The scene grew increasingly awkward as more people turned to see what was happening.

The young lady had finally stopped giggling. She blinked as she stared down at the mess she’d made, while June and Nyx slowly turned to look at her, with popcorn and milk scattered all over Nyx’s body.

"....."

The young lady blinked before forcing a smile. "I’m sorry about that..."

June slowly nodded. "It’s okay... Just be careful next time."

The young lady smiled. "Okay..."

June then turned to Nyx with a smile, gently picking the popcorn out of his hair while teasing him about the unfortunate incident. Afterward, he turned back to the screen and continued watching the movie.

"...."

Nyx sat there, absolutely furious, wishing he could throw the young lady out of the theater as punishment for ruining all his plans!

He looked gloomy as he mentally reviewed everything he’d intended to do. At this point, he had no idea what to try next.

And then, an idea struck him.

He could feed June popcorn!

At least that should work!

Nyx sighed and dipped his hand into the bucket, picking up some popcorn before turning to June, who was still engrossed in the movie.

"Mmm, here. I’ll feed you while you watch, so you don’t have to worry about getting it yourself..."

He believed this should be romantic enough!

June smiled and nodded. His eyes remained fixed on the screen as Nyx fed him, popping the pieces of popcorn into his mouth while he happily enjoyed the movie.

Nyx was beginning to feel hopeful. At least things were finally going somewhere! He continued feeding June, offering him one piece, then another, and then a third.

"Ouch!"

June was so engrossed in the movie that he accidentally bit Nyx’s fingers along with the popcorn.

He immediately turned to look at him. "Oh dear... Are you okay?"

Nyx quickly covered his mouth, trying to endure the pain of having his fingers bitten by his own boyfriend. He nodded while holding back his discomfort.

"I’m fine... I’m fine..."

June blinked worriedly. "Are you sure? I’m sorry I bit your fingers..."

Nyx shook his head. "It’s okay... It’s fine..."

He tried to shake off the pain, though he couldn’t help feeling disappointed. There went another romantic moment!

Because honestly, he couldn’t see anything romantic about having his fingers eaten by his own lover.

While Nyx was still recovering from the unfortunate incident, the young lady behind them gently tapped his shoulder to get his attention.

Both of them turned around to find her smiling at them.

"Excuse me..." she began. "But could you spare some popcorn for me too? Mine was unfortunately... spilled all over, so I have nothing left."

"...."

Nyx stared at her in disbelief.

He had so many things he wanted to say to this woman. He wanted to scold her for ruining every single one of his romantic attempts! And now, after all that, she was asking for their popcorn?!

Yet, somehow, Nyx managed to hold himself back. He forced a smile and handed her the bucket.

"Here..."

The young lady smiled happily. "Oh, thanks! Such a sweet couple. I wish you the best date!"

Nyx wanted to tell her, Well, not with you in the picture!

But he held his tongue and turned to June instead.

"I’ll go and get more popcorn."

And that was the end of their movie date.

It was already night when the two stepped out of the movie theater together.

June smiled as he gazed up at the starry sky. "That was a pretty good movie. I almost cried at one point... I guess you do have taste after all!" He turned to Nyx. "What was your favorite scene?"

Nyx blinked.

He couldn’t remember a single scene!

He’d been so busy trying to execute his romantic plans with June that he’d barely paid attention to the movie itself.

"Eh... All your favorite scenes are my favorite too..." he managed to say.

"You..." June shook his head with a smile as they continued walking along the street. "What a cheesy line! Where did you even learn that from?"

Nyx followed beside him, quietly enjoying their walk.

"It’s already late. Do you think we should get a cab back to the academy now?" June asked.

"Eh..." Nyx hesitated. "Why don’t we take a stroll instead? Maybe sit together in a park somewhere... I know a park around here."

He still wanted to spend more time with June. He didn’t want their date to end so quickly, especially when he felt he hadn’t managed to create a truly romantic moment with him yet.

June smiled at him. "You think so? Okay, then."

Nyx immediately smiled in relief.

As they walked side by side along the roadside, Nyx kept glancing down at June’s hand.

He wanted to take it in his own, but he had no idea how to go about it. His hands grew increasingly restless as he struggled to gather the courage to hold June’s hand.

