Chapter 1048: Chapter 543: Is He Pursuing You?
The man’s eyes grew increasingly cold, harboring a deep-seated desire to possess her entirely. Hearing her words made him feel very uncomfortable, extremely uncomfortable. His fingers lightly grazed her wrist, while the neon lights of the street flickered into his eyes like flames, casting an enchanting glow. His thin lips parted slowly as he said, “Avery, after you go back, you can work, but I don’t want to see you getting too close with other men, understand? You can call me overbearing, but that’s exactly how I want to be with you. You have no idea how crazy and uncomfortable I feel when I see you with other men.”
These past couple of days, handling so many things, his state was indeed fatigued. He needed a bit of reassurance to give him some peace of mind. He needed her to say a little something or perhaps promise something; otherwise, he would really go insane.
:”You’re too much, your temper is still the same, isn’t it?” Avery frowned, her tone slightly irritated, “Joshua, you’re utterly unreasonable. Can you stop interfering with my affairs?” He had already grabbed her hand, and she glared at him, pulling back, not knowing what had provoked him this time. Everything had been fine during dinner just now.
:”Get rid of your bodyguards; don’t follow me around like a ghost every day. I’m leaving first thing tomorrow morning; if you keep this up, it’s best we don’t see each other at all.” Avery bit her lip, speaking with restraint.
Upon hearing her say she was leaving tomorrow morning, that they’d best not see each other, his anger broke through his reason and exploded. His complexion began to darken, turning into a frightening shade of iron blue.
:”Do you dare……?” His words carried restrained anger.
:”You, you……” Avery was truly furious: “You’re really insane; I want to get out of the car…….”
Joshua took a deep breath, slowly suppressing the anger surging within his chest, looking at her flushed face, regaining a sliver of sanity. She would never know, she was gradually becoming more charming, almost irresistible to men. Watching as they emerged from the restaurant, so many men had their eyes on her, filling his chest with jealousy and rage on the verge of exploding. He just wanted to be certain she still cared for him somewhat, yet she couldn’t even be bothered to feign politeness.
Joshua’s eyes flashed with intense pain: “Avery, I thought I owed you, and I wanted to make up for it with everything I have. I thought you could finally start accepting me slowly, but it turns out I was wrong. Do you really have no thoughts at all? I’m just an ordinary person who happened to help you in your most critical moment, so you feel obligated to thank me in this way….”
Is it that only he loves so passionately, intoxicated without being able to extricate himself while she hasn’t been moved in the slightest?
This man always manages to stir her into turmoil: “I don’t know……..” How could he think about so many things over just a meal, while she simply wanted to have a meal with him? This is probably the difference between the two.
Stopping at the hotel entrance, the side of his face emitted a faint cold light in the glow of the lights, watching her open the door and run into the hotel as if fleeing for her life, clenching his fists tightly, resisting the urge to grab her to keep her from leaving. Tonight was supposed to be good, but it was he who was too anxious. He just wanted to be more certain of his place in her mind. But how did things end up this way?

At the airport
The expansive airport was always bustling and noisy.
Avery followed Eliza, carrying simple luggage, and walked out, feeling a prickling discomfort at the back of her neck. She wondered why Joshua didn’t take his own plane but instead chose to fly back with her on the same flight.
Beckett stood there from afar, dressed simply and neatly, a white top, straight grey trousers, sleeves rolled up, looking warm and handsome, holding two bouquets of flowers, one of pale purple roses and the other of red tulips. Seeing them come out, his lips curled up into a slight smile, welcoming them.
:”Was everything handled smoothly?” Beckett handed the red tulip bouquet to Eliza and then stood before Avery, handing her the exquisitely packaged purple roses, taking the small travel bag from her hand.
