Be Gentle, My Master
Chapter 877: Don't Know How to Control
It was only when Baili Xia was sent back to the backyard that Wu Ming turned around and disappeared into a corner of the backyard.
Back in her room, Baili Xia took a bath and then sprawled out on the bed with her limbs spread wide.
She was exhausted, praying fervently that Uncle wouldn’t come looking for her, as she was so tired she could barely move her fingers.
Fortunately, she fell into a deep sleep, and Uncle didn’t send anyone to call her…
…
The next morning, Baili Xia lay in bed feeling even more sore than before.
Her entire body felt as if it had fallen apart, and if it weren’t for the upcoming exam, Baili Xia would probably not have gotten out of bed at all today.
Dragging her heavy footsteps, Baili Xia moved slowly to the restroom.
After washing up and finally changing her clothes, she immediately headed to the main house’s dining room.
By the time she arrived at the dining room, everyone was already eating, and Mu Ziying had come over this morning too.
Seeing how difficult it was for Baili Xia to walk, Mu Xiaoyao, who was closest to her, stood up and walked over to support her.
“What’s the matter? You’re so exhausted,” Mu Xiaoyao frowned slightly.
“I’m fine, Brother, it’s just that I overdid the training yesterday, and now my whole body hurts.”
“You should know how to moderate your training.”
Baili Xia gave a faint smile and did not reply.
Although indeed it was tough, Wu Ming was after all teaching her skills.
She truly found the techniques Wu Ming taught her very practical; every move was substantial and not just flashy tricks that were good for show but couldn’t be used in a real fight.
The moves she had learned yesterday were common techniques in close-quarter combat, which would surely be useful for self-defense in the future.
Mu Xiaoyao helped her to a seat next to his, assisting her to sit down.
“Uncle, good morning,” Baili Xia said to Uncle Mu Xiaojiu, who was sitting opposite and eating his breakfast.
Mu Xiaojiu just nodded his head without speaking.
Just as Baili Xia picked up her chopsticks, a calm voice came from beside her: “You have weak constitution; you need to train more.”
Baili Xia nodded, “Understood, Uncle.”
After this, they stopped talking and called for the servants to bring breakfast, each lowering their heads to eat.
While Baili Xia was focusing on her meal, Mu Ziying’s voice carried over.
“Brother, when will you be free?”
“For what?” Mu Lingchuan looked up at Mu Ziying.
“Guide me a bit in my martial arts sometime.
I’m afraid I’ll get beaten badly in the competition.”
“You were always meant to be beaten up anyway,” Mu Lingchuan raised his eyebrows, nearly laughing.
“Brother, come on, I am your sister, would you really let me become a mess?” Mu Ziying puckered her lips and complained.
“I wouldn’t mind at all.” A cheerful laughter suddenly filled the air.
Listening to their conversation, Baili Xia couldn’t help asking, “Ziying, what competition are you entering?”
“It’s the competition held by the Eight Big Families.
Next round is martial arts.”
Seeing her puzzled expression, Mu Ziying furrowed her brows, “No one has told you?”
Her gaze shifted towards Mu Xiaoyao.
Mu Xiaoyao said indifferently, “I thought your big mouth would have told her.”
Mu Ziying glanced at him and then addressed Baili Xia, “You need to hurry then.
Even if you can’t win, at least learn some self-defense, so you don’t end up looking like a mess.”
“Oh, I see.” Suddenly thinking of something, Baili Xia quickly asked, “Can we use weapons in the competition?”
“No, only hand-to-hand combat is allowed; you can’t use weapons.
Your chain won’t be of any help to you.”
