Chapter 404: End of Xtreme

  • Next Chapter

I Challenge You was an extremely risky Innate Skill.

It was one of the reasons why Fang Raon almost never used it because the risk for using it was massive.

If his fight didn’t go his way, and his opponent was stronger than he anticipated, he couldn’t just run away.

He had to finish the fight.

Now, he really didn’t have any choice because he was facing an entire party of people all by himself.

With I Challenge You, he was able to isolate their strongest player and fight him one-on-one, which was much more manageable than going against ten people at once.

However.

He could only use I Challenge You once a day, so once this fight was over, if he survived, he would still have nine left to deal with.

The fight started.

Herbert stomped over to him—the shield and longsword in hand—there were no visible weaknesses in sight.

The large armor that he was wearing seemed tight around his big-boned body, but it covered every single inch of skin.

Then, there was also the helmet.

It sat heavily upon Herbert’s head. A thick crest of horsehair rose from its crown and swept backward.

Broad cheek guards framed his face, leaving only his eyes and the hard line of his mouth exposed.

The whole helmet was very imposing. It was made for people to fear him. It was one of the tricks that Tank players liked to use.

If his opponents already feared him, using Intimidation skill was extremely effective since the seed of fear was already planted.

"I am Herbert—remember the name!"

Herbert swung his sword with great force—using just one hand even though his sword wasn’t made for one-handed use—but it still moved effortlessly.

Fang Raon stopped the sword with the Blackest Blade, but it was a heavy strike, and his feet inched back.

He opened his left hand, forged several small knives, and then hurled them towards Herbert’s face.

"Shield!"

Herbert blocked the flying knives with his large shield, and then he pushed it forward and slammed it into Fang Raon!

Fang Raon was sent flying back, but he quickly flipped himself over while flying, and stabbed the sword in the ground to stop himself.

"Intimidation!"

Herbert smacked his shield with his sword, and a wave of oppressive energy radiated outwards, causing Fang Raon to freeze in place.

Thump~! Thump~! Thump~!

Herbert started stomping over at him like a raging bull and moved his longsword into a stabbing stance.

"Maxima!"

Fang Raon broke through the shackles of intimidation and quickly swung the Blackest Blade and stopped the longsword in place.

Yet.

His feet kept sliding backwards through the ground.

"Horse of the Herbert!"

Herbet jumped into the air, and out of nowhere, a black horse appeared under him, and he sat astride the beast.

’A horse summon?’

Fang Raon had never seen something like this before.

"Ride and trample over everything!"

Herbert swung his sword, like he was giving the horse an order, and then the horse started galloping.

It tried running over Fang Raon, but he quickly rolled out of the way and watched as it turned around.

Herbert pulled out a long spear from his inventory—replacing his longsword—and charged towards Raon.

The spear came from his head.

"Maxima!"

Fang Raon sliced through the spear’s shaft—breaking it in two—and the horse kept galloping a little further away.

It then stopped.

Herbert hopped off the saddle and pulled out his sword yet again.

"Horses of the Herbert Family!"

Behind him, horses materialized from nothingness—they were all strong-looking—with muscular bodies, and shining coats.

"I am Summoner Tank. You should’ve reconsidered fighting me. I am basically a one-man army. I do not need anybody else!"

Herbert said with confidence.

Then he gave the order to the three horses, and they started galloping towards Fang Raon.

With his left hand, Fang Raon forged knives—he threw three knives and killed the three horses—the horses collapsed to the ground and vanished.

In that moment.

Fang Raon started dancing—the Blackest Blade moved like an extension of his arm—it then started releasing black petals.

The black petals swirled around him in a dark whirlwind, creating an ominous aura.

’I don’t like this.’

Herbert thought, and then he shielded himself behind his large shield, as he had a feeling that something dangerous was about to happen.

"Aurel’s Black Petal Execution!"

Fang Raon finished the dance, and he then swung the blade, and dark petals started flying out of the blade.

They moved as quickly as bullets!

"Oh..."

Herbert’s eyes widened in a shock.

...

Outside the Fight Dimension, in the Battle Forest, the members of the Xtreme guild were just standing around.

