Wu Ming’s consciousness seemed somewhat blurred, and he kept talking nonsense.

Baili Xia quickly got up, wanting to go to the bathroom to get a towel to wipe him down and reduce his fever.

As soon as she turned around, her hand was pulled.

“Girl, don’t leave, don’t go…”

That large hand held her so tightly, as if desperately trying to pull her back.

Baili Xia was deeply shocked. People say that the words spoken in dreams are one’s true thoughts.

Wu Ming’s reliance on her had reached this point.

She had no choice but to stop and squat by the bedside again, holding that large hand and continuously soothing him.

“Wu Ming, I’m here. I haven’t left. I’m always here.”

Seeing that he was still resisting, Baili Xia’s eyes showed a complex look, and she unintentionally increased the grip on his hand.

“Wu Ming, can you hear me? I’m Xiaxia, right here beside you.”

“I’m fine, really, I’m okay now. Wu Ming, you don’t need to worry, just sleep…”

It’s unclear if Wu Ming could really hear her voice, but his grip lightened a bit.

The tightly furrowed brows gradually relaxed.

Seeing Wu Ming’s lips slightly curl into a smile, Baili Xia couldn’t help but reach out to gently wipe the sweat off his forehead.

This version of Wu Ming made her heartache; how important she must be to him to warrant such treatment.

Baili Xia sat there, gently patting the back of Wu Ming’s hand, continuously comforting him.

Until Wu Ming’s breathing became steady again, she gently withdrew her hand from his large grasp.

Getting up, she hurried to the bathroom to get a hot towel, once again wiping his forehead and limbs.

Then she picked up the IV bag and administered it to him.

She had anticipated he would have a fever. There were mild symptoms in the cave yesterday, but she hadn’t expected it to become this severe.

The IV is for anti-inflammatory use, and two bags should alleviate the fever.

After hanging the IV bag, Bai Li Xia picked up the medicine box and turned to leave.

But after only two steps, her wrist suddenly tightened, and the next second she was forcefully pulled back to sit on the bedside.

Baili Xia lowered her eyes to look at Wu Ming lying there, her willow brows involuntarily knitting.

He still kept his eyes tightly shut, though the twitching eyelids showed he was sleeping uneasily.

“Wu Ming, what’s wrong with you?”

Was he awake, pulling her this way?

Wu Ming’s eyelids twitched a few times before slowly opening.

His dark eyes revealed weakness, gazing deeply at Baili Xia without uttering a single word.

Baili Xia gently exhaled and put the medicine box down again.

“I’m thirsty…”

After a long silence, Wu Ming coughed softly before speaking hoarsely.

Baili Xia cursed herself silently, finally realizing.

She had neglected this point. After losing so much blood and going through such an ordeal, the body was already severely dehydrated.

Only after Wu Ming mentioned it did she feel her own dry mouth.

If she felt this way, Wu Ming must feel it even more.

“Hold on, I’ll get you some right away.”

Lowering her eyes to look at Wu Ming’s pale lips, Baili Xia’s voice carried an extra hint of apology.

She pulled her hand out from Wu Ming’s grasp, stood up, and quickly walked to the side table. She filled a cup with water from the kettle and carried it back to the bedside.

She pulled up a chair beside Wu Ming, placed the warm water, and reached out to help Wu Ming sit up.

Every move was so careful, afraid of accidentally hurting him again.
