Bonding System: I Grow Stronger by Taming My Sect Elders

Chapter 50: Accomplishing the Impossible

He steadied his thoughts and focused on the challenge before him. Then, he imagined something that gave him the strength to move forward.

His legs trembled violently as he took another step. The spectators drew sharp breaths.

Some desperately hoped he would remain standing, while others secretly wished to see him fall. After all, he was so close to accomplishing something extraordinary that his success would inevitably leave a lasting impression on everyone watching.

Yet, Veyron had no intention of stopping.

He imagined the beautiful face of his beloved aunt, Aveline, followed by his loving senior sister, Xialyn. Then, his thoughts drifted toward the other women he still intended to win over.

"I’ve come this far. I can’t stop now. "

He gathered the last remnants of his determination and took the final step.

He had finally reached the twentyfold gravity zone.

The moment he crossed the boundary, the overwhelming pressure crashed down upon him with terrifying force, instantly forcing his body downward.

For a brief moment, the entire Azure Battle Grounds fell silent.

Then—

"HE DID IT!"

"VEYRON IGNIS HAS ACCOMPLISHED THE IMPOSSIBLE!"

Elder Leo’s thunderous announcement shattered the silence.

The Azure Battle Grounds erupted into deafening cheers, the excitement spreading through the entire venue like wildfire. It felt as though Veyron had just won a major tournament rather than completed the first trial of the Inner Court disciple selection.

His name resounded throughout the grounds as countless spectators celebrated his extraordinary achievement.

And the excitement wasn’t limited to those present at the Azure Battle Grounds. Across the sect, disciples and Elders who had witnessed the final projection erupted into cheers of their own.

Of course, not everyone was happy. There were still those who disliked Veyron and resented the attention he was receiving.

Nevertheless, their displeasure was drowned out by the overwhelming excitement surrounding his achievement.

The final projection had been broadcast throughout the entire sect as a special exception, following orders from someone with sufficient authority to make such a decision.

After all, Veyron’s determination had done more than astonish the spectators.

It had ignited something within the hearts of countless disciples, inspiring them to challenge their own limits. For many who had been struggling with their cultivation, witnessing his feat had provided the motivation they needed to break through their bottlenecks.

And so, while Veyron had become the first participant to complete the trial’s greatest challenge, his achievement was already producing unexpected consequences throughout the Azure Sky Sect.

As Veyron’s body finally gave in to the overwhelming pressure, his last thought was a simple one.

"I couldn’t get the medallion into my hands..."

With that thought, he lost consciousness, and his body disappeared from the hall, reappearing on the Azure Battle Grounds.

[Sigh... What a fool. Doesn’t he know he’ll still receive the medallion after everything he’s accomplished?]

The moment Veyron’s unconscious body appeared on the Azure Battle Grounds, Aveline vanished from her seat and reappeared in the arena, gently catching her beloved baby in her arms.

Looking at his bloodied appearance, her heart ached terribly. Without hesitation, she began wiping the blood from his face with her robe, holding him close as though she never wanted to let him go.

Veyron remained unconscious, unable to feel the warmth of his beloved aunt or the overwhelming love she poured into her embrace.

The sight left many spectators feeling envious. After all, who wouldn’t want to rest peacefully in the soft, jade-like arms of Grand Elder Aveline?

However, Aveline paid no attention to the surrounding gazes. Her entire world seemed to revolve around the unconscious young man in her arms.

She then raised her head and looked toward Elder Leo, who had been momentarily surprised by her sudden appearance in the arena.

Understanding what she meant, Leo quickly composed himself and addressed the audience.

"With this, we have officially concluded the first trial of this year’s Inner Court disciple selection! Since it is already evening, the second and third trials will be held tomorrow!"

His announcement echoed throughout the Azure Battle Grounds, marking the end of an extraordinary first day—one that would undoubtedly be remembered for Veyron Ignis and his astonishing achievement.

....

Jade Mist Peak...

Veyron slowly opened his eyes and found himself lying on his bed. Surprisingly, he didn’t feel any pain, despite remembering how severely his body had suffered during the trial.

The memories immediately came rushing back to him, reminding him of the terrifying pressure he had endured and the moment he had finally reached the twentyfold gravity zone.

As he tried to sit up, he realized that his upper body was bare. Just then, the system’s voice sounded in his mind.

[Relax. You’re fine. Your aunt fed you a Grade Four Healing Spirit Pill.]

"Grade Four?!" Veyron exclaimed in surprise.

He couldn’t believe that his aunt had used something so expensive on him. Grade Four pills were far more costly than Grade Three pills.

Depending on their type and quality, the price of a single Grade Four pill could be enough to purchase ten Grade Three pills.

And healing pills were particularly expensive.

[You’re underestimating your aunt’s love for you. Besides, as a Grand Elder, she must possess considerable wealth, even if she doesn’t flaunt it.]

"Hmm... You’re right. But wasn’t using a Grade Four Healing Spirit Pill a little excessive?" Veyron asked, still feeling surprised by her generosity.

[Excessive? You probably didn’t realize how badly you’d injured yourself because you were too busy forcing yourself to remain standing.]

[Several of your internal organs were damaged, along with your eardrums, vocal cords, and numerous other parts of your body.]

Veyron’s eyes widened.

Now that the system mentioned it, he remembered how his condition had deteriorated during the final stages of the trial. He had struggled to hear, speak, and even keep his vision clear.

At the time, he had been so focused on reaching the end that he hadn’t paid much attention to anything else. Only now did he understand just how badly he had injured himself.

No wonder his aunt had used such an expensive pill to heal him!

"Sigh...I need to apologize to Aunt and Senior Sister. They must have been terribly worried about me," Veyron said with a sigh.

[You definitely should...]

"By the way... where’s Aunt?" Veyron asked, glancing around the room.

[Look at the note on the table.]

Following the system’s suggestion, Veyron turned his attention toward the wooden table beside his bed. A neatly folded note lay on its surface, clearly left there for him.

He reached over, picked it up, and settled back against the headboard before unfolding it and reading its contents.

{My sweet baby...

I had to go out because the Sect Leader called for me. I’m not sure what it’s about, but I’ll be back by morning, so don’t worry. I’ve already called your Senior Sister. She’ll stay with you while I’m gone and take good care of you.

Your loving Aunt.}

Veyron couldn’t help but chuckle softly as he read the affectionate words. Even in a simple note, his aunt’s love for him was evident.

He could almost imagine her writing it with that familiar, caring expression, probably worrying about him despite knowing that his injuries had already been healed.

"Sigh... I know she understands that I’ll recover completely, yet she still treats me like I’m seriously injured. And now she’s even called Senior Sister over to look after me."
