Beauties in Simulation Cross over into Reality
Chapter 725: Our Hearts Are Finally Connected
Yue Shi walked forward steadily, holding the wedding gift.
Senior Sister Lin of the Seeking Immortal Temple, who was presiding over the ceremony, showed a flicker of hesitation.
The visitors had clearly come with ill intent, and she was momentarily unsure of what to do. She didn’t know whether she should accept the gift on behalf of Xiao Mo and Gui Junmeng.
However, in the end, Senior Sister Lin saw the Temple Master give a slight nod. She slowly walked forward and reached out to lift the red cloth covering the gift.
The moment the red cloth was lifted, everyone present furrowed their brows in unison.
Senior Sister Lin’s face grew even paler.
Beneath the red cloth were three human heads, arranged neatly on a platter.
“They are the Sect Leaders of the Zhenjiu Sect, the Yellow Sand Sect, and the Huoquan Sect.”
Tushan Jing Ci spoke slowly, her voice calm as she introduced their identities.
“After you abandoned Buddhism for Daoism, Young Master, I left Yuncai Village as well.”
“However, the borderlands between the Demon Race’s World and the Western Regions are truly remote, with almost no news. After I left, I stopped paying attention to Sikong Temple.”
“However, three years ago, I happened to learn something. Not long after I had left, those three Major Sects—the Zhenjiu Sect, the Yellow Sand Sect, and the Huoquan Sect—attempted to refine a Magical Artifact. They used the innocent people within a hundred-li radius of Sikong Temple as sacrifices, turning the entire area into a scorched wasteland.”
“I sought out those three Sect Leaders, and they confessed to their crimes without reservation.”
“Since they did wrong, they had to pay the price for their actions. So, I took their heads. Now, I take this opportunity to present this wedding gift to Young Master Xiao. Please do not find it distasteful.”
As Tushan Jing Ci’s voice fell, Xiao Mo’s brow furrowed slightly, his gaze falling upon the three heads.
‘Xiao Mo knew full well that these three Demon Race Cultivators were nothing more than scapegoats for Tushan Meng.’
‘As for the true mastermind behind the Sikong Temple massacre, Jing Ci certainly wouldn’t know.’
‘After all, Jing Ci was sentimental about the past. She had lived in Yuncai Village for quite some time, and the villagers had treated her well.’
‘Tushan Meng knew that if Jing Ci discovered she was behind it all, Jing Ci would undoubtedly grow to resent her.’
‘Therefore, Tushan Meng had made thorough preparations to completely extricate herself from the Sikong Temple incident.’
‘No matter how Jing Ci investigated, the trail would only lead to those three Demon Race Cultivators.’
“Thank you for your kind intentions. I will accept this wedding gift,” Xiao Mo said, his expression unchanging.
“There’s more,” Tushan Jing Ci said, waving her hand lightly.
The next moment, Tushan Hanhan walked gracefully forward, holding another wedding gift.
The red cloth was once again slowly lifted. Inside lay a neatly folded piece of white paper and a simple, red wooden box.
Senior Sister Lin hesitated for a moment but still reached out and picked up the white paper.
On the paper was a poem, written in elegant and neat calligraphy.
She took a deep breath and slowly read aloud:
“Having known the pain of partings across the world, I returned to find the flowers had fallen. Beneath the blossoms, we meet without a word; by the green window, spring and the sky both fade into twilight.”
“I would speak of my longing beneath the lamp, but a wisp of new joy is tangled in a thousand strands of old sorrow. What this world can never hold onto is a youthful face in the mirror, or a blossom on the branch.”
Senior Sister Lin finished reciting the poem word by word. Though her tone was level, she could not hide the desolate sorrow within the verses.
Within the Seeking Immortal Temple, any Cultivators with literary knowledge were inwardly startled, sighing in admiration. ‘Truly brilliant writing…’
While everyone was still immersed in the lingering sentiment of the poem, Senior Sister Lin reached out and gently opened the wooden box.
The instant the lid was lifted, a vast and scorching demonic aura erupted like a volcano, pressing down on the many Cultivators with lower Cultivation levels until they could barely breathe.
“This is…”
The Human Race Cultivators involuntarily rose to their feet, craning their necks to look into the wooden box.
Inside the box lay a Demon Pill, as black as ink.
The Demon Pill was of an extremely high grade, its aura immense. It was at least at the Ascension Realm Perfection level, perhaps even just a single step away from the legendary Lost Second Realm!
“A Yuzhu Demon Pill!”
Someone soon recognized it, their eyes burning with sudden fervor!
“That poem was given to me long ago by a man. It was his final letter. This Demon Pill was his last possession.”
Tushan Jing Ci watched Xiao Mo quietly. Her voice was not loud, yet it carried clearly to the ears of everyone present.
“During the Demon Race’s civil war, he wanted others to approve of our marriage. So he went to the battlefield alone to slay our enemies, hoping to earn great merits. He wanted to return in glory to marry me.”
“And the greatest regret of my life was agreeing to it…”
As she spoke, a flicker of loneliness and deep self-blame passed through Tushan Jing Ci’s eyes.
“In the end, he never came back… All I received were these two items. Today, I present them both to you, Young Master Xiao.”
Xiao Mo stared at the two “wedding gifts,” remaining silent.
“There’s more,” Tushan Jing Ci said, not waiting for Xiao Mo to speak.
Tushan Doudou stepped forward at her cue.
For the third time, Senior Sister Lin lifted the red cloth covering a gift—
It was a bracelet.
It was a bracelet meticulously carved from wood. Its entire surface glowed with a faint, gentle luster, looking as if it had just been made, without the slightest trace of drying or cracking.
The wooden bracelet was so perfectly preserved entirely because it had been coated with a layer of “Snow-Coagulating Liquid.”
“Snow-Coagulating Liquid” was extremely precious, typically used only for the maintenance and repair of Half-Immortal Soldiers.
