Beast Taming: I'm Really Just a Forest Ranger
Chapter 738 This Is Advisor Chen from Qin Province_2
“Roar~”
Chen Yuan hadn’t responded yet, but Cola beside him pricked up its furry triangular ears, suddenly stretched out its paw, and fiercely struck the ground, pretending to be fierce and barking twice.
Why bother with all this trouble?
Just give me a spot, and I, Cola, will wipe them all out directly!
Yao Lu’s face showed a look of astonishment. She had been too tired from the double threats of the storm and the shark swarm to maintain vigilance of her surroundings, and only now noticed this Beastmaster’s presence.
The big dog beside him was majestic and not ordinary. Its casual barking made the Furious Turtle uneasy.
This big dog?
Sensing the doubt in Yao Lu’s eyes, the perceptive Zhang Bai cleared his throat and stepped forward proactively.
“Advisor Yao, this is Advisor Chen from the Qin Province Beastmaster Association.” His face immediately broke into a smile so bright it dispelled the dreariness, bringing long-lost light.
As soon as he said this, before Yao Lu could react, the rest of the association members erupted in astonishment, and lively discussions began.
“Advisor Chen? The one hailed as the number one Beastmaster in Qin Province?”
“Not just the number-one Beastmaster, but also a genius researcher.”
“Wow, no wonder this big dog looks extraordinary. That gaze, that demeanor, that aura, it’s truly a king among dogs.”
Cola, glancing admiringly at the unknown Beastmaster who praised it, decided to reward him with a sip of Cola later.
As a consultant to the Binhai City Beastmaster Association, Yao Lu was naturally not unfamiliar with Chen Yuan.
In fact, association consultants across the regions have all heard of Chen Yuan’s illustrious name.
But amid the combined threat of storm and rain, it clearly wasn’t the right time to boast about Chen Yuan. Yao Lu watched as the black-haired youth approached slowly, hesitatingly asking: “Advisor Chen, you…”
Chen Yuan smiled slightly: “I’m here to help you sort out these matters.”
After pausing, he said calmly, “But I will soon explore this island further, which might take some time. If the sharks attack, you can create a diversion to notify me, and my Pet Beast will come to assist you.”
“Woof woof!”
Once these words were spoken, Cola immediately barked repeatedly.
Scared by mere small sharks, watch what Cola can do!
Hearing this, everyone was speechless.
What they considered incredibly tricky and life-threatening shark swarms seemed utterly non-threatening in Advisor Chen’s words.
His nonchalant tone suggested that with his intervention, he could resolve them all.
Recalling reports about Advisor Chen, someone murmured softly, “It seems true.”
Indeed, while everyone might be high-level Beastmasters or association consultants, there were distinctions among peers despite identical status.
Amidst myriad thoughts, Chen Yuan’s words were like a calming agent, soothing their anxiety and fear.
Having this Advisor Chen present meant they were very safe!
Suddenly, someone noticed Chen Yuan frowning and nervously asked, “Advisor Chen, is something wrong?”
Chen Yuan met their concerned gazes, and his eyebrows gradually relaxed, a smile spreading across his face: “It’s nothing, I just suddenly felt this plan wasn’t great.”
Yao Lu, hearing this, offered a smile as gentle as sunlight shining on the sea: “It’s okay, Advisor Chen, leave this to me, your own matters are more important.”
“Should an emergency arise, we’ll find a way to notify you.”
Chen Yuan smiled slightly: “I’m not worried about that; I just felt this way of dealing with things is inefficient, and it keeps us anxious.”
He needed to focus on exploring the island to find the Eternal Silence Sand Flower and didn’t want other matters to intervene.
If that’s the case, they’d be better off dealing with the sharks directly rather than waiting for them to attack.
Favoring proactive solutions over waiting passively, Chen Yuan thought.
Moreover, the storm wasn’t over yet. Even if they smoothly found the Eternal Silence Sand Flower, the Twin Flower Concubine wouldn’t advance anytime soon.
Thus, why not tackle the shark swarm first?
Upon hearing this, they fell into a deathly silence, some staring blankly at the turbulent sea and the clouded sky with bewildered eyes.
