June stared at him. "Are you sure about that...?"

Nyx hesitated, blinking as he stared back at him. He didn’t want to be a party pooper or the reason June couldn’t enjoy his ride.

So, he smiled and said, "Don’t worry. I’m most certainly sure..." He glanced up at the roller coaster before him. "It’s just a ride. It’s not like there’s much to it."

June smiled and nodded. "That’s good, then!" He turned toward the ride. "Let’s go!"

It was finally their turn, and the two of them climbed onto the ride. Nyx and June sat beside each other, waiting for it to take off.

In the meantime, Nyx had his eyes shut as he leaned back, silently muttering prayers to himself.

"Are you okay?" June asked, staring at him. "What are you doing?"

Nyx smiled and opened his eyes. "Nothing. I’m just..."

Before he could finish speaking, the ride started, and he immediately grabbed the safety bar firmly.

"I’m just... happy..."

June slowly nodded. "Oh..."

And so, the ride kicked off.

For June, it was an exhilarating experience. He stretched out his hands in excitement, smiling and screaming at the top of his lungs as he enjoyed the ride. He had forgotten how cathartic it felt, how the thrill helped him release all the frustration he’d accumulated from working back then. It had always been such a wonderful stress reliever.

"How is it? Thrilling, right?" June grinned, managing to turn toward Nyx, who was sitting beside him.

However, he was rather shocked by what he saw.

Nyx sat with both eyes tightly shut, his head lowered as he clung to the safety bar for dear life. He was muttering something under his breath, looking as though he was preparing for his final moments.

June couldn’t help smiling.

"Don’t tell me you’re scared...?" he asked.

Nyx remained in the same position and shook his head. "No, I’m not! I just... just believe in taking safety precautions..."

June burst out laughing as he continued enjoying the thrilling ride. "I can’t believe you! I told you to let me know if you were scared!"

Nyx slowly opened his eyes and glanced around. The moment he realized how high they were, fear shot through his veins. He quickly squeezed his eyes shut again, his hair flying across his face as he struggled to speak.

"I didn’t want to ruin the date... I’d be such a bore then. I wanted you to enjoy the whole ride..." he managed to say.

June stared at him with an adoring smile and shook his head. "And what am I supposed to do with you now...?"

He sighed before turning his gaze toward the track ahead.

Nyx hesitated for a moment before adding, "This is my first time getting on one of these..."

June turned to him, slightly shocked. "Really?"

Nyx nodded firmly. "I’ve never gotten to ride one before. I..." He squeezed his eyes shut again, struggling to cope with the fear.

At that moment, June could understand why. His parents had probably never brought him to a place like this, and growing up in such an environment, he likely hadn’t had anyone who would take him on these kinds of outings.

June sighed, his expression softening into a smile.

"Then it’s a good thing you’re here now!"

Nyx stared at him. "Huh?!"

June smiled warmly. "It’s a good thing you’re here! It’s always nice to experience something for the first time, especially when you’re experiencing it with me."

He stretched out his hand toward Nyx.

"Don’t worry, I’m here. I’ll help you get over your fear on your very first try. Take my hand!"

Nyx was still frightened, his eyes only partially open as he stared at June with uncertainty. He wasn’t entirely convinced this would help.

"Hurry up! We don’t have all day!" June urged with a smile.

Nyx slowly reached for his hand and held it firmly, their fingers intertwining.

June squeezed his hand reassuringly before turning to look at the track ahead. The wind rushed violently through their hair as the ride continued, with the screams of other passengers echoing around them.

"Now what?" Nyx asked, his eyes partially open as he stared at June.

"Nothing," June replied with a smile. "We do nothing."

"Huh?" Nyx looked surprised. "Nothing?"

June nodded. "At this moment, just hold my hand and trust me..." He turned to look at him. "You can stare at me if you want. Just forget about everything else..."

June smiled warmly, and Nyx found his gaze settling on him.

As the ride continued, Nyx couldn’t seem to take his eyes off June. Even when June turned away to enjoy the scenery, Nyx continued staring at him intently, temporarily forgetting everything else around them.

Slowly, a smile crept onto his face.

