He couldn’t believe what this Aron guy was saying. Within the State of Silver, if not thousands, then there should be hundreds of cities like Flameheart.

Many of them are even ten times or more larger and stronger than Flameheart City, yet everyone combined couldn’t match a single legion from the so-called City of Blood, which was too shocking to him.

He couldn’t even fathom what kind of strength the City of Blood would possess. Aron, supposedly a deputy commander, had strength already surpassing the transformation level; then the strength of a commander might even surpass that, and this was the third legion. There were two more legions, whom at least as strong as this legion and could be even stronger.

Just thinking made him feel like an ant, and he quickly understood he was just a weak bloodline awakener and had a very long way to go. After calming down, he looked at Aron, listening to his every word.

Aron, on the other hand, noticed the shocked expression on Max’s face, learning a bit about the strength of the City of Blood. Yes, that was the expression he wanted to see, so he continued.

"Now you can understand a little about the scale and power of the City of Blood."

"But the truly shocking thing is that you have a very deep connection with the City of Blood."

He paused.

"In fact, your connection to the City of Blood is even deeper than mine."

After saying this, he looked at Max. Max’s eyes seemed to shine as he seemed to guess, "Could it be I am..."

He didn’t finish his sentence, and Aron nodded and said in a deep voice, "Yes, you are the descendant of the city lord and are the young master of the City of Blood."

"Fuck! Really?"

He expected some bullshit but didn’t expect he had directly reached the peak of all bullshit. He suddenly became a young master. Like, how can such a powerful family lose their descendant? Didn’t they have some decent security for their own family?

When he saw the pendant he had had since birth, he knew he might have a decent background, but he didn’t expect it to reach such a level, and yet they lost him. He couldn’t doubt what kind of power the city lord of the City of Blood is if he cannot protect his own descendant.

Either the City of Blood must be in trouble, or there is too much mess within the family itself, like those shitty family dramas fighting for power. Either way, it wouldn’t be easy.

He would not be happy just learning that he was supposed to be a gold spoon, not a platinum spoon, person, as he knew such a powerful family would have even more terrifying danger.

Max couldn’t help but sigh; he was too weak to do anything about it. But he still calmly listened.

Aron looked at Max and was a bit surprised, as he seemed calmer than he expected, even learning he was a young master of the City of Blood.

He couldn’t help but nod; it seemed he was much clearer-headed than he expected.

As expected of a city lord’s descendant, he thought and then continued, "Good, you are calm. You might have guessed I came here only to find you and bring you back."

Max nodded as he expected that but still couldn’t help but ask, feeling a bit curious. "How can you be sure that I am the descendant of your City Lord? You didn’t check my blood or something."

"Haha, don’t worry. I’m naturally certain."

As he said this, Aron looked at the pendant around his neck.

"This pendant contains the blood of the City Lord. It will resonate with those who possess the same bloodline, so you don’t need to doubt it."

He paused before looking at Max thoughtfully.

"But you should also have a similar pendant, shouldn’t you?"

His expression became slightly doubtful.

"Even though there was an incident about two decades ago, every child of the City Lord’s family was supposed to have one of these pendants for protection..."

Max scratched his cheek with a smile. "I lost it due to some complication... Could it be an extraordinary item, and like your pendant, can seal others?"

He asked if that was the case; then he might really lose quite a lot, as Aron, with this similar-looking pendant, almost sealed that terrifying Lady of Salvation.

"Ah, you don’t have to feel bad; those pendants wouldn’t be like the one I have, as this was bestowed personally by the City Lord, while the pendants given to children are at most low-level spiritual items, nothing much," Aron said with a laugh like it was nothing.

But hearing this, Max still couldn’t help but sigh.

No matter what Aron said, Max had already understood how valuable spiritual items and treasures could be.

Even among the nobles, such treasures weren’t necessarily common. Yet he who wasn’t even a bloodline awakener had possessed one since birth.

Although he had traded it away in exchange for a chance to survive, he could only accept that it had been a fair trade.

"Alright, enough talking." Aron stood up.

"Since I’ve found you, let’s go." He looked directly at Max.

"We are returning to the City of Blood. The City Lord himself ordered me to bring you back." His voice carried a hint of authority.

This wasn’t a request. It was his mission.

Max knows that he might not have a say in it and have to leave with him. Although he didn’t want to leave, being a free mercenary actually wasn’t bad, but the City of Blood is a behemoth, and he didn’t know what would happen after he arrived.

"Hmm, can I take someone with me, senior?" He asked as he was thinking of taking Stella with him, as she seemed to have made some sort of contract with him.

Aron furrowed his brows hearing this, but seeing the anxious expression on Max’s face, he nodded. "It’s alright, but you can only bring one person now. If you want to bring someone from here, you can do so after you settle down."

Outside the inn, at that moment, nobles had already gathered, wanting to know what had just happened and from where such terrifying auras came.
