As soon as they heard the sound of police cars, those people noticeably became more restrained, and the car slowed down.

After all, they were the ones in trouble, and if they got tangled up with the police and were discovered with guns, it would be quite troublesome.

Mu Xiaoyao took advantage of this time and stepped hard on the accelerator.

He ran a red light directly and soon disappeared into the bustling night.

But even without cars behind, Mu Xiaoyao did not dare to be careless.

The car zigzagged through the city and finally stopped in a small alley.

Bei Xier let out a soft breath, and only at this moment did her heart relax.

“Finally safe.”

Her gaze fell on Mu Xiaoyao, with a hint of excitement in her heart.

Mu Xiaoyao ignored her, his face stern.

Bei Xier composed herself, knowing he had something on his mind, and didn’t disturb him further.

Mu Xiaoyao took out a phone, intending to make a call.

Unexpectedly, the phone powered off due to no battery.

His handsome face turned completely gloomy, it was already night, and he still couldn’t reach that girl.

Were they out of danger yet?

Seeing his mood was awful, Bei Xier thought for a moment and began to comfort, “I believe that Xiaxia, such a good girl, will definitely be okay.”

Mu Xiaoyao glanced at her lightly and nodded.

The atmosphere inside the car was exceptionally oppressive, neither of them speaking, as if time had come to a halt.

Mu Xiaoyao hid the car in the alley and didn’t leave again.

Tonight, those people were bound to search the entire city for them.

Outside, there were also Nangong Yun’s people.

He had to stay to protect Bei Xier’s safety. Only she could clear everything up and prove the girl’s innocence.

Bei Xier’s eyelids grew heavier, unable to lift them.

Eventually, she leaned back in the seat and fell asleep.

…

The sky lightened, and when Bei Xier woke up, it was already another day of cars moving back and forth outside.

She blinked her blurry eyes, the dazzling sunlight making her quickly close them again.

After a while, she adapted to the harsh light and opened her eyes again.

“Where are we going now?” She instinctively looked beside her.

Mu Xiaoyao was determined, with both hands on the steering wheel, seriously driving.

On his intricately sculpted face, a hint of weariness was not hard to see.

Mu Xiaoyao didn’t speak, he casually grabbed a bag next to him and tossed it to Bei Xier.

Upon opening it, she found it was breakfast.

Inside were soy milk and buns.

Bei Xier inexplicably felt a touch of emotion, this man might be a bit rough.

But after realizing it was a misunderstanding, he treated her well and even saved her.

Though, he had no money, surely the breakfast was bought with her money.

“Thank you, have you eaten?”

Mu Xiaoyao didn’t speak, but seeing Bei Xier slow to act, he nodded.

Bei Xier picked up a bun and started eating silently, after a couple of bites, she suddenly said, “Sorry, I fell asleep last night.”

She could imagine that a person like him would be highly alert in such dangerous times and would never sleep.

But she could fall asleep peacefully beside him.

Bei Xier blamed herself silently, lacking vigilance; second, she felt guilty for letting him hold on alone all night.

Mu Xiaoyao glanced at her and said lightly, “Feeling guilty?”

Bei Xier nodded, her gentle gaze on him, not knowing what he wanted to say.

“You don’t need to feel guilty, just explain things clearly.”

Mu Xiaoyao’s eyes scanned the road, finally settling on a place, and the car slowly moved past.
