Chapter 205: 205: NEWS IN MOONLIGHT.

Nyx’s eyes lingered on June’s lips as his breathing grew heavier. Without hesitation, he slowly leaned closer while June closed his eyes, waiting for him.

Nyx gently pressed his lips against June’s, savoring the moment with a soft, sensual breath before deepening the kiss.

His lips moved against June’s, coaxing his mouth open as he drew him into a more passionate kiss.

June let out a quiet groan of pleasure as Nyx’s palms slowly cupped his cheeks, holding him gently but firmly.

June surrendered to him, allowing Nyx’s tongue to slip into his mouth and intertwine with his. As they kissed, Nyx could still taste the milky popcorn lingering on June’s lips, making the moment feel strangely sweet.

Their breathing grew heavier as June’s hand slowly moved to Nyx’s chest, caressing it while Nyx kissed him more passionately.

He gently bit June’s lower lip before sucking on it, the soft sounds of their kiss filling the quiet surroundings.

Just as the kiss grew more intense and urgent, a ball suddenly flew through the air and struck Nyx hard on the head, instantly breaking them apart.

"Ouch!" Nyx pulled back almost immediately, and June did the same. The two stared down at the ball that had fallen to the ground, only to watch as a little boy rushed over to pick it up.

"Sorry!" the little boy apologized with a bow before turning and rushing off to continue playing with his friends at a distance.

"....."

June and Nyx said nothing, simply watching the little boy run off.

June suddenly gasped. "Who plays this late...?"

Nyx shook his head, running a hand through his hair. "At this point, I think it’s obvious that fate doesn’t want this to happen..."

June couldn’t help bursting into laughter as he stared at Nyx, who sat there sulking like a big baby over his missed opportunity.

"What? Why are you laughing...?" Nyx asked, staring at him as June shook his head, trying to stop his laughter.

"No, no... I’m sorry." June smiled at him again. "It’s okay. Don’t worry about it at all. We can always do that next time, okay?"

Nyx hesitated before slowly nodding. "Okay... I’ll plan a better date next time, too..."

June smiled and gently patted his hand over Nyx’s hair. "It’s okay. We can just hold hands instead and enjoy the scenery. What do you say?"

Nyx stared down at their hands as June took his palm in his and intertwined their fingers. Then June turned his gaze toward the sky, and the two of them settled down to admire the starry night beneath the full moon.

They held each other’s hands firmly, with Nyx clinging to June as if he might disappear at any moment.

"The moon is pretty tonight..." June remarked.

Nyx smiled as he stared at him. "Do you think something special is happening in the atmosphere for the sky to be so pretty tonight? Eh?"

Nyx shrugged. "I don’t know..."

Just then, he caught sight of a shooting star and smiled. "A shooting star..." He turned to June. "Make a wish."

"Me? I don’t really believe in that... Besides, I’m too old for that now."

"It doesn’t matter. Let’s just make a wish, okay?" Nyx insisted, clasping his hands together and closing his eyes. "Hurry up, okay?"

June smiled. He had no choice but to play along. Clasping his hands together, he looked up at the sky before closing his eyes and making a wish of his own.

When they were done, Nyx opened his eyes and looked down at June. "So? What did you wish for?"

June stared at him. "Huh? Isn’t it supposed to be a secret? Why are you asking...?"

Nyx shook his head. "Since we’re dating, it isn’t a secret anymore. So, tell me quickly! I’ll tell you mine, too. I wished that we’d be together for eternity, in this world and the next... Forever." He smiled warmly. "So, what did you wish for?"

June gazed at him with a gentle smile. "Well, I guess our wishes are similar. I also wished for us to be together forever... and for our next date to be more to your liking."

Hearing that, Nyx smiled and took June’s hand again. "Since we’ve already made the wish, it’ll certainly come true," he declared with a smile.

June nodded firmly.

And so, the two sat together, gazing up at the starry night while June quietly thought about his wish.

He hadn’t wished for what he had told Nyx. Instead, he had made a simple wish that he could only pray the universe would listen to.

Please give Nyx his happy ending...

That was all he had wished for. And even though he didn’t believe in such things, he hoped the universe might listen to him, just this once...

---

The peaceful night was soon disrupted by terrible news flooding the internet, taking over trending searches and topics across social media.

Grey was in his office at the organization when he came across the news. His expression darkened as he abruptly sat up, staring at his phone with a gasp.

Without hesitation, he rushed to Syll’s office to report it. However, when he arrived, he found Syll already sitting there, staring at his own phone with the same grim expression.

Grey guessed that Syll had seen the news, too. He slowly looked up, and the two stared at each other for a while.

Neither of them spoke. They already knew what had happened.

---

Immediately afterward, Syll and Grey, accompanied by Grey’s teammates, got into a car and made their way to the scene.

When their car pulled over, they found a chaotic scene filled with police cars, media crews, and experts from various Guild organizations, along with members of the Esper-Guide organization who had also arrived to investigate.

Syll and Grey stepped out of the car and approached the scene, only to be swarmed by reporters. Cameras flashed in their faces as microphones were thrust toward them, and endless questions came flying from every direction.

"What do you think about the situation?"

"Were you aware this would happen?"

"Are they dead or still alive? What do you think?"

"Can they be saved?"

"Please explain what happened!"

Syll and the others ignored the reporters as they made their way toward the scene. The security personnel accompanying them helped shield them from the crowd until they reached the area, where police officers and important organization officials had gathered.

Upon seeing them arrive, the officers turned toward them, ready to discuss the situation.

"You’re Mr. Syll, right? The CEO of the Red Dust Guild?" one of the Esper investigators asked.

Syll nodded, his gaze fixed on the area cordoned off with a DO NOT CROSS sign. He wondered if that was where it had happened.

"Yes, he is," Grey confirmed.

"Were you aware this might happen? Or do you have any idea what actually occurred?" the investigator demanded.

Grey slowly shook his head. "We weren’t..."

They all turned their attention toward the scene, staring at it in silence for a while.

A dungeon gate was supposed to be there. At least, that was where everyone remembered seeing it last.

It had led to a low-risk dungeon that Grey’s subordinates had been sent to handle. It was the same dungeon Grey and the others had believed would be an easy mission with little to no risk.

Yet, something strange had happened.

The dungeon had begun exhibiting unusual reactions before suddenly disappearing into thin air, as though it had never existed. Even before it vanished, the men inside had remained there far longer than they should have.

It was as if they had been trapped. They hadn’t come out, and the Red Dust organization had reported receiving strange signals from within the dungeon, along with increasingly unstable connections to the people inside.

They waited for a while, expecting the team to emerge. But before long, the connection disappeared completely, and the men vanished along with the dungeon.

The worst part was that the organization, along with several institutions, had attempted to locate the dungeon, which had been clearly identifiable only a short while ago.

But there was no sign of it.

It was as though the dungeon had never existed in the first place. No matter how many times they searched using professional equipment and high-end technology, they couldn’t locate it.

"If the organization can’t explain what happened, then I guess it’s a mystery," one of the Esper investigators said, clearing his throat.

"It doesn’t have the characteristics of an anomaly dungeon at all. At least, it was never recorded as one. So what could possibly have happened to it?" another investigator asked, staring into the empty space where the gate was supposed to have stood.

Syll said nothing. He and the rest of the team were overwhelmed by the terrible realization that the missing people were their own subordinates. They had been the ones to send them on the mission, believing it would be a simple task, only for them to end up in this situation.

Guilt and dread weighed heavily on Syll as he finally managed to speak.

"Let me through," he said, his eyes fixed on the scene. "Let me take a closer look."
