Chapter 260 - 159: A Boss with an Ultra-High Drop Rate and Consistent Gold Drops

Chapter 260: Chapter 159: A Boss with an Ultra-High Drop Rate and Consistent Gold Drops

Everyone was overjoyed, knowing they had finally caught the creature.

But just then, a terrifyingly immense force came from the other end of the chain, dragging Hei and his horse forward.

Hellish Roar grabbed the chain, his thick legs digging firmly into the ground. Gritting his teeth, he forcefully dragged it back.

Sensing the threat, the giant worm began to struggle even more frantically.

The soil in that area churned violently. The force was so immense that not even the two great warriors were a match for it, and they were dragged forward.

Shen Xing frowned, just about to call for reinforcements.

"ROAR!!"

This time, Hellish Roar truly roared.

The bat-like wings on his back fully unfurled as the black flames covering his body erupted, and veins bulged all over him!

Under his monstrous strength, the ground began to bulge, as if some behemoth was being dragged out from underground.

CRASH!

The Dragon Blood Giant Worm was forcefully yanked out, and its massive body smashed heavily onto the ground.

Without needing an order from Shen Xing, Reina and the Inferior Demon Legion were already poised to strike. Hundreds of basin-sized Fireballs rained down like a meteor shower!

"BOOM!!!"

The blaze lit up the sky, illuminating the entire battlefield as if it were day.

The piercing shriek came to an abrupt halt as the giant worm’s massive body collapsed.

Once its Soul Fire was extinguished, the flesh on its body rapidly receded, and its massive skeleton scattered across the ground once more.

Then, in a short time, it completely turned to dust, leaving behind only a few sparkling treasures.

[Successfully killed the Dragon Blood Burrowing Worm. Unsealing Progress: 1/5]

...

"CRACK!"

A crisp crack echoed from the center of the Dragon Tomb.

A crack appeared on the surface of the massive tombstone, running from top to bottom.

Shen Xing, however, couldn’t be bothered with the tombstone. His eyes were fixed on the loot dropped by the giant worm.

There, besides a dazzling Soul, lay a green orb and a pitch-black scythe.

He immediately had Fried Chicken fly over. With a wave of his hand, he collected all the loot into his inventory.

[Obtained: Reaper’s Scythe (Gold)]

[Obtained: Dragon Blood Burrowing Worm’s Leader Soul (Tier Three) x1]

[Obtained: Advancement Material · Giant Worm’s Core (Tier Three)]

[Obtained: Large Soul Stone x15]

...

"!!!"

Shen Xing’s eyes widened.

’Holy cow. Not only did it drop a Tier Three Leader Soul, but also a Tier Three Advancement Material!’

’Those two items alone are worth over 150 million.’

’And that’s not even counting the Gold-rarity weapon and a whopping 15 Large Soul Stones.’

"As expected of a Boss. The drop rate is insane."

Shen Xing sighed softly. This trip was definitely worth it.

He didn’t inspect the rewards immediately. Instead, he gave an order, "Go to the main battlefield. Help Blood Roar and the others clear out the remaining monsters."

"Yes, Lord!"

With these great warriors and the Inferior Demon Legion joining the fray, the battle became a complete steamroll.

Large numbers of Dragon Tomb Watchers were slain, leaving the ground littered with Soul Stones and Soul Fragments.

Twenty minutes later, Blood Roar cut down the last Dragon Tomb Watcher Priest with a single swing of his sword, bringing the battle to a close.

As far as the eye could see, the ground was littered with the corpses of Half-Dragons. But as a light breeze swept through, they all turned to ash and vanished.

These Dragon Tomb Watchers had been dead for many years. It was merely a special power within the Dragon Tomb that allowed them to retain a sliver of life and instinct.

Shen Xing took a deep breath and ordered, "All units, sweep the battlefield!"

The remaining units immediately sprang into action.

Since they had killed so many monsters, sweeping the battlefield took over ten minutes.

Blood Roar gathered all the loot and presented it to his Lord.

...

"This haul... it’s insane."

Shen Xing murmured, unable to stop a smile from forming.

’All told, they’d killed several thousand Dragon Tomb Watchers, which had dropped tens of thousands of Soul Stones.’

’Counting the Soul Fragments, that added up to over a hundred complete Souls.’

’And this was only the first seal.’

’If they cleared out the entire Dragon Tomb, they were guaranteed to get a six-figure number of Soul Stones alone!’

’Even without the reward promised by the Black Dragon Monarch, these resources alone made the whole endeavor worthwhile.’

"Wanyin, let’s wait until the mission is over to divide up these resources," Shen Xing suggested.

"Sure, that’s fine with me." The girl in the white dress smiled, seemingly unconcerned.

Shen Xing nodded and then took stock of their losses.

In this major battle, between his own forces and Xia Wanyin’s, they had lost nearly two hundred units in total.

The cannon fodder Beastmen took the most losses, with over a hundred of them perishing.

Over twenty Skeleton Archers had been obliterated, four Hellfires were lost, and seven Inferior Demons had been killed by the Dragon Blood Giant Worm.

The other losses were manageable, but losing those last two types of units stung a little.

After all, those were ace units that Grand Lord Shen had spent considerable resources to cultivate.

Xia Wanyin had also lost over twenty of her Light Elves.

But compared to the haul, these losses were negligible.

"Move out. On to the next target."

Shen Xing commanded in a deep voice, and the remaining units immediately fell into formation and advanced.

Flushed with victory, they were in high spirits, each marching with an arrogant swagger, their fighting spirit soaring.

While on the march, Shen Xing took a moment to inspect the loot dropped by the Dragon Blood Giant Worm.
