Chapter 916: Chapter 328: Rewarding Mercedes-Benz Group with 15% Equity (Part 2)

Zhao Chunxue came back from washing up and saw the message from her dad, pouting in resignation.

After lunch, Zhao Chunxue added Yang Chen as a WeChat friend.

"Smelly brother, it’s Zhao Chunxue. Please accept."

A few seconds later, Zhao Chunxue received a notification of friend request rejection.

"I said we’ll add each other again if fate allows it."

Zhao Chunxue was stunned, thinking that he was quite arrogant for a delivery guy, rejecting a friend request from someone as beautiful and wealthy as her!

"If fate allows it, if fate allows it... How much fate is there really!" Zhao Chunxue mumbled softly.

After a while, Zhao Chunxue received a call from her manager.

Manager: "Hey, Xiaoxue, there’s a gig. From 9 AM to 4 PM, representing Mercedes, 3000 yuan a day. Interested?"

Zhao Chunxue: "Mercedes? Of course, I’ll do it! When?"

Manager: "Sunday. Make sure to get yourself in good shape these days, eat less and drink less water the day before, so nothing goes wrong. If it’s screwed up, not only will you not be able to survive, our company won’t either. I was thinking of giving it to a professional model, but after considering, your vibe matches the brand better."

Zhao Chunxue: "Hehe... Thank you, Sister Liu. I’ll treat you to hot pot later."

Manager: "Haha... You all working part-time while studying isn’t easy. No need to treat me to hot pot, just pull off the job well. Alright, hanging up now, I have other things to do. Be professional and get in the zone."

Zhao Chunxue: "Got it. Don’t worry, Sister Liu, I promise I won’t embarrass you."

After hanging up, Zhao Chunxue quickly stood in front of the mirror to check herself out, still felt unsatisfied, packed up, and headed to the gym.

Around five thirty in the evening, Yang Chen picked up a female passenger going to a village in the city.

The female passenger was quite enthusiastic, offering Yang Chen a bag of milk as soon as she got in the car.

It rare to come across such an enthusiastic passenger, Yang Chen’s mood lifted as well.

"Miss, thanks, just leave it there. I’ll have it after I drop you off." Yang Chen replied with a smile.

Female Passenger: "Hey there, how much can you earn a month driving for ride-hailing services? A colleague’s family introduced her to a driver, and he said he can make over ten thousand yuan a month. Is that true?"

A monthly income of over ten thousand yuan in Hai City isn’t particularly impressive, but it’s still better than most, especially compared to those factory workers who don’t even make that working twelve hours a day.

Adhering to the principle of helping one of his own, Yang Chen quickly replied, "If you’re a bit diligent, you can indeed earn over ten thousand yuan a month. Nationwide, this income surpasses 80% of people."

Female Passenger: "Ah? Is that so amazing? But how come it feels like over ten thousand a month is barely enough? Like, if I want to buy a bag, I have to save for a long time."

Yang Chen: "Our country has a large population, even the remaining 20% of the wealthy accounts for 300 million people. Luxury brands and such are prepared for those kinds of people. Ordinary people will indeed find it tough if they want to buy them. I think consumption should be tied to personal income level. You shouldn’t want something just because it looks good. Human desire is endless, even if you were the president, you might want to dominate the world. If you do manage to dominate the world, you might still want to reach for the universe. Giving into desire means living in pain."

Female Passenger: "That makes sense. When I was young, we were poor. In middle school boarding, my daily allowance was barely over ten yuan. I used to think if I ever had over a hundred a day, I could buy whatever I want. Now, I can ensure over a hundred a day for myself, but I want bags, cosmetics, and houses, even cars. You’re right, human desire is limitless, following it only leads to a life of dissatisfaction and distress."

After so much time driving, it’s rare for Yang Chen to have such a heartfelt conversation with a passenger.

Yang Chen happily chatted with the female passenger until they reached the destination.

"Miss, we’re at your location. Do you want to get off here?" Yang Chen asked.

Female Passenger: "Yes, here’s fine. Thank you so much. Riding with you was truly delightful, I hope to do it again."

Yang Chen: "Haha... It was a pleasure to have you in my car. Don’t forget any of your stuff, hopefully, I can pick you up again next time."

The female passenger nodded with a smile and got off.

At this time, Yang Chen saw a familiar face squatting by the roadside, fellow ride-hailing driver Chen He.

Judging by Chen He’s appearance, he seemed like he was crying. Yang Chen found a place to park and ran over to see what was wrong.

As the president of Bibi Driver’s Union, Yang Chen had the responsibility and duty to look after the platform’s driver brothers.

"Chen He, what’s wrong? Why squatting here crying? Did a customer bully you?" Yang Chen asked.

Chen He looked up and seeing that it was Yang Chen, immediately turned his head to wipe away tears.

"Damn, you look like you’ve been seriously wronged. Tell me, what happened? The brothers will stand by you." Yang Chen squatted down beside him and said.

Chen He adjusted his emotions and said, "See that girl standing over there?"

Yang Chen nodded, "Yes, I see her."

Chen He: "Back in June, I went home for a blind date. She was my date. We chatted on WeChat for over three months, I thought she was great and proposed to her. You know, the bride price is high back in my hometown, but I didn’t expect her to ask for a bridal price of 500,000 yuan, not a penny less. How could I, a ride-hailing driver, have 500,000 yuan for a bridal price, so I gave up. I didn’t expect to see her here negotiating with a customer today, for... a full set of service for just 500! Wuuu..."
