Uncertain of how to respond, Baili Xia’s eyes flickered.

She bowed her head to pick up a piece of pastry, offering it to Mu Xiaojiu’s lips.

“Uncle, why did you suddenly ask me to come over and study?

Are you really going to supervise my homework?”

“Hmm,” Mu Xiaojiu responded lightly.

He wasn’t oblivious to her attempt to move the conversation away, but he was equally interested in the topic she raised, so he chose not to challenge it.

Once she had finished serving him his food, he pressed an intercom button.

The staff arrived promptly to tidy up.

He stood up, walked to the drinks cabinet, and poured himself another drink.

“Uncle, I don’t drink. I have school tomorrow.”

Baili Xia, fearing he would insist, quickly rose, staring at his tall figure, refusing.

Mu Xiaojiu, holding his drink, slightly paused and turned to look at her nonchalantly.

Such a glance, half-profiled and shadowed…

He leaned against the table, his gaze lazy, the man himself seemed completely at ease.

This demeanor turned Baili Xia’s already chaotic breathing more erratic.

Her heart pounded like a runaway deer, showing signs of quickening further.

She swallowed hard, fearing that she might lose control in front of him.

Why does this extraordinary man always exude such potent allure?

She didn’t want to watch him, but her gaze kept straying towards him.

She told herself that it was a natural human instinct.

Everyone has a love for beauty, Uncle was definitely attractive, so it was not an issue to look a bit longer.

But why, the more she observed, the faster her heart pounded and the hotter her face felt?

Mu Xiaojiu, holding his drink, came back to his senses, lounged by the table and looked at her: “Come here.”

Like under a spell, Baili Xia immediately stepped towards him.

Yet after only two steps, she abruptly stopped.

Looking at him, her innocent wide eyes full of blame.

Why did she always go running to him whenever he called?

Like a love-struck fool, powerless against his charm?

She had told herself not to get lost because of him.

Yet, she always ended up dizzied by him.

When facing him, her self-control was paper-thin.

Now, she didn’t go to him but retreated a half-step.

She looked at him and cautiously asked, “Uncle, should we…

shouldn’t we be studying?”

“Having a bit of a drink might make the study more interesting.” Mu Xiaojiu pushed the wine glass towards her.

He hadn’t initially intended for her to drink; it was her who brought it up, reminding him.

She was indeed very tempting when tipsy.

With flushed cheeks, enraptured eyes, and her whole body supple and yielding, she was so irresistibly soft that he had to continuously keep himself in check.

“Come here,” he lightly called again.

Baili Xia wanted to retreat, but under his gaze, her outstretched foot drawn back involuntarily.

After another moment of hesitation, she obediently stepped towards him.

…

With one glass of red wine down, Baili Xia’s face was completely flushed.

Her radiant eyes seemed to be veiled by a thin layer of mist.

The intoxicating aroma of the wine and the misty look in her eyes instantly made her irresistibly seductive.

Even the normally composed Mu Xiaojiu almost lost control in the face of such beauty.

She was not drunk yet, just a bit tipsy.

She pushed Mu Xiaojiu gently to distance herself from him, her steps feeling a bit floaty as she retreated.

“Uncle, I’m going to study now. You can continue your work.”
