CEO's Reborn Wife
Chapter 2737 - 2755: You Shouldn’t Have Said That
A few seconds later, Jane Sampson whispered quietly to James Black for him to hear, "I didn’t want it."
"If you didn’t want it, why did you post that on Twitter?" James asked, "I thought you wanted it."
"I just refuse to take the blame for some people; I didn’t take it, and I don’t want people to mistakenly think I did." Jane hummed, "Also, who did you get the photo back from? You didn’t tear it down yourself, did you?"
"I wanted to tear it down, but I was a step too late. When I went there, Emily Lancaster had already torn it down, and I asked her to give it back." James replied, "I don’t like my photo plastered on the bulletin board for people to comment on, nor do I like my photo left in a stranger’s hands."
"Do you want it or not?" James asked Jane Sampson again, "If yes, I’ll go back and get it for you."
"Want! Want! Want!" The hypocritical Jane Sampson repeatedly responded three times that she wanted it when James asked the second time.
James burst out laughing on the phone, "Jane Sampson saying one thing and meaning another."
"I didn’t want it just now, but I’ve changed my mind later, can’t I?" Jane Sampson pouted, "When you get back, help me deal with Chen Dong; he’s too annoying and gave me a nickname, calling me Fat Fish!"
"I saw that." James said very seriously, "You’re not fat; he doesn’t even have a proper girlfriend, so he wouldn’t understand that you’re going to be a mother, gaining some weight is normal."
"It also shows that your body is well-nourished, which means the nutrition is absorbed well, and the baby will be very healthy later on." James said, "I’ve bought some peanut crisp as a specialty souvenir for you; I’ll bring it home for you to eat."
"You shouldn’t have said that; now I won’t be able to sleep my nap peacefully." Jane Sampson shouted and plopped herself on the sofa, "I like eating peanut crisp."
Before rebirth, when she went back with James Black to participate in ancestor worship, she took the opportunity when James wasn’t paying attention to buy a big heap of it and hid it in her suitcase. That peanut crisp store has been open for several decades, it’s an old store with handiwork passed down from generation to generation.
The boss has earned enough money and is very capricious every day; the peanut crisp they sell is always in high demand, but he’s still unwilling to make more.
Just like office workers, every day the shop opens at nine o’clock in the morning, closes at twelve o’clock to go home for a meal, opens again at two o’clock in the afternoon, and closes at 5:30 to go home for another meal, not open in the evening.
If it’s raining on the weekend, it just won’t open at all.
They don’t accept reservations nor do express delivery; it’s first-come, first-served every day, and there’s no limit on purchase for anyone; as long as you pay, you can even buy out the whole day’s stock.
"Didn’t get much crisp, but I managed to bring back some peanut candy." James laughed, "I think you would like it."
"Like it! I super like it! That shop only makes peanut candy occasionally; it’s pure luck if you manage to buy a pound or two, the boss only makes it when their grandson wants to eat, going through the effort of making it once and then putting out a bit to sell in the shop." Jane Sampson felt that James Black’s luck today was smashing.
"Yeah, wait for me to come back." James then hung up the phone.
Jane Sampson happily took her mobile phone and went back upstairs, thinking about the delicious treats James brought her, too excited to sleep inside the room.
She waited until it was past 2 o’clock, played a few rounds of standalone games, and felt sleepy before she was finally able to sleep holding her mobile phone.