Did Advisor Chen mean he’s going into the seas in such harsh conditions, to face a pack of ferocious Furious Sea Sharks alone?
Is that what he’s saying?
Li Zhen pursed his lips hesitantly;
Nan’s gaze shifted, remaining silent;
Tian focused on watching the weather, seemingly studying when the storm would end;
Zhang Bai showed no worry, casually fiddling with his long hair while pondering how to praise Advisor Chen’s courage and strength later;
Only Yao Lu stared directly at Chen Yuan, slightly moved her lips: “I’ll go with you.”
“Then let’s go.” Chen Yuan, after shooting Yao Lu a thoughtful look, nodded slowly.
The next moment.
Spark spread its wings and flew up, its golden-red silhouette tearing through the rain curtain.
The flowing fiery glow immediately dispelled a section of gloom. Chen Yuan stepped onto Spark’s back, as it let out a long cry, fiercely flapping its wings, soaring into the leaden gray skies shrouded in heavy rain clouds.
“Woof woof!”
Cola barked twice, stepping onto an invisible staircase of airflow, striding through the air and causing a stir of exclamations.
Cola felt secretly proud, then performed several turns in the high sky to show off, inciting enthusiastic cheers again.
“Cola, hurry up and follow.”
Only when Chen Yuan’s voice echoed in its mind did Cola reluctantly leave, pursuing the leader.
Meanwhile, Yao Lu summoned a second Pet Beast, Furious Wave Crocodile, and nimbly leapt onto its back.
The Furious Wave Crocodile roared lowly, its massive figure breaking through the waves, charging forward fiercely!
“You help out too.”
Watching them depart, Nan commanded loudly.
Hovering high in the sky, the Ocean Patrol Screeching Gull, like a deep blue arrow, followed closely behind, its sharp crystalline eyes glinting, scanning the turbulent ocean under the rain for the lurking shadows like a heavenly probe.
Though not a match for the strength of other Pet Beasts, it excelled at locating the Furious Sea Sharks.
Cold rain like arrows, and the wind raging.
The damp sea air flooded her nostrils as Yao Lu, riding the Furious Wave Crocodile, struggled to follow Spark’s silhouette amid the furious waves, finally catching up with Chen Yuan in a relatively calmer marine area.
At this moment, it seemed she could almost reach out and touch the gorgeous seven-colored trail Spark’s tail left behind.
“Actually, you don’t need to come.”
Seated on Spark’s broad back, Chen Yuan lowered his eyes, gazing at Yao Lu on the Furious Wave Crocodile.
“This expulsion event was initiated by the Association. When unforeseen events occur, as a consultant, I must find ways to solve them.”
“For you, these Furious Sea Sharks might not be significant, but I want them driven away through my efforts.” Yao Lu raised her rain-soaked face, her long hair wetly clinging to her smooth neck, but her voice echoed like waves beneath the sea.
Helplessly, Chen Yuan laughed: “Okay.”
After a brief conversation, the pair fell silent.
Chen Yuan pondered why he constantly encountered incidents that ordinary Beastmasters rarely faced, wondering if he was naturally attuned to such situations.
Yao Lu covertly observed the legendary Advisor Chen, curiosity swelling within her.
Could he really defeat these Furious Sea Sharks solo?
Yet, the curiosity was gradually extinguished by the storm and rain; Yao Lu gathered her thoughts, sharing intelligence with Chen Yuan: “Advisor Chen, the leader of the Furious Sea Sharks likely has strength close to four-star level, with four three-star Furious Sea Sharks nearby, and the rest are one-star and two-star strength.”
Chen Yuan nodded knowingly.
Since becoming a Beastmaster, he had encountered countless groups of Pet Beasts, among which these deep-sea dwelling Furious Sea Sharks were the strongest.
But it wasn’t enough.
Wild Pet Beasts notably differ in combat power from those carefully nurtured by Beastmasters. Only under special circumstances, with ample opportunities, could wild ones compete with trained Pet Beasts.
This shark swarm stood no chance against Cola and Spark.
Unless… unless another unexpected event occurs.
“But how could that be?” Chen Yuan grinned, “We’ve already had enough unpredictable situations.”
