Be Gentle, My Master
Chapter 948: Don't Listen to His Ruthless Words
The nurse snatched the sheet beside her and handed it to Baili Xia in a careless manner, saying, “You’re pregnant, go see the doctor.”
The words “You’re pregnant” frightened Baili Xia so much that her legs gave way, and she nearly collapsed.
The nurse holding her test results witnessed her pallor become paper-white in an instant.
Even she began to panic, “How are you?
Is there something wrong, do you need help?”
“No, no need, I’ll be fine once I see the doctor.”
Trembling, Baili Xia took the test results from the nurse’s hand, the word “positive” at the top sent her heart plummeting to the depths.
She couldn’t recall how she had managed to walk to the doctor’s office in her feeble state, nor could she remember what the doctor had told her, or what medication had been prescribed.
By the time she had paid the bill and waited for half an hour, she had the medication in her hand.
Folic acid… So it’s true that you need to take folic acid when pregnant, along with some other supplements for the fetus.
But are these supplements really effective?
If the child is destined not to stay, what good is supplementing?
When she left the hospital, something in her mind suddenly twisted in pain, and her vision immediately blurred.
She grabbed the medication and threw it forcefully into a nearby trash can.
She was truly pregnant, pregnant with Uncle’s child!
The fear that had always lurked had become reality.
What was she going to do now?
She was only eighteen, just starting college, a child herself.
How could she bring another child into the world?
Did she have any right to be a mother?
No, she didn’t, she had neither the right nor the conditions.
No one would allow her to keep the child, they would never allow it!
Why did it happen this way?
Why did she have to get pregnant?
Her eyes were so misty she could barely see the road, not even knowing how she had left the hospital.
The test results were mindlessly stuffed into the pocket of her jacket; all along the way, she simply hung her head low, letting tears fill her eyes.
Big tears rolled around in her eyes but never fell.
Passersby who saw her in this state stopped to ask several times if she needed help.
But she just shook her head in silent refusal.
Walking along the path beside the road, not knowing where the road would lead, where was she supposed to go?
She just kept walking quietly, on and on.
Not until the sounds of traffic faded away, and the surroundings quieted down, did she stop.
In the end, she couldn’t hold back any longer.
Finding a secluded patch of grass, she squatted down, hugged her knees, and began to sob softly.
Why did fate toy with her again and again?
She knew nothing, why should she be pregnant?
She should have learned to protect herself.
But the first time she was with a man and those things happened, she remembered nothing at all.
Even now, she did not blame Uncle for not taking preventive measures when he did those things to her.
She only blamed herself for being too careless, bringing herself to such an irreparable state.
But she was truly scared, truly panicked.
What was she going to do next?
Would Uncle force her to abort the child?
Even though she knew she couldn’t keep the child, she was really scared.
If those words came from Uncle’s mouth, she might never be able to forgive him for a lifetime.
She didn’t want to hear him say she should kill her child, not ever in her lifetime!
