Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game
Chapter 1010 - 525: The Bombshell at the Press Conference
A luxurious business car was parked at the distant street corner, casting a ghostly light under the moonlight. The window slowly rolled down, revealing a man with an unforgettable face—sharp and cold, seemingly tinged with sorrow, like a wounded beast.
Joshua Hughes gazed at the lit window upstairs, where Avery Jane resided. His cold eyes were filled with pain as he glanced at the orange light emanating from the house. He didn’t understand how he could have driven himself to such a difficult position—forcing her into the care of another man for her weakened state. Whether or not Avery would fall for Beckett was irrelevant; it was an undeniable fact that Beckett loved Avery. And he, Joshua, had actually allowed Beckett to take Avery away just like that?
Even if he didn’t want others to notice Avery now, to harm her. Even if he feared that at this stage, Avery would reject him, so he dared not forcibly take her away, lest it affect her mood and disturb her sleep. He wished for her to rest well, to recover properly. Yet all these concessions brought him immense pain.
Avery, you will never know that I’m standing right beneath this building, how I feel right now. How can I bear to let you live under the same roof with another man? To let another man care for you is a feeling you will never comprehend in a lifetime. I despise the traces left by other men in your world, detest you being in another man’s home. I wish to occupy every bit of your space and time, to erase the scent and presence of anyone else so that only I remain. Avery, would you understand? The guilt and remorse towards her rushed in like the coldest wind, inescapable and undeniable, freezing him to the core in its bitter chill.
Don’t fall for Beckett, otherwise, Avery, I will utterly destroy him, just like I’ve already destroyed the Hughes Clan.......

In the biggest conference room of the Hughes Clan, all the well-known media rushed over early today, enclosing the entire meeting area to the brim.
Journalists crowded, armed with cameras and recording devices—the media in full attendance. The leader of the Hughes Clan, known for his iron-fisted and decisive approach over his ten years in office, was rarely seen in public view. Today, he was set to announce what was claimed to be the biggest news in the past decade for the Hughes Clan—a potential earthquake in the business world. All media flocked in, like flies drawn to the scent of blood.
At the entrance of the Hughes Clan Tower, a luxurious sedan came to a steady stop. Another batch of stationed reporters raised their cameras, eager to capture the first glimpse.
The man inside stepped out of the car with long strides, his striking profile emanating allure, his chiseled features resembling a masterpiece crafted by the divine—a testament to creation’s partiality. Many female employees of the Hughes Clan, seeing Joshua Hughes for the first time, could barely restrain their excitement. Yet, as he faced the gaze of the crowd, there was not a trace of expression—his thin lips clenched with indifference as he headed towards the elevator.
In the meeting room, the commotion ceased as the cold and commanding man entered—Joshua Hughes. All eyes fixed on him as the flashlights turned the room into a silver ocean almost blinding to behold. Joshua swept a cold glance, sat down, and addressed the audience. Before him, a microphone awaited his deep, magnetic voice, delivering his words with compelling intensity into everyone’s ears.....
"Today, I will announce a major decision. Due to personal reasons, from today onward, I will no longer serve as the chairman of the Hughes Clan board, and I am resigning from all my roles within the Hughes Clan. From now on, I will no longer have any ties with Hughes Clan’s operations." It had been ten years, an entire decade yearning to fulfill this momentous action—building Hughes Clan to its peak and then demolishing it. This feeling was liberating, bringing a sense of relief. May his father find peace in his heavenly abode.
