Beast Evolution System: Devourer of Heaven
Chapter 471: Calamitous Battle
Chapter 471: Chapter 471: Calamitous Battle
The beast in question has four dragon like legs, its entire body was covered by red scales.
It had a bulk like head with four red horns that burnt with flames as red as blood and had a mane around its neck like a scarf.
However the mane was not fur like would expect but countless dancing tentacles whose presence seemed to burn the air itself.
Separated by an entire dimension Ved couldn’t fully feel its power but even the tiny residue he felt was overwhelming.
Fortunately he was standing next to Flamel who cancelled it out and removed the pressure off him.
Anglomesh raised his golden head and roared, the beast roared in response and both lunged at each other.
Two creatures standing hundreds of kilometres long at their full size lunged at each other.
BOOOOOM, their clash shook heaven itself, the earth beneath ruptured and cracks as wide as stars appeared.
Space was ruptured and light itself disappeared around them. Ved’s eyes opened wide.
" Good thing they’re separated into a spatial dimension or they might’ve destroyed a large portion of this universe." Said Ved.
Ursela agreed, " Yeah, we would’ve died just from the shockwaves alone." She said. They continued watching the battle.
Although both opponents were massive, they still moved so fast that Ved and the others could barely see them.
All they saw were a golden streak and a red streak clashing in the sky countless times in a blink of an eye.
" It seems this creature also relies on physical might like dragons." Said Ved. " I wonder what it is though."
" That’s a Madgol, they were a savage race, went instinct a few billion years ago, killed each other off." Replied Flamel.
" Killed each other? Why?" Linglong asked.
" The Madgol were a physical race like dragons but they also controlled the flames of karma.
Flames once believed to rival the flames of rebirth of our race, because of that they stood as one of the divine races like ours.
However while they had intelligence like all spiritual lifeforms, they easily gave in to their instincts.
And to make things worse, they could grow stronger by consuming the karmic flames of other Madgol.
So they fought constantly, parents would raise their kids only for those kids to turn on them later in life.
So, most chose to no longer give birth, even mating was a risk since your partner could kill and consume you during the act.
The ancient king of beasts rose to power around that time, he quelled the chaos in theye race, for a while at least.
They feared him, after all he alone was strong enough to wipe out their entire race without issue.
That was until the war came, they used that chaos to start hunting each other again and as you know.
Battles between Sovereigns are too destructive let alone Gods. Their race fought both in the mortal realm and in the god realm.
Normally in a fight of that level, we would go into the mirror dimension as to not effect the real world.
They did not, their fighs destroyed a lot of universes in the mortal realm and caused much chaos in the god realm as well.
It is stated that divine islands fell into the void after each battle, this angered all other races.
The ancient beast king still tried to protect them to make them see what they’ve done wrong.
But, he wasn’t the only supreme leader at that time, the winter empress took action wiping out their entire race.
It’s believed the two didn’t talk for over 400 years after that but the beast king forgave her eventually.
After all, they loved each other dearly and needed each other to survive the war against the abyss." Flamel explained.
This was the first time Ved ever heard her speak so much. " So, you’re saying that creature has a chance of defeating Anglomesh?" He asked.
" None." She responded confusing him, if they could match dragons then why would it have no chance.
" It might be on the same level as him and sane grade but that isn’t the only thing that makes you strong.
If I remember correctly you have somebody like that as well, that little girl you call White, she could fight evenly with even mythical grade opponents of the same level.
Mastery of ones power and the strength of one’s will matters. While a high grade means one would have a high volume of will.
A strong belief can make the density of will overwhelming, whatever that girl believes in, her faith in it is unshakable." Flamel answered.
" As for Anglomesh, he has mastered his power more than any dragon before him, perhaps with the exception of one, just watch."
Just as she said that, Anglomesh retreated from the Madgol. His body was now covered in red flames.
Karmic flames were a dangerous power, the more connections you have to others the more they burn you.
Anglomesh was a leader of an entire universe and an ancestor of the remaining dragon race.
A teacher to Ved and Linglong and has connections with multiple Sovereigns across multiple universes.
The flames burnt so high around him they turned the world blood red but he did not even flinch.
" Dragon Magic: By the might of my word I command thee to perish." Anglomesh ordered in his dragon tongue.
Ved felt a surge of mana so strong it effected him even through the barrier separating their dimensions.
The sovereigns holding the barrier shook and spit blood. The Madgol froze then a large chunk of its body disappeared.
However it was still alive, Ved was confused, he knew dragon magic had less direct effects on those of equal strength.
Anglomesh shouldn’t have been able to simply command a being on his level of strength to perish.
While the spell didn’t work fully, it was still about 70 percent effective which was beyond impressive.
He looked around for somebody to explore and saw an excited Linglong, she’s spent more time with other dragons than he did.
" Do you understand what happened? Dragon magic shouldn’t be that powerful right?" He asked.
" Yes but master had been preparing that spell since the fight began." She answered.
" Preparing? How?" He asked.
" Each clash he was infusing his mana into the Madgol, since it can’t use mana itself, it couldn’t detect it." She answered.
" Oh I get it but still, depending on whether your opponent detects your mana isn’t quite reliable." Said Ved.
" Not quite." Said Flamel. " Even if you detect the mana inside you, if you can’t control mana yourself.
Getting rid of it is hard, harder than removing lingering laws on a wound, if you’re too late to detect it, the best you can do is escape far enough that the range of his word does not reach you." She told him.
Ved’s eyes sparkled, because he just found another way to use dragon magic.
