Be Gentle, My Master
Chapter 29: In his world a mistake is just a mistake_1
Being held in the arms of a man in front of so many people made Baili Xia feel a bit uneasy.
Although this man was obviously standing up for her today, before this, he was the one who had caused her trouble.
She delicately tugged at Mu Xiaojiu’s sleeve, whispering against her better judgment, “Mr.
Xiaojiu, can you…
let me down first?”
She was never one to enjoy being in the limelight, but today, there seemed to be no avoiding it.
Mu Xiaojiu didn’t respond, quite contrary, his hold on her tightened.
Baili Xia dared not utter another word.
Silently, she cast her gaze ahead to the dozens of girls, her expression was emotionless.
Resentment, dissatisfaction, fear, regret, were all expressed in the girls’ eyes.
Just a casual glance was enough for Baili Xia to take in the expressions painted across their faces.
She didn’t have many strengths, but one thing she excelled at was her impeccable memory.
“Who hit you yesterday?
Let them step forward.” The man’s deep voice echoed overhead.
His voice was soft, but in the silent hall, where a single pin drop could have been heard, everyone heard him.
Suddenly, the girls in front began to retreat, with some already uncontrollably crying out loudly.
Before Mr.
Xiaojiu had declared any intended punishment, they were already distressed to the point of fainting.
Baili Xia felt helpless; she knew that Mu Xiaojiu wouldn’t be satisfied until he got an answer.
As she looked back at the girls, one finally broke down under the immense pressure and rushed forward, falling to her knees.
“Mr.
Xiaojiu, I was wrong…
I was just joining the crowd, I really was wrong.
Please, have mercy on me, Mr.
Xiaojiu!”
She begged for mercy, then turned her eyes to Baili Xia, and tearfully said: “Xiaxia, we have no grudges, I was merely influenced by them to join in.
Xiaxia, you’re magnaminous, please grant me your forgiveness.”
Baili Xia remained silent, still clutching Mu Xiaojiu’s sleeve.
Mu Xiaojiu only gave the girl a brief glance before coldly ordering: “Chop off her hand.”
Hand…
chop off!
With just one sentence, a gasp of shock echoed in the air.
Not only was the girl almost scared to faint, but the others were also visibly shocked.
“Yes.” Ye Hua responded, glancing over at two bodyguards not far away.
The two nodded and marched toward the kneeling girl.
“No!
No!
Mr.
Xiaojiu, I admit my mistake!
Mr.
Xiaojiu, I have admitted my mistake!” The girl cried in terror, her voice nearly gone.
“Mr.
Xiaojiu, I really admit my mistake, Mr.
Xiaojiu…”
Mu Xiaojiu didn’t even bat an eye.
In his world, once you’ve made a mistake, that’s that.
“Mr.
Xiaojiu, Xiaxia, Xiaxia…” When the girl saw that Mr.
Xiaojiu had no intention to change his mind, she immediately began pleading with Baili Xia when the two bodyguards began dragging her away.
“Mr.
Xiaojiu…” Baili Xia looked at Mu Xiaojiu.
She really didn’t want to witness such a gory scene, especially since the girl hadn’t really done much to her; it wasn’t a capital offense.
“Are you wanting to beg for her?” Mu Xiaojiu raised an eyebrow, his eyes glinted with clear displeasure.
Baili Xia knew he wouldn’t like her showing sympathy to those who previously bullied her.
He would see it as weakness.
“She didn’t hit me.” If she couldn’t prevent the bloodbath today, could she at least minimize the harm?
Meeting Mu Xiaojiu’s inscrutable gaze, she took a deep breath before confidently speaking: “Rather, I would prefer to punish them myself.”
She blinked her eyes, an expression of pleading flashing within them: “Mr.
Xiaojiu, let me…
let off my own steam, alright?”
