Chapter 75: Chapter 75: My Husband Wants It Extra Sweet

The sharp buzz of Elisha’s phone on the nightstand broke the quiet of the bedroom. Elisha blinked, finally noticing the call, and reached over to grab it. His mother’s name flashed across the screen.

Elisha groaned softly, rubbing the back of his neck. "She’s definitely going to shout at me."

Henry smirked and gave his shoulder a playful nudge. "Pick it up."

Elisha sighed, swiping to answer before holding the phone to his ear. "Hello, Mom."

His mother’s voice immediately came through, sharp and exasperated. "Elisha! Where have you put your phone? I’ve been calling you for ages!"

Elisha quietly apologized, while Henry covered his mouth, trying not to laugh.

"I’ve been dealing with all kinds of things down here, trying to sort everything out for your wedding," his mother continued, clearly annoyed. "And you’ve just been ignoring my calls!"

"I’m sorry, Mom. I wasn’t ignoring you," Elisha lied smoothly, keeping his voice steady. "I was tied up in an urgent meeting with a client."

His mother scoffed. "Didn’t you tell me you’d already taken a break from work until after your wedding?"

"Mom, this meeting was critical. It couldn’t wait."

"And it took you forever? I’ve been calling for more than an hour!"

"I’m sorry. The discussion just happened to drag on much longer than I expected."

Hearing the ridiculous excuse, Henry pressed both hands over his mouth, his shoulders shaking as he desperately tried not to make a sound.

Seeing how amused Henry was, Elisha’s eyes darkened with a sudden, playful spark. Without breaking eye contact, he deliberately shifted his hips and gave a slow, heavy jerk upward, still buried deep inside him.

"Hnnk—!"

The sudden movement forced a sharp, stifled sound from Henry’s throat. His fingers tightened on Elisha’s shoulders as the thick length dragged against every sensitive spot inside him.

Elisha didn’t miss a beat. Keeping his voice completely steady, he continued speaking into the phone. "No, Mom... look, after I finally wrapped things up with the client, Henry and I sat down together to pray for the wedding day to go smoothly. In fact, I was still right in the middle of a prayer and had to cut it short just to answer your call."

His excuse immediately softened his mother’s mood. The scolding tone in her voice disappeared, replaced by a pleased hum.

"Oh... well, that’s good," she said, her voice softening. "I’m happy to hear you two are praying together. It’s very important, Elisha. Always keep praying. It brings God’s blessings and a better future, okay?"

"Yes, Mom," Elisha replied, his lips twitching as he glanced at Henry, who was glaring at him with a flushed, breathless expression. "I’m going to pray every morning and night."

"Alright, son. Now, I should get straight to why I called you in the first place..."

"Alright, son. Now, let me get to the reason I called you in the first place," his mother continued, her tone turning brisk and businesslike again. "Have you and Henry sorted out the rings, your wedding clothes, and everything else on your checklist?"

Before Elisha could answer, Henry shifted, trying to quietly stand up so Elisha could finally slide out of him.

With a low, possessive hum, Elisha slammed his hand down on Henry’s waist, pinning him firmly in place against his lap. "Stay, baby," he whispered against Henry’s skin, making sure Henry couldn’t go anywhere.

Henry let out a breathy sigh, finally giving up. He wrapped his arms around Elisha’s neck, pressing his face into Elisha’s shoulder and holding on tightly while Elisha continued talking to his mother.

"We’ve taken care of the rings and clothes, Mom," Elisha replied smoothly, his voice remaining steady despite the position Henry was in.

"Good," his mother said approvingly. "As for everything else, don’t stress yourselves. The family is handling the decorations, catering, and all the other arrangements. All you two need to do is send out the invitations, get fitted for your wedding attire, and show up looking handsome on your wedding day."

She paused briefly before asking, "Now, what color theme do you want for the venue decorations?"

Elisha glanced down at Henry and raised an eyebrow. "Pretty, Mom wants to know what color scheme we want for the decorations."

Henry murmured, "Anything that isn’t too flashy... maybe classy emerald green or deep charcoal gray. Something sophisticated."

Elisha relayed his answer. "We’re thinking deep emerald with gold accents, Mom. Something elegant and classic."

"Oh, excellent choice. Very tasteful," his mother praised. "By the way, put me on speaker for a second. I want to greet my son-in-law. I know he’s right there with you."

Elisha switched the call to speaker and placed the phone between them. "Mom wants to say hi."

