[BL]The Matchmaker Guide Doesn't Want Love
Chapter 150: Ch 150: Spending time together - Part 2
Noah understood why he was feeling so complicated about the situation, but he could not say those words out loud. So he tried his best to remain neutral.
However, Erin seemed to notice the change in his expression almost immediately.
He watched Noah for a moment before turning his attention towards Alan, who was still standing beside Daniel as if he had no intention of leaving anytime soon.
"I think it is about time we headed back, Alan. We should allow them both to rest," Erin said casually, making it sound like a simple suggestion rather than a request.
Alan immediately frowned at him and turned towards Daniel with an annoyed expression.
"But I want to stay a little longer. It feels like ages since I last saw Noah," he complained, as though Daniel was the one who could make the decision for him.
Daniel hesitated, his eyes moving towards Noah for a moment before he finally looked back at Alan. There was something strange in his expression that Noah could not quite understand, but before he could think too much about it, Daniel sighed.
"You should go now, Alan."
Alan looked like he wanted to argue, but after staring at Daniel for a few seconds, he eventually gave in and left the room with a reluctant expression.
Once the door closed behind him, Noah looked at Daniel and forced himself to smile.
"Congratulations. You seem to have gotten quite close to Alan," Noah said, trying to sound genuinely happy for him.
Daniel’s eyes widened slightly before he immediately shook his head.
"It is nothing like that. We are barely even friends."
Noah blinked at him, but the expression on Daniel’s face made him hesitate.
There was something behind those words that Noah could not understand, and for some reason, asking about it suddenly felt like crossing a line he should not cross.
He had expected Daniel to be happy about getting closer to Alan, especially after everything that had happened, but instead, Daniel looked almost troubled by it.
Noah lowered his gaze, pretending not to notice.
"I see. Still, you are able to tolerate each other now. Isn’t that progress as well?"
He wanted to ask what was wrong, but the words refused to come out. Somehow, Noah felt that if he asked Daniel what was really going on, he might hear an answer he was not ready to face.
Daniel looked at Noah with his dark eyes. They seemed to be accusing Noah of something, and he felt tense under their gaze.
But he still did not divert his eyes away from Daniel’s, which caused the other guide to let out a chuckle before reaching for Noah’s face and placing his hand over his eyes.
"Just go to sleep now. The more you think about this situation, the more you will feel confused. It would be for the best to allow your mind to rest."
Daniel assured Noah, and he felt his knees hit the bed as he was forced to walk back. He collapsed backwards, and Daniel’s weight crushed him.
When Daniel finally pulled his hand away, his face was flushed and just inches away from Noah’s own.
The mood was such that anything could happen, but nothing did happen in the end. All Daniel did was pull away and collapse beside Noah.
"Don’t think too much about anything and just go to sleep. I am sure tomorrow will be better."
What was happening? Why was Daniel acting so distant? It was as if he had realised something and decided to slowly cut Noah off his life and remain friends...which was fine.
This was supposed to happen. Noah should not be so disappointed even if his heart felt like it was ripping apart.
’Maybe this is temporary? I will see tomorrow.’
...
The next day started even worse for Noah.
His stomach was killing him, and he felt a little dizzy. He slowly got up with a raging headache and looked around the room. But he was the only one there.
"Daniel? Are you there?"
He asked in a raspy voice, but there was no answer. His roommate was nowhere to be seen, so Daniel looked around for a note.
There was a note that Daniel left, but it only served to make Noah’s mood worse.
[I will be heading out first. You looked like you needed to sleep more, so I did not disturb you. You should skip class if you are not feeling well.]
It felt like a heartfelt gift, but it only served to make Noah’s mood worse after reading it. He put it back down and threw himself back against the bed with his body spread out.
"What should I do now? I don’t want to head to class right now. But I also don’t want to stay in my room..."
Noah felt conflicted, but he quickly made a decision in the end. He forced his body back up and headed out towards class since he finally felt good enough.
There were only two students in the class when he entered the classroom during lunch break. It was Alan and Daniel.
Noah opened his mouth and waved at the pair, but he stopped at the last second when he noticed the weird air between them.
Alan had Daniel pinned against the desk, and it was hard to see their expressions. But from where Noah stood, it looked a little passionate, and he felt like he could not interfere between the two.
So he stood in the doorway, looking at the pair. He kept looking at them until he felt another presence standing behind him.
"Student Noah, how long are you going to keep standing there for? And Student Alan! Student Daniel! This is no place to be getting passionate. It is nice to see that you are getting along, but it’s time to learn now."
The teacher’s voice caused Daniel and Alan to pull apart with flushed expressions. Noah could only smile awkwardly as his presence was announced to the pair, and he quickly headed into the class and sat down beside the pair.
But he could not bring himself to meet their eyes.
