Be Gentle, My Master
Chapter 875: At Worst Take a Beating from Him
A week later, not only had Baili Xia fully recovered, but Nangong Xu had also mostly healed under her meticulous care.
After dinner that day, Baili Xia changed into a set of comfortable sportswear and headed to the backyard.
She realized she hadn’t seen Shengxue in a while and found herself quite missing it.
As soon as she arrived in the backyard and barely called out, a white shadow immediately dashed towards her.
Shengxue came up to Baili Xia, rubbing against her affectionately, an indescribable intimacy between them.
Baili Xia stroked Shengxue’s mane and patted its back.
“Shengxue, you seem to have grown taller.”
As if understanding the praise from its owner, Shengxue lifted its head high, desperately stretching, as if to show Baili Xia that it had indeed grown considerably.
Baili Xia chuckled, mounted the saddle, tightened the reins in her hand, nudged the horse’s flanks, and galloped towards the back mountain.
One person and one horse sprinted along, quickly arriving at their usual training ground.
Looking up, she saw a dark figure standing under a distant tree, a tall silhouette standing strong against the wind, emanating an indomitable virility.
To her surprise, he was waiting for her here.
Baili Xia leaped down from the horse, leading the reins up to Wu Ming, and hurriedly asked.
“Wu Ming, have you been waiting here for me?”
Wu Ming didn’t speak but patted Baili Xia on the head and turned towards the grass.
Baili Xia paused, surprised that Wu Ming had patted her head—was this a way of teasing a child?
However, Wu Ming seemed to be in a good mood today.
Baili Xia let go of Shengxue, allowing the horse to frolic on its own.
Following Wu Ming’s steps, she proceeded to the center of the grassland.
“I’m sorry, Wu Ming, I’ve been too busy lately and haven’t had time to train at night.”
If Wu Ming had been coming here every evening awaiting her, and she hadn’t shown up recently, that was really embarrassing for her.
Wu Ming shook his head, not minding at all.
He lifted his left hand and gestured for Baili Xia to approach.
Seeing Wu Ming’s motion, Baili Xia knew what it meant.
With a flick of her wrist, she whipped out the silver chain.
But unexpectedly, just as the chain had flown out, Wu Ming snatched it away in a swift motion.
“Wu Ming, you…”
Wu Ming, holding the silver chain, slowly approached Baili Xia, getting closer and closer until they were almost face to face.
Of course, Baili Xia could only see his chest.
“Wu Ming, you…” A faint scent of medicine wafted over, stirring a slight panic in Baili Xia.
What was Wu Ming trying to do today?
Wu Ming’s hands gently encircled Baili Xia’s waist from behind, pulled the silver chain around her, and fastened it at the front.
After locking the chain, Wu Ming stepped back, and Baili Xia finally let out a sigh of relief.
Wu Ming’s behavior today was indeed strange; his mood seemed uplifted, and he appeared more open.
But that affectionate gesture just now…
Well, she must have been overthinking it.
The way Wu Ming did it, how could it feel so natural, as if he was used to it?
Others must surely do it without thinking, it was just her reading too much into it.
Wu Ming gestured to invite her once more, and only then did Baili Xia realize what he had been implying.
It seemed he didn’t want her to use the chain but instead to train with him using hand-to-hand combat.
“But I don’t know any martial arts at all.”
Wu Ming simply nodded, his hand still suspended in mid-air.
Baili Xia resigned herself to her fate, thinking, alright, then die it is.
At worst, she’d take a beating from him!
