Chapter 724 This Tushan Jing Ci, Isn't He Here to Crash the Wedding?

  • Next Chapter

“From the Tushan Clan—Tushan Jing Ci, here to present her congratulations!”

The voice of the male disciple from the Seeking Immortal Temple was loud and clear, echoing throughout the entire temple.

The moment they heard the name “Tushan Jing Ci,” everyone’s heart leaped in shock.

For the past several decades, who didn’t know that the love of Tushan Jing Ci’s life was one of her scholar’s attendants, and that this scholar’s attendant was named Xiao Mo?

Who didn’t know that this Xiao Mo was the reincarnation of the love of Tushan Jing Ci’s life?

It was just that in this lifetime, Xiao Mo had initially joined the Buddhist Sect.

They had heard that Tushan Jing Ci had disguised herself as a common village girl to try and get close to Xiao Mo, wanting to bring him back to Tushan.

But for some unknown reason, Xiao Mo ended up falling in love with Gui Junmeng. Not only did he not return with Tushan Jing Ci, but he even abandoned Buddhism for Daoism and came to the Seeking Immortal Temple…

And now, Tushan Jing Ci had come to the Seeking Immortal Temple in person…

‘This Tushan Jing Ci… she can’t be here to steal the groom, can she?’

For a moment, that thought crossed many minds.

Additionally, many Human Alliance Cultivators subconsciously rubbed their fingers, their eyes narrowing slightly as an undisguised killing intent quietly surfaced in their depths.

After all, the Human Alliance and the Demon Alliance were currently locked in a life-or-death struggle. The Human Alliance was increasingly on the defensive, facing setbacks at every turn.

If they could take this opportunity to slay Tushan Jing Ci right here…

It would be an undeniable boon for the Human Alliance!

However, the moment they turned and saw the faces of Gui Ning and Tushan Xinhua, calm as still water, the murderous impulse stirring within them was suppressed. They dared not act rashly.

As the male disciple’s voice slowly faded, a woman stepped into the Seeking Immortal Temple.

She wore a fiery red gown, so intense it seemed to burn. The gown was densely embroidered with golden thread depicting twin lotuses on a single stalk and paired birds that fly wing to wing. The pattern wound its way from her shoulders, twisting and turning in an unbroken line all the way down to the floor-length hem of her skirt.

The long train of her wedding dress dragged along the blue-green stone floor, yet it did not pick up a single speck of dust.

At her waist, a brocade sash was tightly bound around her slender, willow-like waist, accentuating a full and rounded curve above it. It rose and fell with her subtle breaths, like a budding flower hidden beneath the silk.

The woman’s jet-black hair was not fully pinned up; it cascaded like a waterfall to her waist. The strands were exceedingly long and dense, glowing with the deep, warm luster of black ebony.

A filigreed Phoenix crown of red-gold sat perfectly upon her hair. In the very center of the crown, a Phoenix was depicted so vividly it seemed alive. From its beak hung a string of fine golden tassels, which dangled before her smooth forehead and swayed gently with her steps.

On her forehead, she wore a plum blossom-shaped gold foil *huadian*, making her skin there look as smooth as cream and as delicate as snow.

The corners of her eyes tilted up slightly, like a rising crescent moon. Her pupils were deep and jet-black, and as her gaze shifted, it seemed to hold a thousand unspoken words, full of things she wished to say but held back.

Her perfect features were without the slightest flaw. Set against the fiery red wedding dress and exquisite red makeup, her beauty was so stunning it was startling, making it impossible to look away.

“Is… is that Senior Sister Gui…?”

Someone couldn’t help but gasp in a low voice.

“No, that’s not right—isn’t Senior Sister Gui right over there…?” another disciple quickly pointed to the woman in a wedding dress to the side of the main hall, her bridal veil not yet lifted, his tone filled with utter bewilderment.

Inside the Seeking Immortal Temple, those young disciples who had never been to a battlefield almost wondered if their eyes were deceiving them the moment they saw the woman in the wedding dress.

This woman couldn’t just be described as looking similar to Senior Sister Gui.

She was simply identical to Senior Sister Gui, as if carved from the very same mold!

In the seat of honor, Tushan Xinhua watched her other daughter, her thin lips pressing into a tight line as she sighed heavily in her heart.

‘The thing she feared most had happened after all…’

In truth, Tushan Xinhua had already anticipated this very scene.

After all, how could news of Xiao Mo’s wedding not reach Jing Ci’s ears?

And how could she possibly not come?

But Tushan Jing Ci acted as if she hadn’t seen her own mother and grandfather at all. Her hands folded before her, she walked forward with calm, composed steps, her gaze fixed straight ahead.

Yue Shi, Tushan Hanhan, Tushan Doudou, and Tushan Yiyi followed closely behind Tushan Jing Ci. Each of them held an exquisite red-lacquered wooden tray covered with a red cloth.

Several decades had passed in a flash. The little girls who once peeked around with curious eyes had now blossomed into graceful young women, becoming Tushan Jing Ci’s most trusted aides.

They too had heard all about their Holy Daughter’s tangled history with that “Xiao Mo.”

They had lost count of the times they had cursed Xiao Mo behind his back for being blind—for spurning someone as wonderful as their Holy Daughter and breaking her heart instead.

They gnashed their teeth in hatred, wishing they could tear that man limb from limb to vent their fury.

But now that they had actually arrived at the wedding feast, they couldn’t help but feel a little apprehensive.

Even though their Holy Daughter had never said it outright, they could guess that she was most likely here to crash the wedding.

On the way here, they had run through countless scenarios in their minds, thinking about how they could help their Holy Daughter win that man back.

But now that the moment was at hand, their small hands couldn’t help but tremble.

At this moment, the main hall of the Seeking Immortal Temple was silent; you could even call it deathly quiet.

Many people’s breathing slowed involuntarily as they stared nervously at the figure in red.

Finally, Tushan Jing Ci stopped about ten paces away from the day’s newlyweds.

In the main hall of the Daoist temple, two exquisitely beautiful women now stood.

Both of them were wearing wedding dresses.

Tushan Jing Ci’s gaze first paused for a moment on the groom, who wore a large red flower on his chest, then fell upon the bride beside him, her face hidden by a red veil.

Finally, her eyes slowly moved to the red silk ribbon held tightly between their hands, and there her gaze lingered.

“Today is your joyous day, Young Master Xiao. I have arrived a little late. Please forgive me.”

After a long moment, the woman’s thin, delicate red lips parted slightly. Her voice, crisp as pearls falling on a Jade Plate, carried a frosty indifference as it echoed leisurely through the spacious temple hall.

“You are too kind, My Lady.” Xiao Mo said, bowing with his hands clasped. “Lady Tushan has traveled a long way and must be tired. Please, take a seat and rest.”

“I have not yet presented my gift. How could I possibly sit down?”

Tushan Jing Ci shook her head gently and slowly raised her arm.

The wide red sleeve slipped silently down her smooth, lotus-root-like arm, revealing a section of wrist skin as fair as jade.

She waved her slender hand lightly, and Yue Shi stepped forward steadily, holding the congratulatory gift.

“These gifts are but a small token of my regard. I hope Young Master will not find them lacking!”