He kept reaching out, only to pull away at the last moment. Sometimes, he’d scratch his head and try again, only to lose his nerve once more.

June noticed the entire struggle and couldn’t help smiling as he shook his head.

Finally, without hesitation, he reached out and took Nyx’s hand in his own.

"You..." Nyx stared at him in surprise as June held his hand, intertwining their fingers with a smile.

"Couples do this all the time," June explained with a smile. "And we’re a couple too. We should do it more often!"

Nyx smiled back at him, holding June’s hand firmly as their fingers remained intertwined. The warmth of their joined hands brought him a quiet sense of happiness.

Smiling at each other, the two continued walking through the streets side by side, their hands clasped together as they headed toward the nearby park.

They didn’t talk much at first, simply enjoying the beautiful night scenery together. Occasionally, they’d point out something interesting or admire a particularly pretty sight.

June, however, soon found himself doing most of the talking. He happily pointed out different things along the way, chatting away as they walked.

Nyx listened with a smile, occasionally glancing at June’s face as he spoke. He was happy now. At least this felt intimate enough, and he was genuinely enjoying how naturally everything was turning out.

They continued like that until they finally arrived at the park and found a bench to sit on together.

The scenery above them was splendid as they settled onto the bench, holding hands while gazing up at the sky.

The moon shone brightly overhead, surrounded by countless stars scattered across the darkness. June even caught sight of a shooting star, his face lighting up with delight.

"So pretty..."

Nyx, who had been watching June the entire time, smiled.

"Mmm. Pretty..."

June turned to look at him, only for Nyx to immediately avert his gaze in embarrassment.

June smiled, having caught him staring.

"I’m your boyfriend now, so you can stare all you want," he teased. "It’s good for the eyes!"

Nyx smiled shyly as he looked down at their intertwined hands. June watched him quietly playing with their fingers for a while before he finally spoke.

"Too bad I couldn’t make our first date memorable for you..." Nyx muttered.

"What do you mean by that? I like this. I really do..."

Nyx looked up at him. "You... liked it?"

June smiled warmly. "Yes. I enjoyed today."

He reached out and gently caressed Nyx’s cheek.

"So don’t worry about it."

Nyx hesitated, his lips forming a slight pout as he stared down at their joined hands.

"But I wasn’t able to successfully execute everything I studied online..."

June almost burst into gentle laughter as he stared at him.

"You..."

Nyx looked at him and finally confessed, "I stayed up late at night reading articles and watching videos about how to plan the perfect date and everything. I wanted to make it perfect for you..." He sighed. "Too bad we didn’t have enough time, and... none of it really worked out."

June simply smiled, listening as Nyx continued rambling.

"The feeding was a failure. I ended up getting my fingers bitten and making a mess..." Nyx muttered, looking increasingly dejected. "And the amusement park ride was embarrassing too! Then, at the movie theater, I tried holding your hand, feeding you popcorn, and even leaning against you, but that girl ruined everything..."

June continued smiling at him with adoring eyes, finding his earnest confession utterly endearing.

Nyx lowered his head further. "It would have been perfect and romantic, but..." He bit his lower lip. "It didn’t work out as planned."

June smiled and reached out to gently pat Nyx’s hair. Nyx immediately looked up at him, his expression softening under the affectionate gesture.

"I’ll try harder next time..." Nyx promised.

June smiled mischievously. "Next time? What about now?"

He held Nyx’s gaze, his smile turning increasingly flirtatious.

"You’re not going to try anything else tonight?"

Nyx swallowed hard as he stared at June. The look in his boyfriend’s eyes was making his heart flutter uncontrollably, leaving him struggling to think straight.

"What do... what do I do?" he managed to ask, swallowing nervously as he continued staring at June.

June smiled, his fingers still playing with Nyx’s as he gazed deeply into his eyes.

"I don’t know. Whatever you want to do to make our date as romantic as you want it to be..."

He paused, his gaze slowly dropping to Nyx’s lips.

"So, why don’t you complete the recommendations you studied online? What’s the one thing you haven’t tried yet?"

Nyx swallowed, staring at June as he struggled to hold himself together.

But he couldn’t keep it in any longer.

"Kissing..." he admitted quietly.

June smiled. "Really...?"

He held Nyx’s gaze, his expression full of playful affection.

"So, wanna try?"
