Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game
Chapter 1075: You Destroyed My Greatest Love (2)
"What did you do to her?" The implication of these words couldn’t be clearer, Joshua Hughes’s heart felt like a bomb had been dropped on it, exploding with a blood-red vision before his eyes, filling his mind with ashes, not a single intact thought remaining.
In his eyes, cold as ice, freezing the blood threads within.
"She got drunk, I took her back to her room, couldn’t hold myself back, I took her..." Beckett Wright murmured, a hint of bitter smile appearing at the corner of his mouth, "I will take responsibility..." It didn’t really matter what he did or didn’t do; what he wanted was merely a chance.
Joshua Hughes’s face turned ashen gray instantly, his mind surged with waves like a tsunami, as if the entire world was about to collapse.
"She fell asleep at that time, knew nothing, whatever you have, come at me, don’t hurt her..." Beckett looked at Joshua’s terrifying demeanor, enough to make one’s heart tremble with fear, not daring to approach.
Don’t hurt her? The person least willing to harm her in the world is him, what right does this man have to say that?
Before he could finish his sentence, he heard a loud "bang," his slender fingers had already grabbed the large pen holder on his design table in the blink of an eye and smashed it towards Beckett’s head with a forceful blow, knocking him to the ground. The pen holder shattered, thick blood slowly flowed from his black hair, vividly crimson and bloody.
"Do you know what truly harms her? What the hell do you know?" How could he be stupid enough to let her go on a business trip to Paris; he clearly knew this man liked Avery Jane, he clearly knew, but shut his eyes, overwhelmed by the pain and the overwhelming despair pouring in, his shoulders slightly trembling.
Did she think he would despise her? Did she think he was that kind of man? Is that how she saw him?
In these few days, how did she get through it? With what kind of mood did she send him messages?
The tightly stretched string in his heart suddenly snapped; she had clearly accepted him, even if she hadn’t expressed it, he knew she was ready to open her heart to accept him. She was such a delicate and sensitive woman, but the unfortunate events kept happening to her. Since the day she lost her memory, when he understood his feelings, from then on, he had sworn to protect her well, love her, never let her get hurt again. The hardships she had suffered, he wanted to use his lifetime to make up for them, but in these few days, everything changed...
"What do you know? You don’t understand her at all, doing such a thing, it’s not that I can’t accept her, but she will abandon herself, do you understand?" The intense pain almost drowned him, yet it couldn’t change the fact that another man had left a mark on her.
And this fact, Avery Jane herself would be unable to bear and collapse.
Joshua Hughes’s hoarse voice, filled with intense heartache, scattered throughout the air, Beckett Wright’s face pale, allowing the bright red blood to slowly streak down his face.
The wound on his head was nothing compared to the pain caused by Joshua’s words, had he forced her to abandon herself? Had he driven her to the brink? Beckett suppressed the tumultuous emotions, his thin lips couldn’t utter a single word, Avery wouldn’t call, wouldn’t see him, even shared a flight back occasionally, but every exchanged glance was filled with indifference and coldness, this was the best answer; she wouldn’t give him any chance.
The man’s eyes, with blood threads congealed, the whole person akin to a trapped beast. Joshua Hughes suppressed the all-consuming fury in his heart, the thin lips releasing a hoarse voice, "If you truly love her, how could you not understand her? By doing this, you’ve trapped her life in darkness. I truly underestimated you, Beckett, though I disliked you, at least before this incident, I considered you somewhat human..." His words were gritted with teeth, carrying a hatred that could destroy everything. His chest was filled with pain and despair.
"What should I do to you? What wouldn’t be too much? You’ve destroyed Avery Jane, destroyed my greatest love..." This sentence was almost trembling, a low roar like an angry Beast. The sharply defined face was a sheet of white.
His strength was great, when the pen holder crashed down, he felt it almost might break a hole in his skull, and yet that man slowly approached, squatted down, a large hand fiercely gripping his throat, seemingly cutting off his breath immediately, the eyes cold with hatred watched the face beneath the hand slowly turn purplish-red as it twisted rapidly.