He smiled at the sight of June, holding his hand a little more firmly. For that brief moment, he had completely forgotten where he was and how terrified he’d been just moments ago.

"How is it?" June asked, turning to look at him. "Enjoying it?"

Immediately, Nyx blinked as reality came crashing back. "Huh? I..."

He tried to look away, but then the realization of where he was hit him all over again.

"AHHHHH!"

Nyx let out a loud scream of terror, gripping June’s hand firmly as he leaned backward. "AHHH!"

The ride was plunging downward, and he could practically feel his entire soul descending with it!

June was startled by Nyx’s sudden scream. For a moment, he stared at him in shock before bursting into laughter. This was undoubtedly the loudest he’d ever heard Nyx, and he couldn’t help finding it adorable.

Still holding his hand, June tried to comfort him with a smile.

"It’s okay, it’s okay... I’m here. I’ll protect you!"

After a while, as the ride climbed upward again, June leaned toward him.

"Do you want to try something interesting and effective?"

Nyx finally stopped screaming as they headed up again. He cautiously opened his eyes and looked at June.

"What’s that...?"

June smiled and leaned closer.

"How about a kiss...?"

Nyx stiffened, turning his attention toward June. "A kiss...?"

June nodded with a smile. "Yes, a kiss. It’s good for distractions. Wanna try?"

Nyx immediately nodded without hesitation or a second thought, as though he’d been waiting for this moment his entire life.

June smiled at his reaction. "Okay, then, so..."

Before June could finish his sentence, Nyx reached up and wrapped his hand around the back of June’s neck, pulling him in for a kiss.

June was rather shocked by the sudden display of dominance and control, but he didn’t protest. Instead, he let himself melt into Nyx, allowing their lips to meet as he slowly closed his eyes.

The two leaned into each other, gently brushing their lips together as they savored the sweetness of the kiss. Then Nyx slowly parted his lips, deepening the kiss as he sought a more intense connection.

Their mouths moved together, their tongues brushing as June reached out to hold Nyx firmly. They clung to each other on the ride, kissing so passionately that they completely forgot about their surroundings.

All they could think about was each other. The warmth of their bodies, their closeness, and the sweet taste of their kisses left them craving more.

They were so engrossed in the kiss that they didn’t even realize when the ride finally came to a stop.

Until a cone of ice cream landed squarely on Nyx’s hair.

"....."

The two froze, Nyx pulling away at the sudden chill on his head. Confused, he looked up to see what had happened, only for the two of them to meet four speechless eyes staring back at them.

Behind them, a mother and her young son had also been enjoying the ride. However, the little boy had been paying close attention to the dynamic between June and Nyx.

When the two suddenly launched into their kiss, both mother and son were left speechless.

The young boy blinked, still holding his ice cream cone firmly in his hand. He raised an eyebrow as he stared at the shocking scene, looking more intrigued than anything else.

His mother, on the other hand, was utterly traumatized.

She gasped and immediately placed a hand over her son’s eyes while June and Nyx continued kissing.

Unfortunately, when the ride finally stopped, the ice cream she’d been trying so hard to protect slipped from the boy’s hand and landed right on Nyx’s hair.

To make matters worse, the boy had apparently been too distracted by the scene to notice.

Nyx and June stared at each other before turning toward the mother and son again. The awkwardness was almost unbearable, and Nyx could only force a stiff smile.

"Hi, little one..." June greeted with a smile.

But the mother immediately pulled her son away, shaking her head in disbelief.

"Shameless! Go get a hotel or something! Sweet Jesus, I need to wash my son’s eyes!" She shook her head as she climbed off the ride and hurried away with her son, who was still demanding more ice cream.

June and Nyx stared at each other for a moment before they both burst into embarrassed laughter.

As they made their way away from the ride, they happened to run into the mother and son again. This time, the little boy had gotten himself another ice cream.

"Look, Mum! It’s the two guys who were eating each other earlier at the roller coaster!" the boy announced excitedly.

His voice was so loud that several passersby stopped to see what he was talking about.

"....."

June and Nyx froze, exchanging an embarrassed glance before slowly turning their attention toward the enthusiastic little boy.
