Be Gentle, My Master
Chapter 957: Encounter
Uncle, he didn’t know that she had his baby in her belly, he didn’t know that a continuation of life had already been left between the two.
If he were to find out, would he instantly have Ye Hua turn the car around and head to the hospital?
Without any room for discussion, would he directly have the doctor take the baby out of her belly?
Thinking about the flesh on her body being heartlessly removed, Baili Xia felt an increasingly tight and painful knot in her heart.
Mu Xiaojiu pulled another cigarette out of nowhere, lit it with a snap, rolled down the window, and began to slowly smoke, facing the outside.
Since getting in the car until now, he hadn’t said a word to her.
Just silently smoking, his whole person appeared even colder and more solemn than when he left a few days ago.
He didn’t speak, and Baili Xia didn’t dare say anything either.
Ye Hua was still driving steadily ahead, taking his time towards the Mu Mansion…
…
In the grand hall of Mu Mansion, Baili Xia was surprised not only to see her grandfather but also Ning Anran.
She had rarely gone to Sihai Residence recently, firstly because she completely lacked the time, and secondly because Ning Anran seemed to be intentionally avoiding her.
It was hard enough to make a visit, and she still couldn’t find her.
It was the same at school, where they used to sit together in class.
But recently, she always walked into the classroom just before class started and then found a corner with no people where she would sit quietly alone.
She didn’t proactively seek out Baili Xia, and she even left immediately after class without greeting her.
Baili Xia didn’t know what was really going on with her.
But she had been preoccupied with heavy thoughts recently and didn’t have the mind to care about these things.
Perhaps she had done something not quite right that upset her, and she was still holding a grudge.
But she didn’t have the heart to coax.
She had her own troubles, knotted tightly in her heart, and utterly impossible to dispel.
With Ning Anran, this friendship would continue if understood, but if truly incomprehensible, it was helpless.
After getting back Zimo and Xiaoxiao, she realized that some of the emotions she thought she had may not actually be as good as presumed.
If they were true friends, many things would be understood even if she didn’t explain them herself, and trust would be unconditional.
If there were doubts, it only meant that the feelings hadn’t reached that depth.
“Xiaxia, you’re back? How come you’re with Jiu?”
The old man noticed them and immediately brimmed with a smile.
“Your uncle just came back today and went out, I thought he was out schmoozing, I didn’t realize he went to find you.”
“It was just, just by chance.” Baili Xia was now deathly afraid of anyone finding out about her and her uncle’s relationship.
Her grandfather said it innocently, but she was sensitive, sensitive enough to subconsciously want to contradict.
Ning Anran turned back to look at them, her gaze only flashing over her before she stealthily stared at Mu Xiaojiu.
By chance?
She didn’t believe that claim.
But, it wasn’t her business to meddle, nor did she have the right to.
So, she just pursed her lips and remained silent.
Unexpectedly, Mu Xiaojiu took the initiative to explain to the old man, “This girl secretly ran off to have fun, and I went out to find her.”
“What’s wrong? Is it a bad mood? Why did Jiu have to find you?” The old man stood up and waved Baili Xia over.
“Come here, your grandfather hasn’t had a good talk with you in a long time, come, keep your grandfather company with a game of chess.”
Baili Xia squeezed her small hand, wanting to look back at Mu Xiaojiu, but in the end, she restrained herself.
She lowered her head and walked over to the old man’s side; just as she had sat down, someone came downstairs.