Henry blinked, clearing his throat to get rid of any lingering breathlessness before speaking up clearly. "Good evening, Mom. Hope you’re resting well."

"Good evening, my dear," his mother replied warmly, her tone softening considerably. "Don’t let this boy stress you out too much with his work. Make sure he takes a break every now and then."

"I will, Mom," Henry smiled softly, stealing a glance at Elisha.

After a few more minutes of wedding coordination and warm remarks, Elisha finally wrapped up the call and tossed the phone back onto the nightstand.

He looked down at Henry with a lazy, satisfied smile. "We should go shower."

Henry nodded against his chest, a soft smile playing on his lips. "Okay."

With a slow, careful shift, Elisha finally slid out of him. Henry let out a soft breath as the sudden emptiness settled over him. For a moment they stayed close, foreheads nearly touching, before Elisha pressed a gentle kiss to his shoulder.

"Come on," he murmured.

They climbed out of bed together. Henry’s legs felt a little unsteady, so Elisha kept a steadying hand on his lower back as they walked into the spacious bathroom.

The shower was warm and steady, washing away the sweat and heat of the afternoon. They cleaned up side by side in quiet, comfortable intimacy, hands moving gently over each other’s skin. Once they finished, they dried off with soft plush towels, wrapped fresh ones securely around their waists, and stepped back out into the cool air of the bedroom.

Henry walked over and sat at the edge of the bed, plugging in a small hair dryer to dry his damp locks.

Before he could turn it on, Elisha walked closer, stepping right between Henry’s knees. He gently took the dryer from Henry’s hand and took over, moving it carefully through Henry’s hair as the warm air hummed around them.

When Henry’s hair was nearly dry, Elisha gently tilted his chin up and placed a few tender, lingering kisses on his lips before switching the dryer off and setting it aside.

Henry immediately wrapped his arms around Elisha’s waist, burying his face against Elisha’s chest.

Elisha stroked his back, a fond smile touching his lips. "What do you want, pretty?"

"I want snacks," Henry mumbled against his shirt.

Elisha chuckled softly. "Alright."

He reached back and grabbed his phone from the mattress, then called one of their favorite high-end cafés to place the order. Once the call connected, he looked down at Henry. "What do you want to eat?"

Henry listed a few of his favorites: warm chocolate chip cookies, fresh strawberries with sweet cream, and a plate of crispy garlic wings.

As Elisha gave the order to the café, he added with a teasing grin, "And make sure the strawberries are extra sweet. My husband wants them extra sweet."

The moment the word slipped so naturally from Elisha’s lips, Henry froze for a second. Then a bright smile spread across his face. A deep blush rushed up his cheeks and reached the tips of his ears, giving him a shy, lovestruck look Elisha rarely ever saw.

Overcome with embarrassment and happiness, Henry scrambled backward onto the bed, quickly diving headfirst under the duvet and pulling it over his head like a shield.

Elisha laughed, ending the call and tossing his phone aside. He climbed onto the bed, crawling over to Henry and gently tugging at the edge of the blanket. "Come out, you pretty cat. Why are you blushing this much over a little word?"

From beneath the covers, a muffled voice replied, "l’m not blushing ..."

Elisha smiled as he managed to pull the blanket back just enough to reveal Henry’s flushed, smiling face. "You love me calling you my husband, don’t you?"

Henry’s usual fierce, composed exterior completely melted away, replaced by the expression of a completely smitten lover. He nodded softly, his eyes shining. "Yes... heartbeat."

Elisha’s gaze softened. "Then I can’t wait to make it official with you."

"Me too," Henry whispered, his heart swelling with happiness.

Elisha reached out and brushed a stray lock of hair from Henry’s forehead. "Alright, come on out. Let’s get some clothes on so you don’t catch a cold."

Henry shook his head, pulling the covers defensively back over his shoulders with a playful pout. "No, bring them to me. I’ll change right here."

Elisha chuckled and leaned down to press one last warm kiss to Henry’s forehead. "Alright, pretty."

He climbed out of bed and headed toward the spacious walk-in closet. The moment Elisha was safely out of sight, Henry kicked his legs excitedly beneath the sheets, a giddy, lovesick grin spreading across his face as he squirmed like a teenager completely head over heels.

Elisha called out from the closet, "I heard that, pretty. But I love seeing you this happy."

Henry smiled to himself, quietly repeating the words, "My husband."

A bigger smile spread across his face as he rolled from side to side on the bed...
