Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game
Chapter 1076 - 555: You Destroyed My Greatest Love (Part 3)
Joshua Hughes’s deep eyes had a murderous intent as thick as ink, beginning to permeate throughout the exquisite studio.
Beckett Wright struggled desperately, already feeling the terrifying suffocation......
His mouth was wide open, but all the air he inhaled was cut off at his throat. He truly witnessed Joshua Hughes’s brutality and bloodlust: "Wouldn’t it be justified even if I killed you?" he roared angrily like a Beast, feeling that the pain in his heart justified killing the hypocritical man before him.
Images of her smile, her tears, all her little gestures flashed through his mind. Every time she looked at him, in her clear eyes slowly appeared compromise. Everything surged toward him like an overwhelming tidal wave.
With his neck tightly gripped, Beckett’s face turned purplish-red as if filled with blood, and his eyeballs protruded outward. Suddenly, Joshua released his grip: "What good will it do to kill you?" In the depths of Joshua’s pupils, light seemed to flicker as he loosened his grip and threw the already limp man onto the floor: "You should live well, see how we love each other, watch as I place the world at her feet, and see for yourself how the word ’consequence’ is written. I want you to be infamous, utterly defeated........" His cold voice was chilling, like a summons from the Inferno, sending shivers down the spine.
No matter how hard he tried, was it still unattainable? All his life he only wanted this, but could he never obtain it?
Joshua Hughes’s words spilled from his thin lips, she didn’t give him any chance because of that night, nor did he change because of it. In that moment, Beckett felt a desperate coldness rise slowly from his feet, flowing through every drop of blood to his heart, then spreading from the heart to every cell in his body, freezing him utterly. Was he really being petty? Was he really so despicable? He sat on the floor helplessly, watching the tall and elegant figure walk out of the studio, becoming a scene in the light and shadow.....
The key gently inserted into the lock, rotated, and opened the door.
The small apartment looked just the same, clean and tidy, the air seemed to carry her scent, a faint, soft fragrance. Joshua Hughes’s tall, slender figure slowly paused at the bedroom door, feeling a slight pang in his heart. He gently pushed the door open; her room had tightly drawn curtains, as if not a single ray of light could penetrate. She used to love sunlight, liked opening windows wide, letting sunlight pierce every corner of the house. As he walked in, his steps were steady and certain, with no hesitation......
She was curled up on the bed, wrapped in a thin blanket, her small body slightly slouched and asleep in bed, her hair disheveled, sprawled across the floral sheets. Deep pain resided in his intense eyes, and Joshua gently walked over, bending down to gaze at her sleeping face. Actually, she wasn’t sleeping soundly, her delicate brows slightly furrowed, one arm extending out from the blanket, her fair hand clenching the blanket, never relaxing.
Her long eyelashes fluttered lightly like butterfly wings, as if sensing someone beside her, she hazily woke up.......
The lighting in the room was very dim, and in that unclear darkness, she saw his figure. Avery Jane blinked lightly twice, thinking she was dreaming, yet he stood at her bedside, and if this were a dream, it was too realistic. He reached out his fingers, gently touching her cheek, and she abruptly awoke.
Joshua Hughes gazed deeply at her, his pupils flickering with charming, fragmented light: "Awake......" His voice was low, carrying a hint of hoarseness, elegant and captivating as a midnight cello.
"Didn’t tell me you were back, didn’t answer calls, won’t see me, Avery Jane, you’re so naughty......" His voice grew even huskier, thick lashes lowered, hiding his emotions, and his robust arms wrapped her whole body, blanket and all, into his embrace.
Avery Jane was shocked, her eyes widened suddenly, it truly was him, how did he get in?
How is he here? These past few days, she even thought of hiding in this tiny room forever, wrapping herself in this blanket, never going out to see anyone, especially not him.
Pain and embarrassment intertwined and crushed her heart, she choked silently, lowering her head: "Joshua Hughes, will you let me go?"
