Celestial Beast Taming
Chapter 469 - 267: The Cangluo Scale Snake’s Bloodline Evolution
Chapter 469: Chapter 267: The Cangluo Scale Snake’s Bloodline Evolution
Zhong Yi suddenly felt a sense of drowsiness.
This meant it was no longer suitable for Zhong Yi to remain on the Virtual Source Network.
Without further ado, Zhong Yi stuffed the Soul Taming Seed into the Cangluo Scale Snake’s mouth.
Zhong Yi had intentionally used the Soul-Controlling Flower to channel the Soul Taming Seed’s energy to suppress the most concentrated Dragon Species Guardian Beast bloodline within the Cangluo Scale Snake.
He used the energy from the Soul Taming Seed to focus on enhancing the Cangluo Scale Snake’s inherent Snake Bloodline.
Zhong Yi had originally thought that suppressing the Dragon Bloodline within the Cangluo Scale Snake would consume a portion of the Soul Taming Seed’s energy.
But to his surprise, he found that the Soul-Controlling Flower didn’t even need to proactively intervene using the Soul Taming Seed.
The Snake Bloodline within the Cangluo Scale Snake was actually suppressing the Dragon Bloodline on its own.
It began absorbing the energy from the Soul Taming Seed at an extremely rapid pace.
This development indicated that for a Guardian Beast like the Cangluo Scale Snake,
evolving in the direction of a snake-type Guardian Beast held more potential than activating its Dragon Bloodline to transform into a flood dragon and then a true dragon.
Time passed, second by second.
Although the Cangluo Scale Snake’s body size didn’t change much,
the scales covering its entire body seemed to transform into translucent, blue-green tourmaline.
The main body of each scale was an electric blue,
but the tips were tinged with a lake-green hue, even more crystalline than the blue.
After its bloodline evolution, the Cangluo Scale Snake’s body had actually shrunk quite a bit.
It became a little creature just one and a half meters long.
The newly evolved Cangluo Scale Snake coiled around Zhong Yi’s wrist.
It affectionately rubbed its head against his forearm while its tail hooked around his index finger.
On Zhong Yi’s wrist, the Cangluo Scale Snake looked like an ornate, jewel-encrusted piece of jewelry.
Zhong Yi used All Things Exploration to inspect the bloodline-evolved Cangluo Scale Snake.
Upon inspection, Zhong Yi discovered that the Cangluo Scale Snake had evolved into a creature called a Spiritual Cang Law Snake.
This Spiritual Cang Law Snake was a Fantasy Tier, Platinum Quality creature.
Aside from its Basic Skill, Cangluo Condensation, its other Skills and Exclusive Traits were all unsuitable for combat.
They were all functional, supportive Abilities.
Zhong Yi wasn’t particularly impressed with this Spiritual Cang Law Snake’s Skills and Exclusive Traits.
However, he still valued the Spiritual Cang Law Snake immensely.
This was because the Law Snake was an exceptionally special bloodline among snake-type Guardian Beasts.
Creatures with the Law Snake bloodline could evolve into Soaring Snakes capable of flying through the skies.
They might even awaken the legendary Lingwa bloodline, which only Law Snakes had a chance of awakening.
Once the Lingwa bloodline was awakened, the Spiritual Cang Law Snake would transform into a half-human, half-snake creature.
At that point, all of the Spiritual Cang Law Snake’s Skills and Exclusive Traits, aside from its Basic Skills, would very likely be reshaped.
For now, Zhong Yi could only use the Spiritual Cang Law Snake as a Production-type Guardian Beast.
But this Spiritual Cang Law Snake had immense potential for future development.
Now that he had completed the Creator’s examination, Zhong Yi prepared to use the Realm Passage Token to leave the Ruins World.
Taking the emerald-green envelope containing the exam questions and the Spiritual Cang Law Snake he had enhanced, he would go find the Creator serving as the examiner for his evaluation.
Once he obtained his status as a Creator, Zhong Yi could leave the Virtual Source Network.
Because he had used the Realm Passage Token twice in a row, after leaving the Virtual Source Network this time, Zhong Yi would have to sleep for at least a full day in the real world to recover his depleted Soul Power.
In the proctor area for the Creator examinations.
A skinny, rather ugly old man was stroking a purplish-red Crystal Stone.
As the old man stroked it, low-frequency bestial roars could be faintly heard from within the Crystal Stone.
