"And third, I need to make sure they don’t carry or transmit some kind of virus. Only after I’m certain they’re safe will I consider opening the breeding centre. So, for now, the thirty thousand Merit Points will remain untouched."

The farming spirit stared at her for a long moment. After a while, he gave a faint snort before disappearing.

Although he hadn’t openly admitted that he agreed with her, his decision to stop arguing and leave was enough for Ni Mengxue to understand.

Ni Mengxue looked at the system interface again.

She clicked on the space assimilation button, and ten thousand merit points vanished just like that.

Ni Mengxue couldn’t help feeling a little heartbroken. She raised a hand and gently patted her chest.

"It’s all right. You will earn all of it back soon."

She then scrolled through the system interface and selected the farmland option.

[Farmland: 10,000 Merit Points.]

She confirmed the purchase.

[Farmland unlocked.]

A smile finally appeared on Ni Mengxue’s face.

Now she could purchase farmland using the system points and eventually place it in the real world, allowing her to establish a proper agricultural industry.

However, she couldn’t do that immediately.

The sudden appearance of a large area of fertile farmland after her arrival would be far too suspicious.

For now, she had two major problems to solve.

The first was the upcoming heat wave.

She would have to go into seclusion and manufacture the equipment she had mentioned earlier, including solar panels, cooling equipment, temperature-regulating clothing, and other necessities.

The second problem was even more urgent.

She needed to create employment for the thousand people she had brought into Fair Shallow Land.

Sooner or later, they would start thinking about how to make a living.

Surely, not everyone could become a hunter.

As for the market, although it looked professional and functional, Fair Shallow Land wasn’t supposed to remain a lawless settlement where people merely struggled to survive.

’I’ll have to restructure the entire place.’

Ni Mengxue sighed and rubbed her stomach.

Thinking about the system’s discount wheel made her feel another headache coming on.

For the past few days, it had constantly given her strange missions.

Some required her to sleep with Ji Henghua, some involved Bo Xinli or Meng Xiaoni, while others merely asked her to hold hands or kiss them.

The missions were becoming increasingly interesting. Unfortunately, none of those three husbands were currently beside her.

Just thinking about it made Ni Mengxue feel strangely dejected.

’This system is definitely targeting me.’

The problem was that she couldn’t prove it. Her thoughts soon drifted toward Meng Xiaoni.

’I wonder how he’s doing at Burning Star Base.’

.................................

At that moment, Meng Xiaoni was sitting in front of his parents.

They were currently staying in a bright, comfortable living room furnished entirely with sturdy wooden furniture.

The polished wood had a warm brown tone, and everything looked new and well maintained.

A faint fragrance of roasted potato drifted through the room. Someone was cooking in the kitchen.

Before leaving, Ni Mengxue had secretly left enough zombie crystals for Meng Xiaoni’s family to rent a villa, hire a cook, and purchase a large amount of food.

Meng Tan had been the one to receive everything.

Meng Xiaoni hadn’t even known how much she had done for his family.

After learning about it, however, he didn’t say anything.

At present, Meng Tan, her husband, and Meng Xiaoni’s sibling were all sitting together.

Meng Xiaoni looked at them seriously. "I have finally located the King’s girlfriend."

Meng Tan’s eyes immediately lit up. She clapped her hands and stood. "Then what are we waiting for? Let’s go!"

Meng Xiaoni shook his head. He glanced around as if worried that someone might overhear them.

However, because his expression remained completely emotionless, his serious behaviour looked strangely comical.

The entire Meng family burst into laughter.

Meng Xiaoni remained expressionless. "I have decided to meet her near the eastern patrol team at ten tonight."

He paused, his hand touching his wrist subconsciously.

"However, I’m worried that before I could arrive there, my health might deteriorate."

Meng Tan’s expression immediately became worried. "Don’t worry. We’ll take care of your health. At worst, we can just return."

Meng Xiaoni gave a faint nod.

After a moment of silence, he said, "I also have some projects I’m working on. I’ll take my leave for now."

With that, he stood up and walked toward his laboratory.

It was a small room with barely any equipment inside, but it contained everything he needed to work on the machine he was currently developing.

Meng Tan watched her son leave. Then she suddenly thought of something.

She took out a bag that Ni Mengxue had given her and gently touched it, anticipation flashing through her eyes.

Meanwhile, a pair of eyes had been watching the entire scene from the shadows.

The figure remained there for several seconds.

Only after confirming that the family wasn’t going to discuss anything else did the shadow silently leave.

......................................

Soon, the figure appeared outside a luxurious villa.

It was located in the same general area as Meng Xiaoni’s family’s residence, surrounded by several other small villas.

The figure quickly entered the villa and knelt in the living room.

Unlike the brightly lit room of Meng Xiaoni’s family, this living room was dim.

A large semicircular sofa faced an empty wooden wall.

The polished wood and sophisticated interior design suggested that the villa had been constructed in the early post-apocalyptic period, when such materials had still been relatively abundant.

A deep voice echoed through the room. "What is the plan?"

A figure was sitting on the sofa.

The kneeling man lowered his head. He was dressed completely in black. "Zoroko greets His Majesty."

"Rise. Begin."

Zoroko immediately reported, "Meng Xiaoni plans to meet the King’s girlfriend tonight at ten."

Mo Beichan let out a low laugh. His expression remained calm, making it difficult to tell how irritated he actually was.

His fingers rubbed together slowly. "Do one thing for me."

He gave Zoroko a series of instructions. After hearing them, Zoroko immediately bowed. "Yes, Your Majesty."

Mo Beichan finally stood. He let out a slow breath.
