Be Gentle, My Master
Chapter 981: Should I Tell Everyone
Her words made Baili Xia’s body go weak, and she almost collapsed.
“Brother…” Her thin lips trembled greatly as she looked at Mu Xiaoyao’s stern, desolate face; even her fingertips couldn’t help but shudder.
Yet, despite being so nervous, she still tried to squeeze out a bit of a smile and smiled at him.
“What… What are you talking about? You sound strange. Did you watch some movie tonight and repeat the lines?”
She didn’t want to deal with him anymore, stood up, and walked toward the center of the grass.
In fact, since the moment she stood up, a thin layer of sweat had already formed on her face.
Brother’s words disturbed her heart deeply.
Did he know something?
But how could he possibly know?
Jin would never tell anyone; he definitely wouldn’t speak, Brother wouldn’t know.
Perhaps, as she said, he saw some movie tonight and recited lines from it.
No, he surely knew nothing.
Definitely!
“You’re not well; you know you shouldn’t be exerting yourself now, so why train?” Mu Xiaoyao had unknowingly walked behind her.
Baili Xia was so frightful that she hurriedly took two steps forward, and due to her panic, she stumbled over her own feet.
She lost her balance and was about to fall forward.
She was petrified; her hand instinctively landed on her stomach while the other hand reached toward the ground to brace herself.
Even if she fell, she had to protect her stomach first.
There was a baby in her belly; she absolutely could not let him get hurt.
But before she fell, an arm yanked her back.
When she steadied herself standing in front of Mu Xiaoyao, lifting her head to meet his dark gaze, her heart chilled by half.
“I was bored tonight and pulled up the road surveillance from that day.
I know you had turned off your phone and where you actually went.”
“No, what are you talking about?
I didn’t go anywhere.
I, I went on a date with Jin.”
She pushed him hard, trying to push him away.
But he firmly gripped her arms, not letting her retreat even slightly.
He was afraid she was so panic-stricken that she couldn’t even walk straight and might cause some accident.
“Brother, what are you even doing? Let me go. I need to practice my boxing,” Baili Xia urged anxiously.
“I told you, no training tonight; didn’t you understand?” Mu Xiaoyao’s eyebrows slightly furrowed, a trace of displeasure crossing his eyes.
This woman, why doesn’t she listen!
“Brother…”
“Do you want me to go back and repeat what I know to everyone?”
“Brother, please don’t!” Baili Xia turned even paler in fright and grabbed his shirt, pulling hard.
She wanted to speak, but she didn’t know what to say, and suddenly, her nose felt sore.
“I didn’t mean to pry into your secrets.
It’s just that after Uncle came back that day asking for manpower, I found out your phone was off, and your two friends weren’t with you.”
“I had already accessed those surveillance videos for a while.
Back then, when I saw you were with Dongfang Jin, I didn’t look closely.”
Knowing she was safe was all that mattered; other matters weren’t as concerning.
But Baili Xia felt wronged, “Since you didn’t look closely back then, why look now?
Why do you want to see?”
“Because I don’t believe that to meet Dongfang Jin, you’d turn off your phone,” Mu Xiaoyao said flatly.
Actually, tonight was indeed a coincidence.
He had been busy these past days, every day overwhelmingly so.
How could he find time to scrutinize these things?
Tonight was truly unexpected.
