Be Gentle, My Master
Chapter 890: Unease Spreading Through the Heart
Standing by the toilet, supporting her waist, Baili Xia had no idea how long she’d been dry heaving.
It was only with difficulty that she managed to suppress that nauseating feeling.
Returning to the wash basin, Baili Xia cupped some clear water and rinsed her mouth.
Her reflection in the mirror revealed a face that was slightly pale.
She herself didn’t know what was wrong, but she felt an indescribable sense of unease.
“I’ll take you to see a doctor,” Mu Xiaoyao said, appearing more anxious than her, as he took her hand and started to lead her out.
But Baili Xia resisted slightly, urgently saying, “I’m not going, I’m fine.
It’s probably just something unclean I ate today.”
“If you ate something unclean, then we should get it checked out even more,” Mu Xiaoyao insisted.
Baili Xia was even more stubborn, “No! I won’t go! I have an appointment, and I’m running late.”
Pushing his hand away forcefully, she didn’t understand why she was panicking.
Grabbing her purse, she didn’t even bother to tidy up the bowls and chopsticks, and hurried towards the door.
Mu Xiaoyao took a long stride, wanting to chase after her.
But she turned back and stared at him, a hint of urgency in her voice, “I said I’m fine, don’t follow me! I have plans with Zimo and Xiaoxiao. You wouldn’t take away my right to have friends, would you?”
Mu Xiaoyao just looked at her without saying a word.
It wasn’t as if he had said anything about her making friends.
Moreover, concerning Zimo, Brother had said that she was very skilled.
He felt reassured with her spending time with that girl.
It was just that her demeanor had seemed quite off moments ago, and he simply wanted to make sure she was indeed alright.
“Really, I’m fine,” Baili Xia had by now completely lost the uncomfortable feeling.
Smiling at him, she thought it over and decided to put her purse down and started tidying up by the dining table.
“I’m afraid if I see this mess when I come back, all greasy and gross, it would look terrible.”
“You don’t have to, I’ll clean it up,” Mu Xiaoyao pushed her aside and indeed began cleaning up himself.
Baili Xia wanted to help, but he turned and glared at her.
Baili Xia immediately stopped in her tracks, not following him.
Watching his tall figure enter the kitchen with the dishes, only then did she let out a sigh and picked up her purse again, preparing to leave.
However, just as she was about to exit the door, a series of crashing sounds came from the kitchen.
Her brow furrowed, and a dark line swiftly returned to her forehead.
She put her long fingers to her temple and massaged gently, feeling utterly drained.
When she entered the kitchen, there was the man, standing amidst a pile of broken porcelain, appearing quite helpless.
Seeing her enter, his gaze flickered and he looked guilt-ridden, like a child who had done something wrong.
Seeing him like this, even if Baili Xia wanted to complain, she couldn’t bring herself to do it.
He hadn’t done it on purpose; didn’t she see how scared and confused he already was?
Yet, Brother’s helpless expression…
was actually quite adorable.
Having known him for so long, she never knew that one day, the word “cute” could be used to describe him.
“It’s better if I do it. You go take care of your things. I’ll be out once I’ve cleaned up.”
She finally managed to push him out of the kitchen and then picked up the broom to start cleaning.
Perhaps these young masters should really be kept away from the kitchen in the future; otherwise, no amount of dishes would withstand such a commotion.
But as she looked at the dirt and disorder on the floor, thinking back on how she had vomited in the bathroom, her heart grew inexplicably more troubled.
Why did this feeling of anxiety keep spreading in her chest?
Why had she vomited, or rather, why had she been dry heaving?
