Be Gentle, My Master
Chapter 887: The Male God Not What He Seems
Brother, this lazybones…
She patted her head, trying to calm herself one last time.
After the irritation in her chest had fully dissipated, she went over, picked up the instant noodle box, and placed it in the nearby trash bin.
Then, turning back to look at the mess throughout the room, she felt helpless and sighed lightly before immediately starting to clean up.
It wasn’t that she pitied Brother; she just couldn’t bear to have such filth and disorder under her own eyes.
Those girls outside only saw the most glamorous side of a person, they had no idea that their idol, Mu, was nothing but a slob at home.
Clothes were strewn everywhere, shoes were kicked off haphazardly as soon as he entered the door, with no regard for where they ended up.
Books he’d read and cups he’d used were left in complete disarray.
She really felt like swearing out loud—couldn’t this idol be perfection inside and out?
Mu Xiaoyao didn’t stay in the shower for long; after about fifteen minutes, he walked out of the bathroom, dressed in clean clothes and with his damp, short hair trailing,
As he stepped into the living room, he could hardly believe his eyes.
The hall, which had been a complete mess when he returned, had been tidied with meticulous care, spotlessly clean, and even the floor had been swept and mopped.
The woman, holding a bag of trash, was just about to walk out the door.
He paused, said instinctively, “Leave it there, I’ll take it out later.”
“Are you staying here for lunch, or when are you going home?” Baili Xia turned to look at him, and thinking of the instant noodle box she had just cleaned up from the table, she began to feel a twinge of sympathy.
Actually, Brother was very busy, she knew that.
Like their oldest brother, he had his own business to attend to, except he was still a student and spent a lot of his time in the apartment.
But staying in the apartment didn’t mean he could just play around; there were many technical matters that required his personal attention.
Was he so busy that he didn’t even want to waste time on going out for a meal?
Mu Xiaoyao sat down on the sofa, wiped his short hair casually with a towel while his other hand was already on his laptop, turning it on.
Baili Xia glared at him and, without saying anything more, pushed the door open and left.
Watching the now-empty doorway, Mu Xiaoyao felt slightly stunned.
With her gone, the apartment seemed suddenly more spacious, as if something was missing.
When he first came out and saw her bustling about, something deep inside had been unexpectedly stirred.
Not sure what he was thinking, he suddenly felt a warmth, and felt as though the apartment had taken on a livelier atmosphere.
He continued to stare at the door, spacing out for a good fifteen minutes without realizing it.
It wasn’t until Baili Xia returned, carrying two large bags, that his gaze flickered, as if feeling guilty about something, he quickly averted his eyes back to his laptop screen.
The screensaver’s imagery was floating around—how long had he been staring at the doorway?
His laptop had entered screensaver mode without him noticing.
“What did you buy?” Seeing Baili Xia close the door and head to the kitchen with the bags, he asked out of curiosity.
“I’m going out for lunch in a bit, I’ve got plans with friends. Before I leave, I’ll fix you something, stop eating instant noodles, they’re not nutritious.”
No sooner had she spoken than Baili Xia, with the two large bags in tow, went inside.
Mu Xiaoyao stared at the computer screen, his large hand on the mouse, his fingers poised, yet he hesitated to click.
Suddenly, with a restless mood, he found himself uninterested even in the computer that usually enthralled him.