The five other Creators serving as proctors beside him occasionally glanced at the old man.
Sensing the gloomy atmosphere emanating from him, they didn’t know what to say.
These five Creators all wore badges somewhat shaped like the sun.
Their Sun Badges were engraved with a single Sun Dial, indicating that all five were Low Tier Creators.
The badge worn by the old man, however, was not in the shape of a sun.
It was his own likeness, with two sun symbols engraved on the badge.
Below the image was an inscription for the Wanyu Creation Company.
Being able to wear a badge of this level meant the old man was undoubtedly a Creator of the Second Level or higher.
Only Second Level Creators could design a personal badge with their own likeness at the Creator’s Guild.
The more He Yan caressed the Desolate Beast Blood Crystal he had been polishing for thousands of years, the more stifled he felt.
’I’m one of the eight grand proctors of the Wanyu Creation Company. Yet in the exams I preside over and supervise, very few people ever manage to become Creators. In the last five years, 47 people have been certified as Creators. But in the exams I’ve proctored, not a single one has passed.’
The more powerful a person was, the more they cared about so-called luck.
And this was like proof of He Yan’s terrible luck.
Within Wanyu Creation, many people gossiped about this behind his back.
’The other seven grand proctors who are on better terms with me call me a jinx. Those on bad terms with me even call me a harbinger of misfortune or a walking disaster behind my back. If I were really a harbinger of misfortune, then with me in the Wanyu Creation Company, how could it possibly stand on par with the Four Major Companies founded by the Nine Great Ecosystems? If I were truly such a jinx, I would have long since swept the tongues right out of the mouths of everyone who badmouths me.’
One of the Low Level Creators, who was often able to converse with He Yan and had even attended several of the gatherings he organized, spoke in a low voice:
"My lord, this examination has only been going on for a little over ten hours."
"Usually, it takes at least two days before anyone can complete the exam questions."
"You’re planning to participate in the Creation Martial Arts Demonstration at the gathering. Why don’t you leave early to prepare?"
"Otherwise, by the time this examination is over, the gathering will likely have already started."
He Yan was no ordinary Second Level Creator; he was a Second Level Middle Tier Creator.
Don’t be fooled by the fact that Middle Tier and Low Tier were only one small sub-level apart.
The gap between the two was like a chasm.
Out of 100 Second Level Low Tier Creators, it was considered a stroke of immense fortune if even three or four managed to advance to Second Level Middle Tier in their entire lifetime.
Under normal circumstances, it was likely that out of 100 Second Level Low Tier Creators, not a single one would ever become a Second Level Middle Tier Creator.
Several of these First Level Creators had long wanted to become He Yan’s disciples.
Although they all hailed from different worlds,
a profound master-disciple relationship still existed among Creators on the Virtual Source Network.
Sometimes, the one becoming the disciple would even have to make a Soul Curse Oath.
The Soul Curse Oath was a vow that only experts at the Divine Fire Tier could make.
It required using one’s own Divine Fire as a catalyst; if the oath was broken, the Divine Fire would be extinguished.
Once the Divine Fire was ignited, it would refine Rule Authority, condensing it into a Divine Format that held supreme authority.
If the Divine Fire were extinguished, the Rule Authority it had refined would collapse.
The unformed Divine Format would also be annihilated.
Breaking a Soul Curse Oath was not only equivalent to severing one’s own future path but also cutting off half of one’s lifeline.
For any creature to reach the Divine Fire Tier,
they would have to endure countless years of tempering and numerous life-or-death trials.
No one would joke about the Divine Fire they had struggled so hard to ignite.
This First Level Low Tier Creator, who was so eagerly trying to curry favor with He Yan, was named Miao Kang.
Miao Kang had bluntly expressed his willingness to use his Divine Fire as a catalyst to make a Soul Curse Oath to He Yan upon becoming his disciple.
He promised to treat He Yan with the same respect as his own parents, but He Yan had never shown any intention of taking a disciple.
However, Miao Kang was not discouraged. As the saying goes, sincerity can move mountains.
’As long as He Yan doesn’t find me annoying and explicitly reject me, I still have a chance to become his disciple.’
Within the Wanyu Creation Company, the relationships between Creators were generally friendly.
Miao Kang wasn’t limited to interacting with just He Yan, a Second Level Middle Tier Creator.
The reason he was so insistent on becoming He Yan’s disciple was because of the way He Yan utilized his Creator methods.
