, they probably wouldn’t dare to shoot so blatantly in the city.

Sure enough, once they entered the city, those people noticeably restrained themselves, and no gunshots were heard from behind anymore.

On the city roads, several cars continued at high speed, racing down the lanes.

At this hour, there were still quite a few vehicles on the city’s roads.

Mu Xiaoyao’s driving skills were like that of a racing driver, weaving left and right through the traffic, occasionally drifting in sharp turns.

Bei Xier was terrified, gripping the handle at the top right corner tightly, not daring to open her eyes.

Every time she opened them, it felt like they’d crash into the car in front.

Such dangerous driving immediately had a huge impact on traffic.

Soon, the sound of police sirens approached from afar.
