CEO's Reborn Wife
Chapter 2641 - 2649: Who Would Laugh at You
"You old guy, don’t laugh. Why don’t I have one? Shouldn’t you be the one I’m asking? Why does my brother have a wife and I don’t? Isn’t it because you’re biased? How old was my brother when you arranged for Jane to be his wife? I’m this age now, so would you please arrange a wife for me? I’m not asking for much, just find someone like Jane."
After Peter Gingery finished speaking, Old Master Black raised his hand as if to hit him.
"You brat, go back to the base. The meal Jane prepared won’t be for you!" Old Master Black scolded. "If I arrange for a girl to marry you, it would be ruining her life. I won’t do something against my conscience like that."
With this line, Peter Gingery was clearly bested.
Peter Gingery backed down, afraid that if he talked back any further, he really wouldn’t get any of the food on the table, so he sensibly kept quiet.
The dining table at the Black Family home was always this lively.
Unlike the quiet Sampton Family before it dispersed, Julie Sampson kept her head down while eating, always wearing a smile on her face.
Back then, she truly envied, deeply envied, the special treatment Jane Sampson received at the Black Family. She envied how Jane could sit in the Black Residence and be favored by all the elders.
Now, Julie Sampson understood that it was because Jane Sampson deserved it.
At the dinner table, Jane took care of everyone’s tastes, especially Old Master Black, who had several dishes in front of him that he particularly enjoyed.
Old Master Black liked strong flavors, but since he was older, it couldn’t be too greasy. Jane Sampson put a lot of thought into making these dishes.
Julie Sampson thought, if it were her, she definitely couldn’t have been as attentively detailed as Jane Sampson.
After dinner, Julie Sampson and Bright Sampton left the Black Residence, while Jane Sampson excitedly dragged James Black upstairs to open the gifts Julie had brought.
Julie Sampson had brought quite a few things: baby clothes, bottles, toys, and some jewelry that both boys and girls could wear.
Among these, Jane Sampson liked the gold peace lock the most.
It looked exquisitely made, with the word "peace" engraved on the lock.
Jane Sampson took it out and put it around her neck, turning her head to call James Black, flaunting, "How does it look? Pretty, right?"
"Do you like it?" James Black thought for a moment and said, "If you like it, you wear it, and when the baby is born, they can wear it too."
"I was just asking if it looks good, and you’ve imagined so much?" Jane Sampson quickly took the peace lock off, "If people find out I’m wearing the baby’s piece, I’d be laughed at to death!"
"Then I’ll buy you a new one," James Black said, rubbing Jane Sampson’s head. "If you like it, buy it, and see who would laugh at you."
"Fans would laugh," Jane Sampson understood all too well. Her fans, when they love her, they truly love her, but when they laugh at her, they aren’t the least bit tender-hearted toward their idol.
"At those times, they’re cold and heartless, like fake fans."
"This time, interacting with Julie Sampson, I realized her personality has become much, much more cheerful. The last time I saw her, I just felt that the emotions behind her eyes were no longer as oppressive and distressing. This time, she was poised, confident, and beautiful, and when dealing with those reporters, she was relentless."
Jane Sampson said, "If she had been like this when she first returned to the Sampton Family, she and I could have been very, very good friends, just like I am with Sister Yvette Quick."
"This journey is taken one step at a time, and a personality is formed little by little," James Black said. "Seeing her like this now, you were right to help her back then. She didn’t let you down, did she?"