"...Where in the hell did they go?"

Hermann asked with a pissed-off look.

"I tried sending a message to Herbert, but he isn’t answering. I can still see that he is online, so he isn’t dead!"

A woman said, but then, as she looked back at the friend list, the name of Herbert turned black—it only meant one thing.

Herbert had just died!

"No..."

She whispered with disbelief.

In that moment, the leaves on the ground started moving—whirling wildly around the clearing in the sudden gust of wind.

And then...

A man appeared in the middle of the moving leaves—he wasn’t Herbert—instead, he was Fang Raon!

"He has returned!"

Hermann screamed.

"Where the hell is boss, huh?!"

One of them asked, but Fang Raon just smiled and looked around the forest and then met with the Helper’s gaze.

"Godspeed!"

Fang Raon sped through the forest and drove his sword through the Helper’s forehead with a swift, lethal strike.

An Instant Kill!

"Shit, attack him!"

Attacks flew straight at Fang Raon, and he moved through the flurry of attacks with amazing movements.

He was dancing, weaving through the attacks as if they were nothing but a light breeze on a summer’s day.

’Finally...’

Fang Raon thought.

The Weakness Buff finally ended. It was active even back in Fight Dimension. But despite it, he still managed to defeat Herbert.

"Shadow Bind!"

Hermann controlled Fang Raon’s shadow and trapped his ankles with the shadow, stopping him from moving.

The magic spells rained down on Fang Raon, but he just threw them with the sword, easily deflecting each one.

Then.

He sliced through his own shadow, freeing himself from the binds, and then he turned towards Hermann.

Hermann was the most annoying person in the whole party!

"Ah..."

Hermann saw him look straight at him, and he quickly turned his heel around and started running.

But it was pointless.

"Heart Stabber!"

Fang Raon drove his sword through Hermann’s heart—with a new skill, Heart Stabber, he got from clearing one of the floors.

"Ugh..."

Hermann dropped to the ground—dead like the flower next to him—and his eyes slowly closed in death.

The rest of the party flinched in fear. They were white in fear. Then, Fang Raon turned to look at them with a smile.

"Run!"

One of them shouted, and they started spreading across the forest, but Fang Raon caught each of them and slashed them down.

Their blood ran down the ground.

[Next Level: 94%]

’Close.’

Fang Raon thought.

He wasn’t planning to leave this forest before he was level 6.

Once he had reached level 6, his power would increase tremendously, and he would truly be among the elite.

He, honestly, already was, as he already defeated Herbert, who was guild leader of one of the top 50 guilds.

However.

Herbert’s guild was only in the top 50 because of the size of their guild—they had over a hundred members.

It was one of the bigger guilds in the world, as Herbert just accepted whoever wanted to join, regardless of their skill level.

"Whew."

Fang Raon sat down on a rock, looked at his chat move at crazy speed, and the number of his viewers finally cracked the 6,000 mark.

It was nice to have so many viewers.

However, there was something he needed to, and he didn’t want his chat seeing it—as it was somewhat secret.

"Thank you all for watching today’s stream. I’ll be seeing all of you tomorrow."

Fang Raon saluted to the camera, and the chat said goodbye, and then he stopped the stream.

’I did show Anchor and Forge at the stream, but honestly, I think they all just thought it was another skill of mine.

’I didn’t include the part where Devon talked about them either in the video, so they still have stayed as secret.’

"Nice fighting."

In that moment, a voice came behind him.

"It would’ve been nice if you had helped me."

Fang Raon turned his head around and saw a beautiful woman walk over to him—skin as white as milk—and a body that moved gracefully with each step.

Any man in the world would’ve been mesmerized by her beauty.

"This meeting is supposed to be secret, is it not? I had to hide from your camera so that your girlfriends don’t come attacking me.

"Giggle~."

Xiao Yue giggled and sat down next to Fang Raon on the rock and looked around the destroyed forest.

"My father is very grateful that you told him about the Virtual Reality Pod X. It does indeed work, we tested it. I can somehow lift my couch with one hand now.

"He said that he will have a drink with you one day. I guess my father likes you."

Xiao Yue said with a smile.
