CEO's Reborn Wife
Chapter 2642 - 2650: Found
Jane Sampson nodded slightly, feeling a final bit of kindness towards Julie as she helped her, hoping she could change, but not really expecting much.
Yet, seeing Julie nowadays, Jane felt a sense of relief.
As the two were chatting, James Black’s phone suddenly rang.
Jane, curious, stood on tiptoe to glance at it, and it turned out to be a call from Joseph Shaw.
"Hurry and answer," Jane pushed James Black’s arm.
Ever since the incident with Jillian Carter, Joseph had been unreachable; calling James Black at this time was likely about Jillian.
James wasted no time and answered it immediately.
"James, I want to return home as soon as possible, please help me."
Joseph’s voice was tight and hoarse, using the word "please" humbly in his first sentence.
"You heard about Jillian Carter?" James asked.
"I just found out." Joseph’s voice choked slightly, "Just now from Grandpa Carter."
"Alright, I will arrange it," James nodded, agreeing without hesitation.
Neither was the type to exchange many words, and clearly, Joseph wasn’t in the mood, so James briskly ended the call after speaking.
"I’ll go downstairs to tell grandpa something; you wait for me upstairs, and don’t jump around," James gently patted Jane’s shoulder, his touch was light and soft, even softer than his words of caution to her.
"Go on, I’m not a three-year-old," Jane urged James to hurry with his tasks.
Seeing Jane walk back and sit in the bed, James then took his phone and went downstairs.
Because she still had to return to the base later, Jane repacked the gift Julie had given her; these things she wouldn’t take to the base and would leave at the Black Residence.
After all, for a long time after, Jane would be living at the Black Residence.
Having tidied up the stuff, Jane sat there waiting for James to return, holding her mobile phone, without the mood to browse Twitter or play games.
She sat there in a daze until the mobile phone ringtone suddenly rang, pulling her back to reality.
The call was from Oscar Wilson.
For some reason, seeing Oscar’s call made Jane’s heart skip a beat.
An uneasy premonition arose in her heart.
But she still picked up the phone.
"Jane." Once the call connected, Oscar first called out to Jane, then sighed, "Jillian Carter... her remains have been found."
This was the first time Oscar spoke Jillian’s name with such a heavy heart.
The entire nation had been following news about Jillian, and now, finally, there was an outcome.
Only the remains could describe the outcome.
"A citizen found it and reported it, and when Jillian was found, she was clutching an already ruined doll tightly in her hands. She jumped into the river for that doll, and in the end, she managed to retrieve her doll, holding onto it tightly, even in death she refused to let go."
Oscar felt truly heavy-hearted; he had seen the scene photos, and Jillian had cradled the doll close to her chest, the gesture a mother would do protecting her child.
Once, she personally aborted her child.
Later, she lost her life for that child.
Quite ironic, and more heartbreaking.
Just as she had not hesitated when aborting the child, she did not hesitate when she jumped off the bridge that day.
Once, she was unworthy of being a mother.
Later, she became a qualified mother.
