Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game
Chapter 1066 - 551: Put Something On—What Are You Doing Like This?
As the first rays of morning light seep into the room, Beckett Wright swiftly gets out of bed, changes into a beige casual outfit, washes up, and drives toward Avery Jane’s apartment. On the way, he packs her a serving of freshly ground soy milk and a box of steamed buns. It seems Avery isn’t fond of airline meals, irrespective of the carrier; she seems to prefer snacks like these.
Driving along, the soy milk and steamed buns are placed on the passenger seat. Maybe tomorrow they can enjoy coffee together along Champs Elysees Avenue. He plans to take Avery to visit museums; she has a fondness for design, and showing her the cultural and artistic essence accumulated over the ages should be helpful to her.
Avery’s apartment isn’t far from where he lives, just a twenty-minute drive. At this time, there shouldn’t be traffic, and Avery is a very punctual person. She should have her luggage ready, waiting for him by now. He just remembered he forgot to buy an extra breakfast; she lives with her cousin. Beckett pats his forehead, feeling dazed...
The elevator jumps one floor at a time, flickers briefly, and stops. They’ve arrived.
The morning light is soft and fresh, evenly bathing the strikingly handsome man. He gazes at the woman asleep in his embrace, the thick lashes casting faint, enchanting shadows. The depth of his eyes has long shed the usual chill and severity, and while looking at the woman asleep in bed, there’s no guard, gentle and relaxing, with emotions shimmering in his pupils, akin to the oldest, sweetest and most mellow wine. A deep gaze almost makes one utterly lost in it.
In the play of light and shadow, his muscular and fluid build possesses lines that can make a woman scream with frenzy. Throughout his life, he has been proud, never easily expressing what he desires, let alone the word love. But for her, he confessed—he said he loves her, he wants to be with her. This gentleness and infatuation have never existed before. His strong arm holds her tightly in his embrace, gripping her slender, soft waist, entwining firmly, binding her delicate body irresistible close to him. Her petite frame almost completely nests in his arms, long locks messily sprawled, their perfect fit makes his breathing grow ragged...
She is the companion he has searched for so long and once believed he would never find, perhaps because he never truly believed in love or in his ability to love. Yet, she appeared before him under the moonlight, walking into his life under the cover of night, turning his world upside down.
His soulful eyes gaze at her like she’s the most precious treasure in the world. Lowering his head, he seeks her lips, gradually kissing them, meticulously outlining the shape. Then, his fiery lips slowly move down, burying in her neck nook, where her skin is sensitive and tender.
His thin lips reluctantly leave her neck, whispering softly near her ear his affection. The morning man’s voice carries a hint of lingering sleepiness, deep and sexy.
Quietly, it’s quiet now, only the sound of her breathing, even. The bed is small, the room is small, without his favored floor-to-ceiling windows, yet he feels relaxed, content. In such a tranquil morning, he can finally hold her peacefully.
Though it’s still early, faint sounds from the apartment garden downstairs can be heard, perhaps children playing, a bit of music, and even barking dogs. She’s sleeping deeply; waking together on the same bed, he realizes how beautiful the morning truly is...
In a dazed state, half-awake, Joshua Hughes smiles gently, turns his face to softly nuzzle her neck, his palm resting on the back of her head, gently rubbing her soft hair. His thin lips barely part, murmuring lowly, "It’s still early, sleep a little longer..."
His voice consistently carries a deep magnetism, soothing repeatedly. She relaxes her body, yet feels overwhelmingly tingly all over, almost melting into a puddle of spring water in his warm embrace...
What’s happening to her, even dreaming about such strange reactions? Avery Jane turns over, lying down to continue sleeping. Perhaps Joshua’s radiant body heat makes her feel warm, unconsciously tossing off the blanket, exposing the graceful pose of a lotus in spring sleep, falling into his scarlet gaze.
