Chapter 405: Dangerous Tower

  • Next Chapter

"Shall we go?"

Xiao Yue asked with a smile.

Fang Raon nodded, stood up from the rock, and then followed behind her as they walked deeper into the forest.

The secret was that Xiao Yue had been secretly helping him with the floor bosses.

Of course, since she had already cleared the floors, she shouldn’t be able to try them again, but there was a way.

A little cheesing method.

She sent her demon minions to assist Fang Raon while she waited outside—the game didn’t consider that as cheating.

It would be a different case altogether if Fang Raon was with nine other people, and then some outsider helped.

Then the game would probably have something to say about that.

"I am so close to level 6. I’d like to reach that before leaving this floor, if possible."

Fang Raon said.

"The floor boss is different on this floor. It’s not the usual kind. You might be able to reach level 6 if you’re able to defeat it."

Xiao Yue said, and she then snapped her fingers, and a tower key appeared in her hand, and with a smile on her face, she handed it to Raon.

In that moment, they found the tower in the middle of the Battle Forest, and they heard sounds of fighting echoing from within.

There never was a dull moment in Battle Forest.

There was always a fight somewhere.

"Rise, my army."

Xiao Yue touched the ground with her white hand, and then a chasm appeared on the ground, and from there, creatures rose.

They were made of lava and molten rock—some were made of soil and tree roots—they were her loyal minions.

"You will have one hour to beat the floor boss. This is the first floor with an actual time limit, so you need to be quick to find the boss.

"It’ll be freezing cold inside, so you’ll be trembling in cold, and in one hour, you will freeze to death."

Xiao Yue said.

"Okay."

Fang Raon said.

Then, he approached the door, used the key on it, and the door’s gears started turning and spinning.

The double doors slowly opened.

"Good luck..."

Xiao Yue said and then gave him a hug—which came as a surprise to Fang Raon—and he felt her breath on his neck.

’She has been acting strange lately...’

Fang Raon thought.

They then separated, and Xiao Yue moved her hair over her ear and gave him a thumbs up with a smile on her pink lips.

"One hour..."

Fang Raon checked the time on the interface, and then he said, "See you on the other side," and he ran inside the tower.

The minions quickly followed after him, as Xiao Yue had already given them the order to follow and listen to every word of Fang Raon.

BANG~!

The double doors slammed shut.

It’s dark...

That was the only thought that ran down Fang Raon’s mind when he entered the tower—pitch black, as if the darkness itself was alive and suffocating.

Fang Raon pulled out a torch, lit it up, and moved it in front of him and let the fire scare away the darkness in front of him.

In that moment.

At the end of the hallway, there was another door, and Fang Raon gave it a gentle push, and it opened effortlessly.

Howl~! Howl~! Howl~!

A cold wind gusted through the doorway, and Fang Raon felt like he was really, really unclothed for this.

Without taking another step, he quickly put on warmer clothes and then slowly walked through the doorway.

HOWL~!

The cold wind killed the light on the torch, but it was fine, as it wasn’t dark anymore and was instead quite bright.

"...Where am I?"

Fang Raon opened his eyes wide and saw that his feet were buried in snow—he had appeared in some snow landscape.

It did resemble the second floor quite a bit—with the snow forests and snow mountains in the distance—but it was much, much colder.

The sky was bright blue, and the ice crystals in the air sparkled like diamonds in the sunlight.

Swoosh~!

A blue-feathered arrow came for his head, but Raon quickly caught it, twisting it out of the air with ease.

He looked at the arrow.

The arrow was freezing cold, and his hand started turning to ice!

Crack!

Fang Raon snapped it in half and looked towards the forest but couldn’t see anybody, which wasn’t a good sign.

’I can’t sense anybody. I can’t see anybody. I have a bad feeling about this place. Maybe coming here alone wasn’t the wisest thing to do.

’However, if it was impossible for me to clear this alone, Xiao Yue would’ve stopped me—but she did seem worried at the end.’

Fang Raon thought.

Swoosh~!

In that moment, arrows started flying through the air—they had the same blue feather—and they rained on them from the sky!

Fang Raon forged a shield quickly and shielded himself behind it, and the arrows smashed against his shield but failed to break through.

On the other hand.

Xiao Yue’s minions were shredded apart, and as soon as they got hit by the arrow, they got turned into ice!

All of them were instantly dead!

’That’s insane.’

Fang Raon thought.

Xiao Yue’s minions were really, really strong, and they have been a great help during previous floors.

Now they were easily defeated!

’It does feel like the difficulty of the tower has now increased tremendously.’

Fang Raon was weighing his opinions.

He could wait till the doors would reopen so he could escape this tower without defeating the boss.

Or he could give it a try.

’Why did Xiao Yue let me go here? Did she send me here to die? I don’t know, but I got some questions for her.’

Fang Raon narrowed his eyes, but he didn’t want to give up on this just yet.

He suddenly dashed with Godspeed and disappeared into the cold, winter forest—on the trees, some creatures watched him go.

They were blue-skinned creatures—tall, lanky, and dangerously beautiful—with pointed ears of an elf.

They were Ice Elves!
