Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game
Chapter 1011 - 525: The Bombshell at the Press Conference (Part 2)
After he finished speaking, the entire conference room seemed to explode, filled with shock, disbelief, and questions, along with the constant flashing of cameras.
Another conference room, connected via video, had all the shareholders feeling their blood pressure soaring, barely able to contain their surprise over the sudden press conference.
"How could this happen? Isn’t there still seven days until the meeting to vote? What’s Joshua doing........"
:"What exactly is he up to, just quitting like this.......?"
:"Luis, what’s going on? Do you know? What should we do now......."
Luis watched the man on the big screen, wondering how this could happen. He had wanted to win against him once in his life, and just when he was close to the finish line, his lifelong opponent decided not to compete anymore, ending his ten-year tenure at the Hughes Clan in the most dramatic way possible, putting a full stop to his time there. But standing alone on the track, Luis suddenly didn’t know what to do. Without an opponent, everything seemed to lose its meaning......
:"Mr. Hughes, can you talk about why you’re resigning from the position of Hughes Clan’s CEO at this time? Is there any hidden reason?"
:"Mr. Hughes, does this have anything to do with the shareholders’ meeting in a week?"
:"There’s been rumors circulating outside that Mr. Hughes has always been at odds with your brother. Is it true? Does your departure relate to him?"
:"You’ve been seen frequently with the new model, Miss Megan Evans, who admitted to having a close relationship with you. Will you marry her? Is your resignation related to traveling the world with Miss Evans?"
Julian stood behind Joshua, thinking coldly, what the hell does that have to do with anything? They can ask such low-level questions?
Reporters threw out sharp questions one by one; those people are best at capturing information, and naturally, many are watching Hughes Clan’s every move.
She might also be watching the news? This thought made him restless, unwilling to answer any more questions. He didn’t want to agitate her further; she needs a good mood for rest at this time.
His thin lips once again moved to the microphone, his gaze cold and fierce: "This is all I have to say today. The press conference is hereby concluded." Although he activated all the most renowned media reporters, Joshua Hughes appeared for less than ten minutes before leaving. As he pulled away his chair, you could almost see his eyes cold as ice, with a group of black-suited bodyguards coldly blocking the reporters trying to approach. His tall, strong figure vanished in the conference room.
Ending the press conference, yet finding no peace, Joshua’s office had already gathered more than a dozen shareholders. If it were seven days later, where they jointly voted for Luis to replace Joshua, it wouldn’t be a big deal, but now that Joshua himself doesn’t want to continue, there must be something wrong. Because Joshua has always been a tough character, this time thinking of pulling him down, they actually felt a bit scared, but they hadn’t even taken action before things turned out this way?
:"Joshua, why didn’t you consult us about this? It’s about the entire Hughes Clan?" All of them selected the oldest member of the Hughes Clan to speak, though it somewhat sounded like using seniority to pressure, but who has time to care about that now? What they most want to know is what exactly happened?
:"As you wish, what’s wrong with that?" His voice cut through like a cold light, reflecting on everyone there, exposing those terrifying ambitions. He had given them the best ten years, but these ungrateful people had repeatedly given him trouble over the marriage matters. If it weren’t for these old guys and that woman orchestrating that banquet, Avery never wouldn’t have been sent to Las Vegas, and she wouldn’t have come back, remembered everything under the shock. Thinking of this, thinking of Avery Jane’s determined departure, was like a heavy hammer smashing into Joshua Hughes’ heart. That pain was suffocating......
Outside, the beautiful dawn light streamed through the expansive floor-to-ceiling windows, sketching the man’s sharp silhouette, his cold gaze made others feel a chill in their hearts. Anxiety began to spread all around.
