Bloodbound To My Four Archenemies.
Chapter 120: Wholly and completely.
July 24 2026, 12:07pm.
Now, let me take y’all back a few minutes.
Nyx’ara had jumped, yes. She had even broken a few bones and had even cracked her skull open. In truth, she should be dead by now, but for some reason, as soon as everything went black, a strange sensation began to run up the entire length of her body.
Her entire body went cold all at once, making her feel and appear as though she was a corpse. But he did not feel any pain.
Not even the one which had been simmering like boiling soup somewhere between her broken ribs only moments ago, and definitely not the one that had been pounding somewhere at the back of her head as her skull cracked open.
The vision of her late mother had only lasted for a couple of seconds before everything disappeared into a cloud of smoke, and now, as she struggled to wake up, she vaguely heard the broken sounds of a man trying to force her awake.
He sounded a little like Alpha Azriel... or Alpha Kieran, she was not sure!
All four brothers had been extremely scared and on edge upon seeing her state, but when Draven, Rhys, and Kieran noticed that she was already slowly gaining consciousness, meaning she was not in as much danger as they thought, they began to make a joke of Azriel.
Speaking of Azriel, he wiped the corners of his face one more time and when he realized that Nyx’ara was indeed stirring awake, a smile began to make its way to his face:
"You scared me..." he muttered, sounding as though he was afraid of being heard.
He took a step backward and frowned deeply when his bruised knee protested painfully. It was the same knee he had bumped against the wall earlier in a fit of blind desperation. And it wasn’t until he felt this pain that he thought long and hard enough to lift his head and ask;
"What happened?"
What happened?
That was something none of the other brothers wanted to think or talk about. All they knew was that she had walked out on them in a fit of rage after asking to be freed. Rhys felt the saddest because he’d seen the tears in her eyes... he had felt the pain in her voice... and goddess, everyone had seen how much she wanted to leave.
But they could not allow it.
And now, she’d tried to kill herself.
Kieran was the guest to snap out of his momentary haze. He stole one glance at the girl who now seemed as though she was fast asleep, and drawled; "After we find the murderer, I think it’ll be best to let her go."
Azriel frowned. He hissed; "Huh?"
"You wanted to know what happened..." Rhys cut in, his tone grave, "...that is what happened. She asked to be free from us. She asked to be set free but we refused. I guess she prefers to be dead than to be with us. So we should let her—"
"No." Draven snarled, interrupting him.
He was one of the few who had the least encounters with Nyx’ara, yet he was so obsessed with her presence and so weirdly different around her— hence the reason he had intentionally made himself scarce— that he could not begin to imagine what the house would feel like with her gone.
He hated that she had this much power over him. Hated that he sounded so selfish right now, but that did not stop him from continuing. He drawled;
"She can grow to tolerate us... she is already married to u—"
"Against her will." Azriel finished coldly. "We married her because we wanted to hurt her for killing our sister. We did, not because of the mate bond, which we have completely ignored so far, but because we wanted to break her." And now, she has broken us. He said, but the last part remained what it is— a thought.
He didn’t dare give the thought a voice.
"If she wants to leave, we should let her go before something like this happens again."
The thought of seeing her in this state another time made them weak to the bones. It made them scared and bothered and they all shook their heads in unison.
I know that you may be wondering why they have refused to take her to the hospital, but it is not that they have refused. It is that she was healed.
Completely.
Absolutely.
Hell, it almost felt as though everything that happened had happened in a dream. Her hair was still bloody and now matted but there were no more signs of the terrible split in her skull.
Her body no longer felt limp but seemed as though life had been restored into it and the color had returned to her skin.
The brothers however, were not surprised by this because they could all remember the words Doctor Jemima had said to them the first time she ever treated Nyx’ara.
She had informed them that she was not— that she was never— an omega, but still, it was a little surprising that she could heal so quickly only after a couple of weeks of being away from her toxic pack and family.
Only Alpha wolves could do that... and not even all Alpha wolves could.
"That party must hold," Draven hissed as though voicing the thoughts in everyone’s head. "We need to do it for Leilani and for Nyx’ara."
"We need to unravel the twisted truths that had been hidden for so long."
Rhys said nothing but instead walked into the house with Nyx’ara still pressed firmly to his chest, and in his mind, he already knew that he would protect her no matter what it took.
He would watch her and stand by her... and he would break each and every member of her family for making her so weak.
His breath caught when she stirred in her sleep, and goddess when he stopped to look at her face, his knees almost buckled.
His heart skipped several beats.
And his blood rushed to his face.
Why?
Because then he realized something for the first time. He realized that this girl... this girl who welcomed him with a slap... this girl who was a touch of hot and cold... this girl who infuriates him as much as she intrigues him... had his heart.
Wholly and completely
