Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game
Chapter 1063 - 549: I Must Decline
"If you don’t want to play, that’s fine. Let’s settle on two days, Miss Jane. Please book the flights and hotels. I’ll pick you up tomorrow morning, OK?" Beckett Wright noticed that she seemed reluctant to stay longer in Paris, so he wasn’t going to press the matter. He had enough patience to influence her. Just like now, she was already by his side, and he could see her often already. Even if she hinted through words that they could only be friends, he didn’t mind at all. After all, many people evolve from being friends.
"Understood. By the way, how much should I compensate you for that necklace? I feel uneasy because you haven’t accepted it yet." Although the diamond on the necklace wasn’t very large, its exquisite craftsmanship was enough to make people admire it. She believed it had to be quite costly, especially since it was designed by Beckett Wright. She had seen a piece at Grant with similar materials, also another series designed by Beckett Wright, and the price was quite considerable. Not to mention this was a unique piece, not even comparable to limited editions. She thought she really should pay him, although compensating with money seemed crude, there was no other way.
"No need. That necklace is something I created by myself and has nothing to do with Grant. It’s my personal belonging, just lent to the company for display to attract high-end clients. If you really feel uneasy, then promise me not to mention resignation casually this year. You know things become handy with long use; people are the same. You’re managing my studio very well now, and I don’t want to change people so soon." Beckett Wright sipped his coffee. She learned things very quickly; in just a few days, the freshly brewed coffee was already quite presentable. Such stable and comfortable days made one nostalgic.
"I couldn’t afford to compensate, even if I worked for a year for free, right?" Avery Jane also poured herself a cup of coffee. In fact, she preferred drinking tea, but since Beckett Wright liked it, as a staff member, she didn’t have much to say—when in Rome.
Beckett Wright smiled gently and didn’t say more.......

The whole day was quite fulfilling. She booked the plane tickets and hotels, and they shared an omelet rice near the studio. In the afternoon, she started to learn some basic concepts of jewelry design. Beckett Wright mentioned that the best schools are in Milan. If she truly wanted to learn this, he could recommend her to study there.
Soon, it was time to leave work. She tidied her things and adjusted her hair. Dinner together? She didn’t know how she so readily agreed without any hesitation at the time. Thinking about it made her a bit embarrassed.
"Avery Jane, would you like to have dinner together, and maybe buy a few things? I need some gifts for friends in Paris." Beckett Wright watched Avery Jane pack up, her expression rich with thoughts. What was she thinking about?
"No, thanks. I have plans tonight. Do you need me to help you buy anything?" Avery Jane glanced at the clock on the wall. Its clean lines clearly indicated that her work hours were over.
"No problem, I’ll go by myself then." Beckett Wright smiled, watching her hurriedly walk out. He moved to the window and gently opened a slat on the white blinds, soon seeing Avery Jane’s graceful figure walking out of the building with a car parked nearby.
The man was strikingly visible no matter where he stood, dressed in a slim black suit tailored perfectly for this season, with smooth lines. When Avery Jane appeared, he raised his thick lashes, and his deep eyes emitted a peculiar light. His thin lips slowly curled up into a sexy and attractive arc.
She appeared punctually, and as he watched her figure emerge from the building, the softest part of his heart felt like butter melting under broad sunlight.
Even though he still felt uneasy, this was her workplace, and her boss was a man who had already made his feelings quite clear. However, he kept controlling his rising anger. Imagining her making coffee for that man in the studio incited his nerves, causing his temples to throb and ache. But he wasn’t impulsive now; the more he tried to control her, the more intense her reactions became. At this moment, she seemed not to mind their interactions at all.
