The Great Master’s voice remained calm.

“When that happens, you’ll beg her to spare your life. You might even regret betraying your best friend for a woman like her.”

Mo Beichan’s eyes gradually turned red. “Impossible! My Yao’er isn’t like that.”

He raised his voice. “And I would never regret choosing my wife!”

The Great Master laughed.

“Do you know what’s even more amusing? You’ll live long enough to witness the person you betrayed reaching heights you could never have imagined.”

Mo Beichan froze.

“Although I can’t read that man’s fortune directly, I can tell that he’s destined to become a phoenix among sparrows. He’ll rise to a position of great authority, command thousands of soldiers, and eventually become a general whose name will be remembered in history.”

The Great Master smiled faintly.

“Even your former best friend’s current wife is destined to become an extraordinary figure.”

He paused before delivering another blow.

“As for your own wife, there’s a high possibility that she’ll die at the hands of your best friend’s wife.”

Mo Beichan trembled, the hand holding the mirror tightened.

Although the air conditioner wasn’t running, he suddenly felt an icy chill spread throughout his body. “Impossible!”

He clenched his fists. “There must be some way to change this fate!”

His breathing became uneven.

“Burning Star Base is far more advanced than most other bases. How could something like that possibly happen?”

In Mo Beichan’s opinion, Su Yao could only be killed if Burning Star Base itself collapsed.

As long as she remained the base leader, she would have countless guards, resources, and powerful ability users protecting her.

How could Ni Mengxue possibly reach her?

The Great Master looked at him calmly. “The beginning of the disaster will be connected to your wife’s latest research project.”

Mo Beichan frowned and, after a quick thought, asked. “The electronic fence?”

“Exactly.” The Great Master nodded. “A serious mistake will occur during its development. Your wife will personally interfere with the project, believing she can resolve the problem. Unfortunately, her intervention will only make things worse.”

His expression turned solemn. “The resulting disaster will claim more than a thousand lives.”

Mo Beichan’s face paled.

“Afterward, the victims’ families and other residents will demand justice. Your wife will attempt to suppress the protests rather than admit responsibility. Although she may succeed temporarily, resentment will continue growing among the people.”

The Great Master continued,

“Eventually, that resentment will give rise to an organization known as the Black Rebel Army. The army will gradually expand, attracting people who have suffered under Burning Star Base’s leadership. And eventually, it will come under the influence of your former best friend’s wife.”

Mo Beichan’s pupils contracted.

“She’ll guide the rebellion from the shadows and ensure that Burning Star Base collapses.”

The Great Master leaned forward slightly.

“When the Black Rebel Army finally attacks, Su Yao and her husbands will become their primary targets. By then, several of her other husbands will have already lost their careers and influence because…”

The Great Master suddenly stopped speaking.

He closed his eyes and raised a hand, pressing his fingers together as though calculating something.

For several seconds, he remained completely still. Then his expression changed.

He coughed, and a thin streak of blood appeared at the corner of his mouth. The Great Master wiped it away.

When he opened his eyes again, a strange smile appeared on his face.

“I won’t continue unless you transfer another twenty years of your lifespan to me.”

Mo Beichan immediately shouted, “Impossible! I would never agree to that!”

The Great Master chuckled. “Then we can end our conversation here.”

He leaned back comfortably. “However, you still haven’t learned how to avoid your own death. If I stop speaking now, you’ll be the one who suffers.”

Mo Beichan fell silent. After a long moment, he lowered his gaze.

“Can I sacrifice someone else’s lifespan instead?”

The Great Master shook his head.

“The secrets of heaven cannot be revealed without paying a price. Every additional reading requires a sacrifice of lifespan. If you want me to reveal your fate, you’ll have to pay with your own years.”

Mo Beichan clenched his fists. He desperately wanted to refuse.

However, the thought of dying at Su Yao’s hands terrified him.

After struggling with the decision for some time, he finally gritted his teeth. “Fine. I agree.”

The Great Master smiled.

Once the payment was accepted, their conversation resumed. They continued speaking for nearly two hours.

By the time the connection finally ended, Mo Beichan’s expression had become extremely complicated.

He sat motionlessly, staring at the now-dark mirror.

For the first time in years, he seriously began reconsidering several of his decisions.

…………………………..

Meanwhile, Meng Xiaoni and Lance returned to the villa.

Meng Xiaoni immediately began packing his belongings.

He didn’t have much to take. Most of his possessions consisted of research materials, important documents, and a few pieces of specialized equipment.

After securing everything, he turned toward Lance.

“Let’s leave Burning Star Base together and head toward Fair Shallow Land.”

Lance nodded without hesitation. That had been their original plan. “I’ll return to my villa and collect my things.”

With that, he hurried away. However, the moment he reached his residence, he noticed something was wrong.

Several guards were standing near the entrance. And in the middle of them was Jiang Nuannuan.

Two guards were holding her arms, preventing her from leaving.

Lance’s expression immediately changed.

It turned out that although Zero had been forced to abandon Mo Beichan’s villa, he hadn’t completely forgotten his responsibilities.

Before disappearing, he had managed to inform the guards about Lance’s suspicious activities.

As a result, they had come to investigate. Lance immediately stepped forward. “What do you think you’re doing?”

His voice was filled with anger. “Don’t you dare act so lawlessly! I have Madam Su’s backing!”

Hesitation flickered across the guard’s face.

Su Yao was the leader of Burning Star Base, and offending someone under her protection could have serious consequences.

However, their captain wasn’t so easily intimidated.

The man, Leng Haochu, stepped forward and looked at Lance coldly.

“Really? Where’s your proof? Without evidence, you’d better stop making such claims. Falsely using Madam Su’s name is a serious offense.”
