Women naturally have a sense of attachment to the first man who possesses them, and this feeling is more evident in Avery Jane. Even if time doesn’t take her side, psychologically, he’s definitely Avery’s first choice. Thinking of this, his smile deepened as he gently embraced Avery’s petite body.

“Working so seriously? Do you really want to earn your own living?” Joshua Hughes teased, her small face, perhaps blushing from walking quickly, looked very enticing.

“Is this supposed to be a compliment? Why does it sound so harsh?” Avery couldn’t help but glare at him, “President Hughes, not everyone can be a CEO like you. People like your exploiting class are rare, while people like me are the normal survival phenomenon. What’s wrong with me supporting myself? I didn’t ask you to support me.” Thinking about how his one meal costs as much as her salary for several months, she couldn’t help but complain a bit.

Her furrowed brow and serious demeanor were incredibly cute. Her pale, pure face carried an air of innocence, yet she earnestly tried to maintain a worldly expression.

Joshua laughed, ruffling her hair as his icy gaze inadvertently lingered on the floor where she worked. As she was about to get in the car, he suddenly trapped her between the car and his muscular body, bending down to kiss her flower-like lips.

It was rush hour, crowded with people, and suddenly the surrounding crowd erupted with gasps, restrained screams, and even a couple of whistles…

Avery was stunned, her eyes wide open with her long eyelashes not daring to blink, her pure gaze fixated on the handsome face that was magnified before her. She clearly felt his tongue gently yet dominantly wandering in her mouth.

What was he doing? Kissing her on such a popular street? Her mind lagged in response, hurriedly pushing against his arm: “Joshua Hughes……” The whistles from the sidewalk grew louder as the tall, strong, handsome, cold man and the soft-boned, beautiful pure girl engaged in a scene of invasion and slight resistance, even if it was just a kiss, enough to make viewers’ blood boil.

“Just a little longer… just a bit more……” He slowly tightened his grip on her waist, coaxing her, continuing to explore her sweet little mouth.

He did it deliberately, that tiny gap left by the window was enough to show the intent to let others peek.

He didn’t dare kiss too deeply or for too long, fearing she’d truly get annoyed or even dislike him. Letting her go, he looked at her cherry-red face, her adorable angry and shy expression.

She slipped into the car like a cat with its tail stepped on, and the man followed her in. The car performed a neat drift across the square and sped away, leaving behind a crowd of enthusiastic spectators.

“Are you mad?” Joshua’s long fingers gripped the steering wheel as he reached over with his other hand, holding her soft hand. Since getting in the car, she had kept her head down, her long lashes hiding her emotions.

“How could you do that, there were so many people there.” Her words sounded like a small complaint.

“I get it, a place without people would be okay then?” Teasing her felt good, this moment felt even better, he enjoyed this feeling.

Avery looked up, glaring at him. Having known him for so long, she truly hadn’t known he had such a sense of humor.

“Alright, alright, I was too hasty earlier, I won’t do it again…….” He drove the car toward the restaurant he had reserved.

“Avery, in a couple of days I have a banquet to attend, you should come with me, I need a lady companion.” He always spoke like that, saying “come with me” instead of “come with me, please?” or “can you come with me?” He was so sure she was free all day waiting for his beck and call?

“In a couple of days, I’ll probably be having coffee with my boss on Champs Elysees Avenue, excuse my absence.” Avery tried to break free from his tightly gripping hand, but his strength was simply too great, impossible to break free.

“What did you say?” The temperature in his voice dropped a few degrees, losing the gentle whispers from before, his good temper probably only showed when he wanted to do something with her.

“I said I’m going to Paris for two days, no time to accompany you to any banquet.” Avery muttered, knowing this man’s bad temper would likely never change.
