Be Gentle, My Master
Chapter 571: Master among Masters_1
Upon arrival, Baili Xia easily climbed down from Bai’s back.
She walked to the flat piece of ground ahead and swiftly drew out the silver chain.
The mysterious man had not arrived, but she still needed to train on her own.
Wielding the silver chain on the open space, she practiced for at least half an hour before stopping.
Her chest rising and falling rapidly, she returned to Bai’s side, panting.
She took a bottle of water from the bag hanging on the horse’s back, twisted the cap off, and drank several gulps consecutively.
Tonight, the mysterious man would definitely not come.
After several days without training, he probably thought she had given up?
Without his company, her progress seemed to slow down significantly.
It seemed that a true master was indeed necessary to produce a capable student.
But, if the master didn’t come, there was nothing she could do.
Feeling a tad disappointed, she drank a few more mouthfuls of water, then returned to the open space, preparing to continue her practice.
Unexpectedly, from the corner of her eye, she saw a figure emerge from the shadows.
He was still dressed in the same head-to-toe black clothing.
Under the night sky, he appeared not only mysterious but also exuded a cold, stern aura that made him seem unapproachable.
Baili Xia paused, her eyes brightening as she confirmed that it was indeed the mysterious man in black.
She sprinted towards him excitedly, “You’ve come!”
The man in black merely nodded, not saying a word, and moved with her toward the open space.
“You… how did you know I’d be here tonight?” Was he really her Brother?
She tried to get a better look at him, but the moonlight was faint, and the light source was weak; she couldn’t make out his face clearly.
Even his eyes remained indistinct.
He always gave off a faint medicinal scent that obscured his natural odor.
He didn’t resemble her Brother.
However, since Uncle had left Jin City these past few days, it couldn’t be him either.
Even though this man in black, whether by his height, build, or the impression he gave her, increasingly resembled Uncle,
After tonight, she would no longer harbor such suspicions.
Since Uncle wasn’t in Jin City, how could the man in front of her be him?
The mysterious man ignored her question, walked to the open area, and stood at one side observing her.
Baili Xia smiled at him and retreated a few steps before immediately continuing her practice.
She had already become very proficient in her moves.
Her handling of the silver chain—swinging it out and pulling it back—was swift and decisive, free from any hesitation.
Even using the silver chain to pick up a stone from the ground and throw it indicated some skill, though she was still somewhat lacking.
As the mysterious man walked over, Baili Xia promptly halted and swiftly handed him the chain.
The mysterious man took the silver chain and only moved when he saw her watching him attentively.
With a swish, he flung the silver chain out.
The end of the chain wrapped around a rock larger than a fist on the ground, and lifted it off.
With a casual flick of his wrist, the stone was propelled by the chain and hurled, with a whoosh, towards a distant cliff.
With a smack, it was lodged tightly in a crevice of the cliff!
Baili Xia stared, awestruck.
The force with which he had used the silver chain to lift and hurl the stone was nothing short of terrifying!
Considering the strength and speed needed to embed a stone in a cliff wall, what difference was there between getting hit with this stone or a bullet?
She hurriedly ran over and, sure enough, found the stone tightly embedded in the cliff wall.
Despite her best efforts to remove it, she couldn’t budge it at all.
“You… you really are a master among masters, that’s just amazing!”
She turned back to look at the mysterious man, excitement shining in her eyes.
“Teach me that move you just did! Now!”
